This is definitely our Saturday afternoon treat! Amazing food, lovely people and a great atmosphere.

Great experience, excellent staff, especially Rex and Simon (our waitress was great too, just didn't catch her name unfortunately), and, of course, quality food. We visited for an early Sunday lunch during the May bank holiday, 2 excellent fish courses and wine over a leisurely 90 minutes. Perfect.

What a night, considering no chiefs, Simon on fire with the sharing boards. The pocket rocket Zo Unsworth on vocals. Whole place rockin. Just like it used to be. Thank goodness for the owners of Riva to stand by for Hale we need to show the love back, thank you guys. Special mention to Ella for the dance 🤣

I’ve eaten here about 6 times. Different times and days and always been very satisfied. Great food and service. Restaurant standards at slightly above pub prices. 10% optional service charge added to the bill. I’d doubt if anyone asked for it to be removed. When it’s this good I’m happy to pay.

This is the best restaurant in Hale. Soon as you walk in you feel so welcomed. Staff so nice can't do enough. Food always excellent.

Food was absolutely stunning. We had the Duck confit and Beef Wellington for our mains and we also had the seafood platter for starters. Lucky to dine in quite a few places but this place is a must.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for my Husband's birthday. Food excellent and gluten free no problem. Very friendly and attentive.

Nice that Riva is dog friendly. I have eaten there before but the Sunday lunch wasn't as good as last time. It was very busy, very noisy and service was slow, the standard of food wasn't at its best. Not ready to rush back.

Great to see this place back open. Visited today for dinner and drinks. First time dining, usually just visit for drinks but thought we would get dinner to support this amazing local place. We was not disappointed at all. We had all three courses, which were amazing with great service. We will definitely be back!

Eaten there a lot lately and the food is absolutely superb think maybe they have a new chef. We had a party upstairs in the private dining room on Sunday and everyone remarked that it was the best food they’d had in a restaurant for a long time. Cannot recommed Riva highly enough and looking forward to eating there again soon 🙌🏻

The best food in Hale. This is the second time I have visited Riva and I was just as impressed the second time, if not more impressed! We went last night (Thursday evening) and they had a singer on who was unbelievable! The food was amazing, our party opted for the snack board to start followed by beef Wellington, steak pie, fish and chips and the fillet steak and everyone said the food was 10/10. We were served by a lovely gentlemen who I assume was the owner.. whose service was incredible. If you want something different from the many Italians or Indians in Hale and want some real quality food, go to Riva!!

Delicious lunch at Riva and the Mojito's were just the best. Very pleasant staff, a really delightful afternoon. Thank you, can't wait to come back and can't believe I haven't been here for so long.

The food was very good but took 45 mins to serve even though hardly anyone eating. Music far too loud and not suitable for elderly. I was too focused on the loud music to enjoy the meal. Parents have hearing aids which the noise was making worse as he has a handset to operate hearing aids. Quieter relaxing music would be far better at lunchtime keep the noise for evening

We booked in for lunch Friday afternoon, been here a few times. The food was gorgeous, and the owners who were serving are just natural lovely people. A great experience. A great unpretentious spot.

Called in on a Sunday as the restaurant we had booked fir my partner.s birthday was closed and their website was still taking bookings! Riva fitted us in even though they were full and they had a large party of guests. Excellent service . Best Sunday lunch we have had for years obviously a chef who knows about food. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended we will return!

We would highly recommend Riva Hale, I have eaten a few times here now and the food has always been amazing. The staff have always been very welcoming and always service with a smile. You receive a lovely warm welcome. I just loved the atmosphere and the beautiful deco making the full dining experience very pleasant. The Sunday roast was the best I have ever had, the lamb was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to return- Thanks again! Show less

We haven't had a fantastic Sunday lunch like that for years, a beautiful roast for two to share. Big shout to chef and the lovely staff, looking forward to visiting again.

We celebrated my sister's special birthday at Riva's last Saturday the 10th September, in their 'secret room'. The staff were so brilliantly organised having supplied a menu a week before so we could choose our meals and eat within 15 mins of sitting down. Liz who looked after us was amazing with her efficiency and the food was extremely delicious!!

Really disappointed I’m writing this, given all the great reviews! Riva is a nice place, but the food really disappointing. I’m comparing this to all the places I’ve eaten across manchester, and I’ve eaten out a lot! I’ve eaten here once before and it was nice. I ordered a lamb Sunday roast and the lamb was fatty, wasn’t pink as requested, Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and burnt around the edges. The rest was just ok. Very far from a good Sunday roast. My wife’s tuna Nicoise… tuna came pink although she requested it well done (I know who eats tuna well done?). The tuna was too salty and the broccoli side we ordered was overcooked. Sorry Riva either customers are too easily please or you got to up your game! Otherwise great atmosphere and drinks.

Excellent service, fun, relaxed, honest staff! Attention to detail and incredibly efficient service! The food was on point, my staff and I loved our weekly team lunch here! We will definitely be regulars!

Fabulous gem of a restaurant in Hale. I’ve eaten here many times (including private events in the lovely cosy function room upstairs) and it never disappoints. Always a great atmosphere and wonderful food. Staff are attentive and very friendly. Will be back again soon!

We ate (and drank) at Riva on Friday. The food was great. The bar and restaurant are comfotable and welcoming. All the staff, without exception were lovely. I might have liked my kidenys to be a little bit more devilled but suspect I'm odd with this. The rabbit was superb - I wish I could cook rabbit like this. We were a party of 8 and had a lovely time. Our waitress was fantastic.

Riva is a firm family favourite and we regularly pay it a visit for a bite to eat or just a quick drink. Simon always has a warm welcome and the food and service never disappoint. The menu is varied and there is always something to entice everyone - we especially enjoy the Bar Snack Board and the kids love the Riva burger.

We had my husband's birthday lunch here. Gone for Cecil's lounge. The room is beautiful and the service is excellent! Not to mention food is also fabulous! We will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family and would be returning soon. Well done guys!
