The Laterns are just an amazing experience! Quiet, calm and serene experience. Chester Zoo just make this a quality event. All the staff from the car park, the entry to the catering teams and the performers is just brilliant! We loved it just as a couple and kids of all ages will love it. Well done guys!

One of the most magical zoos in England. We been here several times and never have enough time to see it all in one day I'm recommend to visit Island as well . Walk around or boat trip ( waiting time can be up to one hour , but experience is unforgettable)

This is a department store for your home. It sells gardening products, aquarium things, decorations as well as toys, books and tableware. I’m happy to have seen many Christmas decorations. The singing animals are fun for children. Good to walk around there.

Beautiful garden centre, plenty of variety. Restaurant bright and cheerful, had a coffee and cake which was good. Only complaint is there was only one member of staff on the main tills. It was 12.20 pm so not really acceptable. Customer in front of us had a problem so it took 10 mins to pay for items. The young man on the till was very apologetic.

Service was fine, staff were pleasant and friendly. Price of food and coffee was fair. A shame you have to walk all the way through the garden centre to get to the cafe, could do with a separate entrance.

Beautiful place with lovely furniture with reasonable prices. However the service I received at the cafe from Linda was extremely rude when I politely requested a certain type of milk which was an option on their board. The coffees hadn’t even been prepared and the request was placed well in advance so I was confused why the fridge needed to be slammed and there was no need to glare and sigh. The experience was embarrassing but for some reason she was just as rude to the customer waiting in line. Whoever gave this nasty woman a job clearly needs to assess her customers service skills . Due to the embarrassment and that lunch was ruined by her we will certainly never return to this garden centre .

I went here for a snack to eat. No problem parking for all people. Entrance for all people. Went to a table obtained number and went till and ordered food n drink, service was fast and professional. Food was very good and competitive in price. This could quite easily be a 5 star rating. Will be going back there to go over shop and garden centre.

Staff are lovely, but because of the offer of scones, badly organised. Needed more staff, to cope.... Good offer, so invited, perhaps more than usual participants....but, should always be prepared ...

My friend Christine, visited this fab Garden Centre on the 24th November and bought this lovely plant, she will be keeping it indoors for now and planting it out in the spring. It's thriving and healthy and looks so good in her kitchen.

Chester zoo is a wonderful place to visit. It's big enough that you can come back multiple times to explore different areas, especially if you like to take your time when looking at the animals. You can easily spend the whole day, or just a few hours. There are multiple zones within the zoo with different themes, such as the Islands. There are plenty of places to eat to suit every budget. You have grab and go type places, indoor eating, and more upscale dining. If you dont want to spend money on food, there are lots of sunny places to eat on the grass or plenty of picnic tables to enjoy the food you bring from home. If your kids get bored or have too much energy, there are several play areas to enjoy. They are well kept and well thought out. They are suitable for multiple ages and are big enough for parents to join in if you have young or nervous children. There are so many learning opportunities. There are information displays for each animal, detailing things such as habitat, diet, behaviours and country of origin. They also have other displays scattered around the zoo aimed at conservation, recycling, and endangered animals. They also have animal talks throughout the day, where you can learn more and even ask questions. All in all, this is a wonderful place to visit and fabulous outing for people of all ages.

Had a great time out at Chester Zoo on a Tuesday in mid December. Fairly quiet so if you're not a fan of crowds - now is the time to go! Everything seemed to be open other than than the Fruit Bats enclosure.

  • 4/5 Bronwen W. 3 years ago on Google
It was pretty cold but totally worth it as there were no crowds. They were setting up the lanterns which was pretty. Only downside was the awful coffee (sorry!)and the lack of options in the gift shop but considering everything going on that's fair. Would definitely go again but maybe when it is warmer! Good social distancing measures in place, felt very safe.

  • 5/5 Velmurugan S. 3 years ago on Google
Very nice for all age groups. Good facilities for disabled and challenged. Lot of animals. Good view points. Food options inside is bad.. Should be improved. Butterfly park and penguins are the best. Jaguar was majestic.. Double buggy can accommodate 2 kids only if they are less than 6-7 years. If anyone is more than that, better to go for 2 single buggies.. Enjoy.. 👍

  • 5/5 Peter A. 3 years ago on Google
Great place, my children love it, especially the penguins. We went to the Lanterns event as well and I must say I was hugely impressed by everything. I will definitely be returning many times.

  • 5/5 Nicole G. 3 years ago on Google
Love this place, its massive we so much to see and lots of parks for the kids. With little ones might be worth considering doing half a day as it is so big (or you can hire a push bug) cant wait to return after lockdown!

I love Chester Zoo, it's a great place to spend a good few hours with plenty to look at. Always take a day off in the week to visit though....saves the crowds!!

  • 5/5 Charlonzo H. 3 years ago on Google
I love Chester Zoo! While I am off for half-term I would have gone but with COVID and lockdown it hasn't happened but I love the virtual zoo tours so my partner and I have spent a few days watching those!

  • 5/5 Steph S. 3 years ago on Google
An amazing place to visit, so much to see and do at Chester Zoo. Thete is certain areas that have "Free flying" animals and bugs, so be prepared to have birds, bat's and bees fly around you. Chester Zoo is the best zoo I have every visited, will return again.

  • 5/5 Philip K. 3 years ago on Google
I love this place, you need two days to see everything properly.

  • 5/5 Kapil H. 3 years ago on Google
I have been to this Zoo and all the staff including the owner look after all of the animals with plenty of tender loving care, with kindness and plenty of love and warmth. I would recommended everyone to come to this wonderful zoo. All of the staff in general are good at looking after all of the animals very nicely and they are exceptionally very good at their job. This is one of my favourite zoo's. Once again I would definitely recommended everyone in the whole world to come and visit this exceptionally marvellous and beautiful zoo. In adding all of the staff that work at this Zoo have Exceptionally lovely personalities.

My family are members of the zoo and have been for many years, we're lucky enough to live fairly close so we visit at every available opportunity, and it's changed so much since we started going that it never gets boring. A wonderful place for a day out, the food and drinks can be expensive so take a picnic, there are loads of places to stop to eat and they're doing great conservation work. The staff are all really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Can't recommend it enough

Tables well spaced out...service was quick and friendly. We had comfort food- fish finger sandwich with a small side salad very enjoyable. My only negative would be the coffee being so strong and bitter that's from two coffee lovers.

  • 4/5 Ron T. 1 year ago on Google
Our favourite garden center. They have everything for your garden. A nice cafe with good selection of food and beverages but their scones are far too thin and resemble a biscuit and NOT worth the money. Please do something about these.

  • 3/5 Craig B. 2 years ago on Google
A good range of plants but not a good range of pots to keep them in. We bought a venus fly trap (which we love) but couldn’t find a pot that was the right size that they were selling. A lovely shop, if not a bit on the pricy side of things.

  • 1/5 Steven P. 1 year ago on Google
Public Internet not working. Apparently hasn't worked for some time despite being informed. Seems to be a cynical attempt to stop people searching for similar products online, while in the garden centre, and 'encouraging' them to spend in store.

  • 5/5 Mr G. 1 year ago on Google
Good selection of plants which seem to be watered regularly. Nice cafe, clean and nice food.

  • 4/5 Dave T. 1 year ago on Google
Main reason for visit was the restaurant and loo. The food looked very appetising but it was a bit too early for a large meal so settled for scone and coffee. Coffee was good and the cherry scone just had the edge on the cheese one. Nice garden centre, well worth a visit.

  • 2/5 William H. 1 year ago on Google
No soap in the toilets again. I have repeatedly reported no soap in the ladies toilets, we were in the garden centre cafe last Thursday and the soap dispensers were empty, we've been in again this morning and still all four dispensers were empty, obviously hadn't been re-filled, I reported this yet again. A serious hygiene issue here which needs resolving.

  • 5/5 Lyn B. 5 years ago on Google
A most enjoyable visit - slow and unhurried. Pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed coffee and cake in the very pleasant outdoor cafe area. Parking was very easy. A great range of items - from gardening to clothes, from books to outdoor furniture .

  • 5/5 Judie B. 9 months ago on Google
My friend and I visited here on a weekday lunch time. We had a good wander around the clothes and the flowers. The clothes are not my style and obviously not that popular judging by the fact that most of them were greatly reduced. The plants and flowers were a different story. Really lovely plants and very tempting . Many I would love to have in my garden. We had lunch, soup and a sandwich. Very good soup and we shared the sandwich. Beautifully presented and more than enough for a lunch. Coffee was good too. The dining area is quite big, but decorated attractively. Worth a visit.

  • 3/5 Ian S. 9 months ago on Google
Nice garden centre. Odd items on offer at great prices, but things in the shop mostly pretty pricey tbh. Actual plants are averagely priced. Nice cafe, though my idea of a regular sized cappo isn't exactly the same as their's. Good coffee though. As was the Americano. If I could level a constructive criticism though, praps add the inside faces of the Dyson blade hand driers to the cleaning regime for the toilets.

  • 5/5 Liz R. 9 months ago on Google
Nice lunch in the cafe. One member of staff at the till a bit bossy. The others very nice. Lovely shop to wander round on another rainy day

  • 5/5 JOHN R. 9 months ago on Google
We visited World Of Water who are establishing themselves very nicely after moving from Thorley Lane in Timperley. As always the help and advice was expert and professional but put in terms you can understand. Lee who took care of us made sure we had everything we needed and took time to listen to our requirements before trying to sell us stuff we didn’t need or understand how to use. Matt who runs World Of Water has retained the feel of the old place and the expertise needed and made it work in the new site. I highly recommend a visit for all your aquatic needs be it indoor or outdoor.
