Anthony Josephson, and Kelly who advises about frames, are knowledgeable and thorough, at the cutting edge of eye health and the most modern and effective solutions to any given problem or combination of problems. They offer an astonishing range of frames and, after her first visit to M+J, my 80-year-old mother is excited by the prospect of a new look, more interesting than her usual, yet discreet and understated. Her new glasses are light, comfortable and easy to wear. My mother is delighted with both product and service. When I need new glasses myself, I will certainly be going to Maskell + Josephson.

I describe Maskell & Josephson as futuristic they just need a Star Trek style transporter to get me to and from appointments. In all honesty, I was blown away by the in depth and professional eye examination at this wonderful independent optometrist. I’ve come from an emergency services background where eye examinations were compulsory. Non of the eye examinations I’ve ever had have been anywhere near as reassuringly thorough as this one! I won’t be going to any other optometrist in future. Maskell & Josephson is the future!

Visited on Wednesday 18th May with my husband after making appointments to discuss the frame offer currently available, as we hadn't changed our glasses in some time, as there hadn't been sufficient change in our prescriptions. We received a very warm and friendly greeting as well as a brew, which was much appreciated. Kelly looked after us and after discussing our frame preferences, found several frames that were either similar to the ones we have or completely different as we had mentioned being open to trying something different. When we reached our final choices, Kelly was very open and honest with her assessment of what looked best on us as well as suiting the lenses needed and nothing was too much trouble. We finalised our orders and left feeling very well looked after and very valued. The focus from this company has always been on the customer and this has continued and grown following Anthony taking over the business. We highly recommend these opticians who always puts the needs of their customers first. Thank you to everyone who looked after us during our visit.

I have been a client of Maskell + Josephson for approximately 30 years. Having a genetic eye condition (that can deteriorate and requires close monitoring), it’s always been important to me to have the best clinical advice possible, supported by industry leading diagnostic equipment. Maskell + Josephson have never failed to provide that level of service, be that previously from Ross, or latterly from Anthony Josephson. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the service second to none and the clinicians are not only knowledgable, but take the time to explain issues in a comprehensive, but easy to understand manner. To put it bluntly, if I lived anywhere else, I’d still return there, they’re that good.

I visited for a check up last week. The staff are always warm and friendly, informative about what they are doing and why. Very patient too. The shop and examination room are always spotlessly clean. Parking is a bit of an issue at present, but should improve as nearby building work is completed. All in all, it's always a pleasure to visit

Absolutely bowled over with my new glasses and the level of customer service and attention to detail. However pleased you are with your choice of frames, they must be comfortable and fit correctly, especially for those with complex prescriptions. When it comes to dispensing, Kelly is a perfectionist; no adjustment is too much trouble for her to ensure that both the comfort and fit are spot-on.

I recently went for my check up. Mr Josephson was excellent as always. Having had an eye operation around 15 years ago, I am always anxious in case a major problem arises. Mr Josephson is very thorough and reassuring. The equipment is totally amazing and I came away feeling very happy everything was in order.

Having seen the advertisement for dry eye specialists in the Lymm Life magazine. I made an appointment at the Altrincham opticians and went along with no hope really of ever getting to be able to open my eyes properly. I had been to Warrington Hospital. However, they don't have the machines that Maskell's have. I was just given drops. I saw Ben who thoroughly looked into my eyes and believe me they are really sore and severe dry eye. He gave me steroid eye drops which didn't work. I knew their were other options but he thought we would try steroids first. My next appointment was due. I returned and saw Ben who advised to try clear contacts. At first I thought we would not get them into my eyes. Ben actually put them in for me I was expecting a week or so to take effect they actually worked the same day. This is the first time I have been able to open my eyes properly in 2 years even though I have had dry eye for years. I can see without squinting. I felt absolutely calm when I walked out of the opticians that day. Ben is brilliant and so patient. I just feel so better especially going out into the sun was so hard. I would definitely recommend Maskell and Josephson to everyone. Due to the company being private they do a payment plan which is also brilliant. They have a shop in Warrington as well.

Fantastic service from all the office staff when making appointment and answering enquiries prior to regular vision checks by Anthony. All clear received after numerous tests to ensure everything sight wise was in order. Clean bill of health, no pressure to change lenses or frames and everyone very happy.

I wish I could rate this practice ONE MILLION stars. They're absolutely fantastic - I have been a patient for about the last seven years now and the service has always been 100% Anthony helped me with my application to obtain an aviation medical back in 2017. He is a very skilled optician as well as a friendly, personable guy. He has all the latest technology and, like everything in life, you get what you pay for. The front of house staff are also very welcoming & helpful. Retail-wise, the shop caters for a wide variety of budgets and lens options. It is a very impressive range indeed. Covid-19 mitigation... All great! They have these cool little UV boxes you can put your 'tried on' glasses into, which apparently sterilise any germs. They also have perspex screens and masks etc. You can definitely trust these guys to support & maintain your ocular health. Thanks again.

I was never able to get fitted out properly for contact lenses by the two main high street shops but after seeing Graham at the Warrington branch and testing many free samples, I am now comfortable with my lenses. Great service from both Graham & Joan.

I moved from my previous optician just over twelve months ago and, I can honestly say that I am really pleased that I did. Maskell + Josephson have provided me with first class help in alleviating a lot of the problems I had been having with dry eyes.
