WARNING: This venue is using the new Covid-era regulations to rip off clients who book in advance. Point in case: Me and the wife thought of popping in for a drink before lunch, so about an hour max stay. We booked and got a request to put down £40 deposit. That's steep for one hour but ok. I called to check what happens if we just have a drink and move on. I was told that we would lose the rest of the £40!!! That's theft. It should be reported to the authorities. Management should undergo training in basic decency as well as in the definition of the word "deposit".

Music was great. Atmosphere was good. Quirky decor 2 for 1 cocktails happy days . Also parking right outside:)

Out and about with Casta in Didsbury playing the Dice Roll game. I wanted the Head of Steam or any other real ale pub but I rolled a 6 and that resulted in Casta's choice ... the Slug & Lettuce for Cocktails. Casta had a blue "Sea you later." It came with a free gummy shark. I had a pint of Peroni. Only been a few times. Large bar with lots of outdoor space. Very pleasant. Casta says "very Insta" whatever that means. Trendy bar food and music. They still accept cash.

I'm giving this 5 star....After 4 months of staying in we ventured to Didsbury & chose Slug & Lettuce to eat lunch... The staff were exceptional... Explaining the changes... The Lay out and what to do... There were Sanitizer's all over... and tables spaced out... Menu was good...Ordered and served with food within 20minutes...and the food was Lovely... one way in and another way out... So thank you to all for making our first trip out Great... keep up the good work... xx Well Done!

Slug and lettuce is just around the corner for us. It was on our list since this place seemed quite popular judging by the constant crowd. We went on a lazy Sunday afternoon and weren't disappointed. The chipotle bean burger was great and my husband tried the lasagne which was good. They have this offer wher e you get a drink free if you order 2 of a kind. Great place for friends, good food too! Amazing time, we had the bottomless brunch and Joe was our server and he was nothing but attentive. Our drinks were always full and he was the best!! If anyone goes here ensure Joe is your server he is so funny and makes your time as enjoyable as possible!

This venue is not providing service to or letting customers into the venue unless you own a mobile phone and download the NHS app. They claim it is the law but I explained I do not have to download the app it is a choice and I do not have memory space on my phone. My family member who I was with does not own a mobile phone so we offered to give our home phone number and name but they refused us service which is unfair and they are lying to consumers about the law. I think it is disgusting behaviour that they are telling people a lie and therefore discriminating against older people or those without access to a mobile phone.

Music was great, that was about the only thing though. If your looking for barely dressed 18 year olds that all look the same then yes this place is for you.

Kyle ‘manager’ absolutely shocking customer service. After ordering our drinks and waiting 40 mins for them to arrive. 4 out of 6 pink gin spritz tasted vile, maybe tonic, maybe the lemonade had gone? Not sure. Took them to the bar where we were met by the terrible manager Kyle. We politely told him there was something wrong with them. He dipped and straw and tried and said “there’s nothing wrong with them they’re fine, your not having a refund” we told Kyle there was something wrong with the drinks and we just wanted the correct drinks, to which he replied “I’m the only manager, you’re not having more drinks, if you come back up I will have you kicked out”. Never in all my life have I come across a manager so rude. We did find out another manager was on shift ‘Heather’ she was lovely and resolved the situation straight away which Kyle could have easily done as a “manager”. Kyle needs training or better yet sacking, he ruins the place.

The music was great and drinks lovely. However the lady that served us behind the bar was so rude. She was quite short dark hair with glasses and tanned. Firstly, we were clearly stood there trying to be served. Only a couple people at the bar and she wasn’t doing anything even so that her colleague pointed us out to her. Consisted to check ID which is fine however actually took the Micky kept flipping it over scratching. Compared to the bouncers at the door who were lovely and made you feel comfortable. I feel like there’s a way of being with people it doesn’t hurt to smile and be nice or asking in a polite way. Finally I asked about the car park as I was driving so had parked my car in the car park. And she replied don’t ask me about that I know nothing. Fine but direct us to some one who does know. We’re customers at the end of the day and people are trying to have a nice time it’s just a shame I’d never speak to anyone like that.

Went with a friend for lunch, thoroughly enjoyable, light and airy. The lady serving was so very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We had a few mocktails and they were very tasty. Pleasant vibe with the people in the restaurant.

I should really be giving this place 4 stars. The food was delicious and very good portion sizes, and also at good prices. We opted for the lunchtime menus which during the week is £5, and also went for the desert offer of 3 for £7. The food was fantastic and the deserts were nice and plentiful. The reason for the 2 stars is the service. It took a long time to have orders placed, and a very long time to get the bill. It seems unfair to critique the young waitress as the poor woman was left on her own to take orders and also provide the drinks. So this is more a criticism of the management for not knowing that they clearly need more staff. So food is good and at a great price, but just be prepared for a long wait.

Judgemental staff. Some members of the staff were really rude and made us feel uncomfortable.

Waited almost an hour for food, half an hour for drinks (it was the eat out to help out day and boiling hot) the great thing was being indoors with the air conditioning as wouldnt have coped being outside, definitely would have dehydrated and malnourished.

BEST BAR IN TOWN! We came to Manahatta last weekend for a proper night out after months of COVID misery, and this place was proper. Greeted with smiles at the door and shown to our seats, the rules & new information was clear but the vibe was still decent. We ordered Katsu Curry & Steak Frites, food was quick, looked and tasted peng and again, the table service was with a smile and professionalism. There are good COVID measures in place and it doesn’t ruin the atmosphere either. The music is current and funky and it’s comfy in there too. One of the managers came over to ask us how our meal and drinks were and thanked us for our custom, he kept his distance but was very chatty and polite. They’ve seriously nailed it here, staff & managers are top people, food is tasty and the vibe is great. I can’t believe we hadn’t been here before, but we have just booked in another table for next week! People are far too harsh on this industry at the moment, save your negativity for elsewhere and support your local restaurants and bars! Places like these need protecting at all costs!!!!

Had the worst experience at manahatta deansgate last night with the general manager Daniel king! We had a table booked and a paid £60 deposit, shortly after getting seated to our table my friend was refused any drinks and was told she was not welcome, that she was too intoxicated and that she should leave. Daniel then came down to speak to us as we felt that we wasn’t that drunk and didn’t understand the reasoning of why she was getting refused. Daniel was very abrupt with poor customer service, belittling my friend and making our first uncomfortable. We will never go back there and waste our money with poor customer service So long as Daniel is still the general manager. If I could give less than 1 star I would. WOULD NOT Recommend! They also keep any money not spent behind the bar which I’ve seen many people complaining about along with many bad reviews about Daniel And his terrible ways of managing their customers.

The security kid on the door on the 19/09/2020 was this young tall fat lad, he is so rude please avoid this place. Can you guys please recruit someone that has been to school? Thank you

We when for a Sunday bottomless brunch and it we were not disappointed. The staff was making sure our glass was full at all time and it was perfect. The portion of the pancakes are a little small but otherwise it was great.

I have to say on this occasion the service was alright, the vibe was nice, but then again we had the downstairs booked and stayed to ourselves. The service was better than I have experienced in the past as I have had very negative experiences here, but have tried not to hold grudges. The food is always good and the music has always been good during my visits.

Got there for 11.45 on a Sunday. We weren’t allowed in as they said they were closed (despite the window saying they are open at 11am and the website say the same). Some guys walked in 5 mins later and were allowed in. Ordered food, nachos, burger and some breaded chicken. Hardly any chicken, more bread, too hard. My husbands fries were stone cold, these were swapped. Husband asked for bbq sauce on the side and got none at all. I left 75% of my meal and the waiter didn’t even bother to ask if the food was ok. Dreadful service and terrible food. Not a great start to our trip to Manchester. Avoid and go to Gustos across the road- wish we had.

It's a bar that serves food !, it's ok great decor , Coors reasonably cheap , took ages to bring out a platter but all in all sound .

Awful place didn’t even make it inside, whilst queuing the doormen just kept picking out groups of young girls who just joined the queue and letting them in ahead of everyone else. We left after this happened twice within 15 mins of being in the queue and went to dirty martini across the road, a far better night too👍🏻

Visited the Slug and Lettuce today to celebrate my daughters birthday. She'd won prize of an aperol spritzer tree and decided it'd be great to make the most of our afternoon. We were accompanied by my sister in law, who arrived on time. We ordered food and drinks as soon as we could because we'd all skipped breakfast. We ordered the chicken sharing platter with a side of chicken guiozos aswell as a number of cocktails. Food and drinks were lovely, and unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. It was lovely being out socialising with family and can't wait to return. Enjoy the photos 😉

We had a very disappointing experience here tonight. We ordered a steak (with a side of fries) and an extra side of fries. The second side was never delivered and was apparently treated as an upgrade to the first portion. We had to raise this with the staff twice before getting a response. The manager offered a refund for the "upgrade" to the fries. She shrugged as she offered an insincere apology. The fries were supposed be with an nduja topping but were served with spicy ketchup instead. Sadly, this part of the evening was hardly pleasant.

Booked an afternoon tea, cakes were dry and the sandwiches had rotten lettuce. Inside and outside were a shambles of dirty tables, incredibly loud music, and very drunk people with staff prioritising the drunk people and ignoring other patrons. I was directed to a very harried floor manager who tried his best but it was clear that we were on the lowest rung of his various spinning plates. Overall, food and atmosphere terrible. Don't recommend.

Went the other day, had such a good time. Cocktails were 2-4-1 and the food was decent, the bartenders were really friendly! Would definitely return!

Came I on Saturday and was really disappointed with the service. We waited 55 minutes for our drinks and after 30 minutes I approached the bar and waited in the queue thinking it will just be quicker if I order there. The guy on the bar was rude and just asked me to wait as I can see they're busy. I returned to my seat then after 45 minutes I approached the bar again to be told our order was next. Then we saw a bartender deliver our drinks to the wrong the table so we then had to go and get them anyway. My point is if I was at the bar I would of got served so when I went up after half hour why couldn't I just collect the drinks myself? In the end we waited 55 minutes for drinks that then got delivered to the wrong table. It put a downer on the night as we were planning to spend a while in there but after the service we had what we'd ordered then left.....😒 won't be revisiting

While the service was good the price wasn't, nor was the portion sizes. I came here for lunch on a Friday, ordered the jambalaya and received a small bowl of salsa-flavoured rice with less then a chicken breast's worth of meat, including the chorizo.

We all had a fantastic time celebrating here. The private room upstairs is really spacious with its own bar and balcony. Staff we're lovely and looked after us all.

Very odd experience. Came for the lunch deal during office hours for a quick bite to eat with colleagues. Ordered at the bar where the guy (clearly new, which is not a problem we all start off somewhere) had no idea about the lunch deal and tried to charge £15. We had to go into a discussion and eventually the manager explained to the guy where to find the lunch deal on the till. My friend then asked for the vegan Quorn chicken style burger, and the server listed all the meat burgers. We again asked for the vegan one. When it was my time to order I asked to upgrade with a glass of wine for £1.5 and he wanted to charge me for a glass separately. He had literally no idea of the menu at all it was as if no one explained him anything. Where is the manager? 3 of our group received their food within 5 minutes. My friend waited 25 minutes for her burger and I waited 30 minutes for my Thai curry. There were 2-3 other tables in the restaurant. The guy came over to give us cutlery before the food arrived, which the other server had already brought. The guy asked if we wanted any sauce, my friend asked for vegan mayo and he said they don't have that (without checking). So I pointed out that the vegan mayo is listed on the menu. The burger was the wrong one - my friend repeatedly asked for the chicken style one, but got the beef style one. It was very, very burnt. Like black all round. Not sure why as it is a vegan one so there is no need to cook it for that long just has to be warm. It was covered in some chili which wasn't listed on the menu, to hide how burnt it was? My friend went to the manager to explain it was the wrong one and also it was burnt. The food was taken away and a refund was given. My friend returned to the office hungry as we didn't have time to wait for more food. The vegetables from my Thai curry were frozen not fresh, and therefore the cauliflower had this awful texture. The sauce wasn't really nice either. It was supposed to come with pomegranate seeds but they weren't there. When I asked for them the girl went to check in the kitchen and came back saying they had ran out. My colleague's chicken wrap had pieces of tomato in the wrap literally as big as a quarter of a tomato. Not chopped or sliced, just a quarter of a tomato. This was odd and he found it very difficult to eat it. The kitchen situation really needs to be addressed. And it looks like the staff are just taking food away from the pass without checking the ticket if it is the correct item and if everything is on there. Mistakes happen, and the guy was new, that's all fine. But the manager did not deal with the situation properly. No eye contact was made, didn't see any smiles, no genuine conversation. The service did not have any personality. Won't be coming back (although we work around the corner). Plenty of other options.

This is a really handy place for our French meet up. We meet up most Saturdays at 11 am. Nine times out of 10 a decaf coffee is unavailable. When I questioned this today, I was told ‘we’re not a café, we’re a cocktail bar’. If you’re open at 11, who are you expecting to be drinking cocktails at that time of day? I was able to buy a piece of toast but not able to buy a decaf coffee! Bizarre!!

Half the food was cold and some took 1hour 30 minutes to come out from ordering. Also had to return an over cooked we'll done steak twice. The third time still hadn't come out after another 20 minutes so cancelled the order and left. Bar staff where helpful throughout. Also the first steak was brought back to the table saying this is how it is supposed to be even though 2 other steaks order were perfect medium rate. Will never go back

Known for 2 for 1 cocktails. Advertised on the table Christmas menus as 2 for 1. That is, unless it is the two weeks up to Christmas, NewYear and some weekends. All in very small print on the back

Shocking quality of food for the price. Raised a complaint with a waitress and the manager didn’t even bother to come out to address it. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The prices are just over the top £5.05 for a bottle of bitter! Every time I have to come to this place it fills me with dread. The new decor looks so over the top too. Won't be back any time soon.

My friend and I like to meet here for lunch or an early evening meal. Like the new menu. Enjoyed our lunch and pleased about the allergy check on ordering and a personal follow up. All in all a good experience.

Loved every second of it, started off with some lovely Prosecco and within 5 minutes we had our first drinks. The food was delicious and the drinks just kept coming! By the last 15 minutes of bottomless brunch we hadn’t had all our drinks yet so the server said we could just have our last two right away and brought them over, well worth the money and had such a lovely time x

Food was amazing, hot, fresh & quick out. Drinks flowing for brunch - service was impeccable. We actually asked for Connor’s name about 30 mins into our brunch to write a review on how fab he was. So attentive & genuinely cracking customer service - made it seem like fun not work! (Full disclosure - Connor gave us a card to write a review toward the end of the brunch but we were already on it - he was fabulous!)
