I've not been here for year and after today I don't know why I don't go more often. There's a fantastic view of the lake from the restaurant. My friends and I all had the early bird menu option. I had smoked mackerel pate with cream cheese, toast and a small salad. My friends had broccoli soup with poppy seed bread and butter. And tuna and egg with salad. Cheese and onion pie with magnificent crispy, crunchy chips and beans. Steak pie with lots of steak in the filling and gravy and a haddock and chips. Three of us had soft whippy ice cream and sauce and an apple and blackberry crumble and custard was devoured very quickly. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We'll definitely be back

Friendly attentive staff. Nothing too much trouble. Accommodating to people's needs. Interesting watching the wildlife and the waters ports activities while we were eating. Will go again

First time for us trying this place. We had 'The Boathouse Prime Beef Burger' which was Fantastic, lovely Restaurant, very retro, the Staff were Brilliant too. We will definitely be going back. Highly Recomnended.

We visited on 13/07/2023, the service was very good. The food was delicious. Just this restaurant has steep prices (they charge for a portion of steak £28 pounds). Amazing views though.

Beautiful surroundings, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. A great little find in Sale, had a nice time there with family.

Had a great dinner! Brilliant view and service! We had fantastic haddock, cod and scampi with raspberry pavlova and cheese cake! Will definitely come again!

I really want to love the boat house, should be a hidden gem disguised as a leisure centre. Alas, everytime I go I leave disappointed. Received a barely cooked steak (medium-rare apparently), some undercooked chips and it took over half an hour for 2 pints to arrive at the table. Pricey bill at the end too, a small receipt stapled to a large piece of paper with a tip added and a suggested total we were expected to pay, pet peeve. Optional of course. Asked for the bill to be paid, not the suggested on this occasion. A strange atmosphere looking over the swimmers in the water park while spice girls play through the sprakers. Disappointing afternoon in the boathouse, in desperate need of a refurb and a refresh. Will be a while before I return regrettably

I have been quite a few times, and every time has been wonderful. The service is brilliant, staff always very helpful, and friendly. Food is amazing, we are a family of 10 and none of us have had a bad meal. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to going again.

The best food I had since last 2 years in manchester. Have tried many places, but this place gave that warm feeling and a essnse of increased appetite when I went there. It's really a nice place to visit with good view and food. Fresh food is what made me write this review. Keep it up guys @ The Boathouse.

Place is only good to dine or have drinks. Place has a view to the lake, but nothing to say wow! Food and drinks are costly. Dowstairs has a simple coffe, which the cleaning could be improve. Upstairs is the restsurant/ bar, quite small. Friendly staff though.

The lunchtime 'Early Diner' menu is good value for money at £15.95 for two courses, £19.95 for three. There is a good choice of starters, mains and deserts and the food we had was tasty and hot. Service was good and the staff are friendly.

Pros Stunning view and beautiful scenery. Enough parking space out of extremely busy hours. Helpful and friendly service. Cons Average food quality for the price and portions served. It could do better regarding air circulation/condition as the smell of frying oil is extremely strong. Not very kids friendly, especially if you have a pram(elevator out of service).

Tough chicken wrapped in fatty bacon which needed to be cooked longer. Watery sauce. Touch stringy broccoli. Good service , pleasant waitresses who worked hard to please .

Love it here. Sit back with a nice view of the water. Have a drink, great food. Amazing service from all the staff. They have a lift too if you have a buggy or a family member who cannot do the stairs

It was my first time at the boathouse i went with a friend for Sunday roast and the food was excellent and so was the service. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family you won't be disappointed 💜

Went here for my father in law's 75th birthday. Food was delicious as always and they catered to me being vegetarian. The manager I believe surprised our man with a slice of cake and a suprise happy birthday song and it absolutely made his day. I couldn't thank you enough. You guys are becoming are regular family celebration go to!

My first time here. A birthday party with 14 ladies. Stewart, our lead server was a champ! So patient and accomodating. All the staff were terrific! The menu was a set meal. I had the pea soup, pie, veggies and gravy and cheesecake with ice cream, all vegan. The singer was amazing, the atmosphere deluxe, what a great, memorable night. Wonderful place!

Visited on a Sunday around 6:30/7pm. We didn’t book a table but we were seated straight away. Our food was lovely, I would recommend the Garlic Bread starter and the Haddock and Chips. Also really generous portion sizes. Good service, and really nice views of the lake.

I love the scenery and view around this simple family run restaurant. Apart from that, the staff here make u feel welcome, and food is pretty alright too. I ordered baked cod and it was a little over done but the ambience and hospitality made up for that. So definitely recommend it as a location to catch up with friends or even to simply admire a beautiful view of sale water park with your other half

Great food and atmosphere, just waited a little longer than usual. Never had a bad meal in here and we visit often throughout the year but can't wait to book again for next Christmas, staff always friendly and welcoming
