    I initially joined JW Fitness because I wanted to get fitter to help me with recurring back pain. I had struggled in other gyms as I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and I always felt intimidated in the free weights section. I have been a member at JW fitness for a year now, training in the semi PT sessions and I absolutely love it. I’ve improved my fitness and discovered a love for strength training in the process. The team at JW fitness are amazing, they will learn about your individual strengths and weaknesses, they help you train around injuries and will help you to achieve your goals, no matter how big or small, you just need to keep turning up and put the effort in. The best part is that you will enjoy it too, there’s a fantastic community at the gym and everyone is really supportive of each other. Joining was the best decision I’ve made for my long term health and fitness and I highly recommend them.

    Top gym, top trainers. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommended JW Fitness to anyone looking to achieve their goals. I’ve been at it 3 months now, already noticed a huge difference and the biggest thing… actually enjoying training. Honestly cannot recommend them enough. Ant and John are a pleasure to work with.     I came to John for some desperate Tough Mudder training after failing miserably at my 5th classic. It was just by chance on a google search and I've never worked with a PT before. I contacted him on Monday with an initial enquiry, the next day I was in his gym having my assessment! He responded so quickly which meant I could start training. By Thursday of the same week, my 5 week training plan was in place. I would be working out at home, no gym and with no gym equipment. The initial assessment was thorough and he showed me the proper way to do everything which turned out to be invaluable! The workouts were hard work but everything was clear and the online platform is really effective. You can post the results of your workout as well as pictures and videos which was helpful for me because I was at home. John can comment back as well which is good, if something needs to change it can, so it can be flexible. For me, my main goal was upper body strength. I used to be able to do the monkey bars and on 1st August I dropped at the first bar. By 5th September? All the way across!! Kind of, I couldn't get onto the last wheel but it wasn't for the lack of strength. I was also able to run around the course as well without getting out of breath which isn't easy. John definitely got me in shape and he listened to what was important to me. He listened to what I wanted, what I was able to do as well as what I couldn't do and as we went through the weeks, the workouts stayed relevant to where I was at. When some things were too hard I couldn't do them, next time they would be different so I could achieve the goal in a different way. Sometimes it's more about your mindset than your ability! I would recommend John and if I need to I would work with him again in the future.

    Working out in lock down is tough there's no doubt, but John has really nailed the Zoom session framework. The sessions are great at providing a full body workout to combat all the extra time spent sitting at home, they allow you to work to your own level and he's very encouraging throughout. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

    John has been a fantastic resource for us. Running a business can be tough at the best of times, you have to split your focus between technical delivery, management and looking out for employees. During the recent COVID-19 lockdown, it’s been hard to bring the people that make our business who we are together in the way that we normally do. Being a team is part of our identity and John has been providing group PT sessions for us. It’s been a hugely positive experience with nearly 30 people joining at times. Despite the range of abilities and fitness levels in our team, John has developed a programme which provides variety and adapts to each individual’s capabilities.

    I joined JWF back in July 2021 on the semi personal training sessions . I had to face the realisation that the covid lockdown weight has reached to a silly weight on the scales . I lack confidence working out at open gyms. I needed some focus and a schedule work out. The gym suits those needs perfectly John was honest, professional and really is informative on what my targets were to be. I train with Anthony. He really explains every exercise, pushes you to your limits and is really knowledgeable. I would highly recommend!

    Never been a fan of using a gym (prefer the outdoors) but needed rehab for an injury so went to John for Strength & Conditioning work. Never looked back. John set out my specific training plan that would help me reach my goals. John has tremendous knowledge of the muscle groups and inspires confidence in oneself. The gym is very inclusive and welcoming. Can't recommend highly enough.

    I’d been a member of a commercial gym previously but never had the confidence to reach the goals at what I was aiming for. JW Fitness has taught me the methods to move forward both physically and mentally. With a great team and friendly members I can’t imagine life without this gym. I’d highly recommend to anyone.

    Fantastic Gym with fantastic Staff who make you feel great about yourself, I was overweight and slightly weak when I joined now I'm thinner, leaner and a lot stronger as well as my confidence has gone up. 11/10 would recommend this place

    I've found that not all personal trainers are the same. John and his team are different, and it's all in the attention to detail. I'm in my mid 50s and a keen cyclist. I have a small but annoying on going issue with my back so as well as wanting to maximise my fitness I need advice and exercise sessions that help my back problem. JW have quietly, but effectively got on with this and with no special fuss have helped me achieve a level of fitness where I enjoy my biking even more than before. Recommended.
