Really lovely food. Little on the costly side! But well worth it. Nice area for outdoor seatings. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

With the exception of Liverpool and Bramhall, I think I’ve eaten and reviewed most of the Piccolinos in the Northwest and I’d have to say that this is my favourite. Sure, I’m biased because it’s pretty much on my doorstep, but in terms of location it can’t be beat. With Cibo bookending the Hale high street, you have your choice of Italian specialty restaurants. Make no mistake, this is a ristorante and not a trattoria like Sugo in Altrincham. I doff my hat to the Piccolino group for maintaining consistency across all the sites. It’s not easy, but front of house staff were brilliant in putting my figlio at ease. The table settings were top notch. Crisp white linen and place settings get full marks from me. Before I start with the food, I have to say that I spotted some tantalising wine selections. Sadly, I was unable to peruse anything more than the house white on this occasion and it went down well in the sun-shine. I doubt there’s a ristorante that can beat a dedicated pizzeria like Rudy’s or even Vito’s a few doors down, but with a traditional oven on site, they do a great job of keeping the kids happy. Time permitting, I would have had antipasto and primi piatti before the secondo piatto. But such is life that I had to make do with just a well balanced gamberoni pasta. The prawns were succulent and the pasta seasoned well with just the right quantity of chilli flakes. No hint of cream to obscure flavours. Despite almost ruining the dish myself by asking for Parmesan (never on seafood), it did not spoil the deliciousness of the repast.

We went to have our valentines dinner here and boy we were heavily disappointed. Service was slow, poor and lacked any attention at all. Ten minutes after been sat down at the table, no one offered us a drinks menu or water. We had to ask for drinks menu and when asked the lady was surprised as if we mentioned something out of the ordinary. After each course been served, there was significant delay for another course to be served on our table and sadly my mains ravioli was too cold and husband’s pasta was too hot and pretty raw. Finally when we ordered our panna cotta, it had a texture of a mousse and nowhere close to a panna cotta. The whole experience was awful and food was tasteless. Sadly it spoilt our valentine evening meal which my husband had so lovingly planned and booked. We are not going there again.

Today I was in this restaurant and was disappointed. it all started when we had dirty table. and then our tiramisu looked like this, this is clearly not how it should look in a restaurant like this. Plus, the taste was no different from the supermarket

Update September 2023 A great place to grab lunch of dinner in fine surroundings with a view. Totally relaxing. First time at Piccolino's in Hale - The restaurant shares the same DNA as its sister restaurant in the centre of Manchester. The fixtures and fittings have a corporate feel or branding that is unmistakable. The menu is identical. We stayed for lunch/brunch eating out on the terrace, this was rather nice. The retractable roof came into its own on a beautiful sunny day that blessed our visit. The service was excellent - that is par for the course in Piccolino's. If I'm to be picky then my Calzone was a little over done and lacked the bouffant appearance that has become customary. Maybe the dough lacked gluten resulting in the lack of the puffy finish that is more aesthetically pleasing to my eye. Having said all of that, super meal out.

It's POSH !!! If you know what I mean 😀 Service depends on how busy the restaurant is. Luckily, we went on a lazy Saturday afternoon for a quiet lunch. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. My wife is happy, and so am I. Well, for that price you wouldn't expect anything less !!

Very Disappointing. Food was poorly cooked and my favourite oyster was too small and displayed badly on plate.

Went yesterday for a big Christmas dinner. The ambiance was spectacular; Christmas decorations balanced, spot on. The staff were very accommodating for the large group with kids. Food arrived on time. So organized. Can't fault the sirloin steak. Best I had for sometime. Many thanks. Will surely come back again 🙂

Food was very good. The ambiance was nice. Staf is friendly. Music was a bit loud for a restaurant. The terrace is heated and perfect for a spring or fall evening. It was my second time here.

Currently 50% off the main menu, and this review is in that context. Pizzas were excellent, and the quality of the food was very high. The service was variable between charming/efficient to borderline rude/forgetful but it was very busy and I'm willing to accept it's part of the atmosphere and local convenience. If you need a quieter area ask for upstairs or choose a table in the outside section. I would go again, but only at these discount prices.

Upon arrival such an energetic, kind presence from all of the servers. Sat at the bar while they prepared our tables, took no more than 5 minutes. Drinks arrived fast and I had the “Zero Friends With Benefits” mocktail which was delicious. Starters were light, yet delectable and arrived in no more than 10 to 15 minutes. Our server Francesca was so kind and funny, a great waitress. Mains were so good. I ordered the Capriciossa pizza and it reminded me of being back in Italy. True authentic Italian food, made and served by Italians. Desserts were light and a great finish to the meal, especially the Berry sorbet. Overall an uplifting experience with great service and amazing food. Worth every penny.

By far the best experience I have had in a restaurant in several years (and I go out to eat a lot!) Mario was absolutely amazing, going the extra mile and demonstrated world class customer service alongside his colleagues. The food was absolutely delicious, from the lobster+steak and dessert. Also had oysters which by request to have them grilled (due to medical reasons) they were more than happy to do so. Will definitely be back, Keep up the great service

Evening meal was the nicest I've had for a long time, music was really good, very relaxed atmosphere. Guy at desk greets you really polite, we had cocktails at the bar, Jerry recommend a cocktail which was to die for. Overall great experience.

The evening was truly delightful. We started with scallops and carpaccio, followed by spiedini and seafood spaghetti. Every dish was outstanding, with the spiedini being a particular highlight. The staff was not only polite but also very helpful, and the managers made a couple of visits to our table to ensure everything was to our liking. We shared a few laughs with the general manager, who generously offered us two complimentary limoncellos. I highly recommend this place; it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

I haven't been to Piccolonos Hale for at least 4years, mainly due to 5je last couple of times there were fighting between young men. I have visited the restaurant in Manchester & Knutsford which have been wonderful. Thankfully Hale seems to have cleaned up it's clientele and the place seemed back to it's usual good standard. The food was great, liver, onions and mashed potato. My wife had the cod, all very well cooked and tasted great. The atmosphere was a little quiet but it was midweek so to be expected.

Great food as usual but extraordinarily poor reception when we arrived. We had booked on the terrace but the greeter tried to show us to a table inside the restaurant. When I complained, instead of apologising for the mistake he said that lots of people wanted to sit on the terrace so it couldn’t be guaranteed! I told him that was why I had booked! We were asked to sit at the bar and eventually were given a table on the terrace. Throughout the evening there were tables available on the terrace so I have no idea why we were not accommodated immediately. It spoilt the first part of the evening but once we were seated the food and the service were good. Sadly poor management let the side down!

Pretty average if i'm honest. Food was okay. I had the Pollo Parmigiani which looked like a big squashed chicken nugget on my plate with spaghetti and tomatos thrown on top. Quite bland, tasteless. I expected more for the price. Staff were friendly enough. Probably wouldn't return.

Popped in for a meal on Monday evening and enjoyed a fab time. Food was excellent as ever and top notch service from Valeria and her team. Always our first choice because of the consistent high standards in food and service.

We had a lovely evening here, very tasty antipasti and ravioli dishes. The waitor recommended a lovely wine too. They loose one star as after clearing the mains we were pretty much ignored. Not offered desserts or coffee.

An excellent level of service with a delightful, light menu, perfect for a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch. The terrace was empty enough to give a great level of privacy while still being full enough to give a hustling atmosphere to the whole affair. Overall fantastic experience topped off by excellent food and premier service.
