I have used this branch to both buy glasses and have glasses delivered from another branch. Overall, the service was okay .... if very much like a production line ... and for this reason I've added an extra star. Recently, l trod on my Specsavers glasses squashing one of the nose rests and badly bending one of the arms. I straightened them myself, but wasn't happy that l had done it properly. So, on 13 June, made a special trip into Altrincham to get my glasses checked ... I am a pensioner, just so we know where we are. At the entrance to the store, l was met by a young man who asked if l had an appointment. When I explained what my problem was, I could see that, as l wasn't buying anything, his sole aim was to get rid of me. While keeping me standing at the door, he said that the staff was very busy and that l would have to wait a 'long time'. When I asked how long, he said 20 minutes. As I had already made a special journey, I said that this was okay ... so he reluctantly let me in. Once inside, the young man asked to see my glasses and said that they looked okay 'to him'. I said that they didn't look okay to me and I would like to get them checked. There were 3 customers in the shop, so l settled down to wait. The assistant then collared one of the staff and showed him my glasses saying 'these are okay, aren't thing?' Talk about a leading question! The staff member, who was dealing with someone else, looked at my glasses hurriedly and said he could see that they were bent, but that I'd done a good job straightening them (translation: yes they are bent, but, as we can't charge you, I'm not going to do anything). In short, rather than waiting and receiving proper attention, I was bum-rushed out of the shop in less than 5 minutes. Thank you very much! Do you think I'm going back to you when l need new glasses? No! Do you think I will recommend you to others? No! To end, I was walking through Seaford a couple of weeks later and, as l wasn't happy with my glasses, took them in to Specsavers there. The assistant greeted me in a friendly why and said that she could see my glasses were bent and needed straightening. She took them away and gave them back in less than 2 minutes: I doubt if I was in the shop for more that 4 minutes. I guess the moral of the story is clear. Altrincham Specsavers you should show more respect to (elderly) customers, even when you aren't selling them anything.

Lots of advertised deals that got me through the door, but strangely they evaporated in the small print. The glasses the adverting led me to believe would be a reasonable price would have actually cost me at least 3 times more! It’s a bit like buying double glazing. On top of that I still didn’t buy all the add-ons such as anti-reflective coatings that they were trying to sell me as that would have really have pushed the price through the roof! If you believe the advertising, all the extras are included in one of their ‘great deals.’ Again, read the small print. Their advertising is more than misleading.

Very helpful when my husband attended an urgent eyecare appointment recently. Optician was very thorough and much more knowledgeable than a previous optician he saw for his new eye condition. He will be using them as his regular optician now.

Specsavers@Alty have been spot on with their service over many years I have visted them. Sobia was super efficient and spot on during my visit with my eyes prescription and eye examination. Only wish, they had more choice of frames with some other popular brands like Rayban. Best wishes

Gareth went above and beyond to provide an excellent level of customer service, taking the time and trouble to run through all of the possible options available to me, and processing my order with care and attention.

Julie the Audiologist did a great job caring for my 86 Yr old mum with some space age (and far too expensive) hearing aids. Parking was an issue.

My wife visited to get her vision checked after having cataracts in both eyes operated on. The optician was extremely thorough and explained everything clearly. Two weeks now until my new glasses are ready, can't wait. Thank you.

Go to b&m they will last longer & much better service. This company compare themselves to a gp, which is laughable! You need an appointment for an appointment here. My glasses have broken 5 times now. You have to have an appointment just to explain this. I would stir clear they are an utter shambles & cheap & nasty glasses that will break just looking at them.

Specsavers Nov do hearing tests as well as sight tests. Staff always pleasant and shop always clean and tidy. They like you to wear a mask in store and only have a limited number of customers in at a time

Glasses delivered on time but the fitting experience was terrible. They didn’t fit comfortably and the arms I considered were too long. Also one of the larger nose pads that I had fitted came off within 4 days. My previous glasses that were bought on line for £100 less and fitted perfectly.

I still think it's a bit weird that Specsavers think that Covid protocols are still needed! But, that aside...great service. Couldn't fault it is any way. Everything was explained without using jargon that us mere mortals wouldn't understand! Glasses were ready as stated and are wonderful! 10 out of 10. (maybe 9.5, as there's no need for masks etc).

First time in Altrincham store. Took my mums glasses in after breaking them in a fall. Think it was Conor that helped me. Such a lovely man. He changed lens into new glasses there and then. Asked him to bend the arms to exactly same as old ones. He did and my mum was very pleased. Fitted perfectly. Very impressed. Thankyou Conor. Appreciate your help and excellent service.

I am very satisfied with all my dealings with Specsavers. I find all the staff to be professional, friendly and helpful. Connor was particularly patient and helpful when helping to sort out my choice of frames and their fit. The prescription sunglasses I chose have been a great hit with people stopping me in the street to comment on how stylish my sunglasses are. Julia too was professional, calm and explained very helpfully what she was about to do. Thank you to all staff at Specsavers, Altrincham.

I have always received excellent care from Specsavers. They were especially superb after a recent eye infection. I'm only knocking off one star as they don't have the biggest selection of glasses to choose from in comparisen to their other, larger stores. For Altrincham however the range is about par. With their Covid policiy customers have to attend alone. This is a problem as, in my case my vision is weak enough that I cannot see myself in the mirror when trying on new pairs of glasses. As my wife was not permitted entry I was entirely reliant on the store staff to choose glasses for me. I think specsavers should reconsider this policy.

Excellent service and a good selection of glasses. Aneera and Nahid were very knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a most challenging review to write. This is because in this centre one can receive professional service from most employees but the manager (E.M)tried to manipulate rules when it came to the sale!! In my case, I was given a golden voucher which I did not ask for. However, when I have asked to use it to buy sunglasses with 50% discount she started telling me conditions which meant I was not eligible. When asked where is this was in shop policies or in writing, she indicated to the voucher which allegedly detailed the information however when asked to elaborate it became clear that the voucher did not explain her avoidance. A similar thing happened to my wife using the golden voucher two weeks ago Employee name is (AC). We have not used them anyway and paid in full previously. My concern is if the store provides a voucher they should honour it otherwise, it is better to stop using this promotion. In business term this considered as misconduct and should not be tolerated.

The Opticians at Specsavers are very nice and friendly and speak to the customers in layman's terms so as not to blind us with science (pardon the pun!!) Altogether a calm and 'eye-opening' experience. Recommended.
