Great cosy little place to get a coffee and a nibble. You can easily while the time away here no stress no hassle. Prices are in line with the area: £6.30 for two drinks, you can order sitting down via your qr code or at the counter.

Was passing thought I'd give it a try because it seems pleasant from the outside. The chocolates are pricey but it is a niche shop so that's prob why. The Hot Chocolate was nicely presented, really hot, smooth and nice portion size. Something to enjoy... Also had a Biscoff Tray Bake which wasn't as sweet as I would have like it and bit dry. Giving 3 stars as didn't feel welcome, the lady seemed reluctant to serve us. The atmosphere was a bit too gloomy for my liking esp for a chocolate cafe..

My sister and I adore the hot chocolate here. It’s one of the best we have tried. We were with friends yesterday and wanted to share the experience- two dark and two milk hot chocolates served piping hot- absolutely delicious! Friends also agreed- best hot chocolate they’ve tried so far!

Lovely coffee but a frosty reception guaranteed if you ask for your coffee a bit hotter or any additional request. We were also asked to leave when we ordered a drink in a takeaway cup but sat at a table as “it causes complaints”. Just so comical. Clearly just wanted us out of the shop so other people could sit down. Shame as it’s only one individual who seems to have a bee in her bonnet. All the other staff are really nice.

This is my favourite coffee place in Chorlton. The quality of their coffees and chocolates is impeccable, and the staff are nice. The atmosphere is great to have a chat with a loved one, or sit down solo with a good book! Just a note to say they tend to close at 5pm (Google shows 5:30pm), in case you plan to go after work like me :)

Visited the new branch in Ramsbottom on opening day. We were made to feel very welcome, had a good chat with the owner and enjoyed breakfast and drinks. Everything we had was delicious and served in good time. Will be visiting again with friends.

We’ve been coming to Cocoa Tree for a number of years. It’s a nice little independent shop smelling like a sweet dream. The coffee and cakes are always fresh and delicious with smiley and welcoming staff. It’s always nice to see Mariana and have a chat and a giggle. This little gem worth a visit if you’re in the area or passing by.

Went with my partner a couple of weeks back - still enjoying the complimentary bag of chocolate they very kindly gifted us. We both had mochas when we went which were delicious. The home-made chocolate on the side was incredibly smooth, creamy and not too sweet. My favourite part of the experience was having fresh chocolate piped hot onto my croissant. Definitely worth a visit - for the lovely drinks or maybe to pick up a present for someone.

Food is good. Service is ok. Waited over 25 mins for a milkshake. To add, the Manchester shop has similar issues with wait times

Poor service I’m afraid. Only one person working at lunchtime. Lady working got our order wrong and charged us for something we did not order, then proceeded with a distant, unapologetic manner, when asked for a refund of the one item we didn’t order she placed receipt on our table and walked off with no apology. Probably won’t be coming back now. Which is a shame as I’d heard good things.

The dark hot chocolate is vegan and wonderful. I had gingerbread flavour. The owner was also very attentive and lovely making time to chat even though she was very busy. Definitely recommend for vegans wanting a nice place to meet friends and have a chocolately treat.

I attended this store yesterday with my wife and brother in law and when we got to the order stage the elder lady who served us was so horrible and rude and took our order then said wait outside in the heavily raining weather, I am originally from Oxford so the love of cafes is something very dear to me and being a independent business I felt I would receive the home love but instead we were treated like second class citizens asking for a hand out when we paid £15 and were so excited. I don’t know if she is the manager but after what we went through my poor wife was so upset and started crying. Horrible experience never returning ever again and advise don’t take loved ones there please 🙏🏽

The best spot in Chorlton without a shadow of a doubt. I have been frequenting Cocoa Tree for a good couple of years now. Real cosy feel and the music is always chill, plus the staff are wonderful. Mariana is a magician. She knows what i want even before i get to the till. Her hazelnut praline hot choc with cream on top is literally to die for and my go to order, just want to give her a big thank you for always being so friendly and welcoming. M x

Small, super friendly chocolate shop that serves a delicious range of artesanal hand made chocolates and hot chocolate based drinks. We have visited here many times and this is one of the best, if not the best, hot chocolate place in Chorlton/Manchester/the World...yes really...and we have tried too many to confess too. Chose the milk, choose the chocolate type, choose a temperature. Drink and then feel a little over indulged 😀 Small 16 cover type place with a few tables outside. Clean and tidy. Mellow vibe. 2022 update. No changes. Still the best hot chocolate around.

Save your time with Costa and the new cafe Nero. The really coffee shop experience is here. It's a classic menu with everything you need. Tye staff are warm and chatty. The shop smells like chocolate and coffee beans. I always come here and will always bypass the coffee giants for a chill in Coco tree. The girls had children's hot chocs. Delicious, packed with marshmallows cream and a complimentary chocolate frog (tempered, moulded and made in the back of the shop ) coffee and fruit teas are great too. see you next time!

If there IS a better place to get top quality coffee and chocolates in Manchester then we haven't found it! Been customers for 10 years so we're known by the staff and know them. My wife has a Mocha - superb - and I have oat milk latte, which is fabulous too, always served with a small chocolate on the side. When gift buying, we have often gone for their hand-made chocs, which can be selected individually for your own bespoke box, nicely packaged. The light bites available are tasty, but I rated 4/5 simply because the choice is limited. But it is a coffee shop rather than cafe so that's fine. I'm hoping this review doesn't attract new customers, cos' they may run out of room for us!

This is my favourite coffee shop! The chocolate is excellent and the staff are lovely human beings. I always feel at home there, and speaking as a chocolatier in another life, the chocolate is high quality and phenomenal.

I had an absolutely delicious dark hot chocolate - so beautiful! I was impressed that they offered different milks - I chose oat milk. The service was very good and the cafe was lovely with plenty of places to sit.

Lovely white hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, and a side of strawberry chocolate callets. As any true chocolate fan would recognise, the callebaut callets used, are one of the finest example of Belgium chocolate, so you know its going to be good, and yep, it delivered here. Great taste, well presented, it's evident they know what they're doing when it comes to making the perfect hot chocolate.

Such a gorgeous new cafe in the centre of Ramsbottom. My children adore the baby cino here! And the chocolates are to die for! We love it and recommend to all. Staff are sooo friendly and welcoming ❤️

One of my favourite cafes in Manchester been coming here for a few years now and they never disappoint. I enjoy the atmosphere there it’s so cosy especially on a rainy day. The staff are lovely and Mimi is always so welcoming. Would highly recommend the mocha it’s exceptionally good. Can’t recommend this place enough

Amazing hot chocolate, homely atmosphere, friendly staff. Great place to work. Genuinely one of the best hot chocolates I've had. They had options for white, milk, or dark chocolate. You can also add cow milk or non-dairy milks including oat, coconut, and soy milk. The dark chocolate was vegan if I remember correctly. They also have in-house flavourings such as hazelnut parline and salted caramel. I went for the dark hot chocolate with oat milk and hazelnut parline (that I dissolved/mixed into the chocolate). It was divine. They also have a variety of in-house baked goods including cookies, brownies, and crossants. They also had some vegan cookies for those interested. I worked at the café for a few hours. I was writing my PhD thesis and it was a lovely atmosphere to work in. They also have power plugs next to some of the indoor tables along the wall. Definitely a nice place to chill and work too for those interested. It does get busy during some times. So I would be thoughtful when working here like any other cafe. Last but not least, the staff were really friendly! They gave lots of recommendations, and are really helpful with dietary requirements. The place is slightly pricier than some places. Drinks cost about £3-5. But, they are definitely worth the small premium! I would definitely recommend!!

Absolutely love Cocoa Tree! From the flat white and chai latte to the croissants and cakes, this place is one of my favourites. The hand made chocolates are delicious, especially the salted caramel ones but honestly there aren’t any I’ve tried that I’ve not liked, and they have a vegan chocolate selection too. Go try them, you won’t be disappointed ❤️

This is a small cafe with outside seating too and you can also buy little chocolate bags and gift sets. It was quite busy but my friend and I were able to get a table easily. The service is very good and our food arrived after a short wait. I would definitely go back there again

Gorgeous chocolates!! 100% nicer than your Dairy Milks or Galaxys! I came in for coffee and cake which I enjoyed by the window watching the world go by. The staff are so lovely and the cake was delicious - vegan too! Great coffee and then I treated myself to some chocolates on the way out which were delightful. Highly recommend 😊
