Excellent place to go and eat. Lovely relaxed environment with excellent service from the team. Food is tasty and well cooked. The menu is quite varied also. We'll worth a visit.

Didn't book walked in Sunday evening, staff more than happy to accomodate us even when busy cleaned a table for us very welcoming. The Sunday roasts excellent value for money the beef cooked perfectly and plenty of it. Lovely atmosphere great staff, well worth a visit we will be back for sure

Wow ! I cannot explain just how much this pub exceeded my expectations. Utterly fabulous menu, simple, easy to read and something for everyone. The staff were all warm, friendly and welcoming in what truly is a family and dog friendly environment. The food, oh my word the food.....just outstanding, and lots of it. Good range of beer and cider on draft, as well as the usual bottles and spirits. Such a great place to stop for a meal, reasonably priced, and an absolute gem of a find. Half a dozen bottles of single malt whisky behind the bar and i dont think that I would want to leave. If you only have one bar meal this year....it should be here.

I have eaten prawn cocktail and hunters chicken. The food is excellent and the staff are very efficient (not to mention good looking lads too), very reasonable prices make this a definite five star review. Give this pub a try.

The lady who was serving, I think she said was the owner of the pub, was very friendly, welcoming & polite even when a couple the customers were bit impatient as she was on her own serving/waiting on. My teenage additional needs daughter wants to return, especially now the lady was so nice to her and knows they gave a darts board 🤣.

Went for the first time today, had a lovely family lunch. Relaxed atmosphere with friendly and efficient service. The food was cooked to a high standard and very good value for money. The pub as a whole had wonderful atmosphere.

Great warm welcoming atmosphere, the beer is in tip top form, Chris has really made a effort to deliver- by far the best tasting original bitter I've had had in here! Great work!

Nice staff, good atmosphere and the food is excellent. Owner put a massive effort in during the pandemic to make it as safe as possible for all. BBQ ribs are amazing. And a Propper Sunday lunch at a very good price.

Visited lunchtime on 29th Dec 2022; had lovely food and was looked after by staff courteously. Nothing was too much trouble whilst busy.

Not been to the Wheatsheaf for years, so was delighted to see the refurb inside. Staff were attentive. We had the Fish Pie, best I've had👍😁. Plus a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, always good. Stopped for the Quiz & enjoyed a lovely evening with old friends. Thanks, Wheatsheaf.

Nicely refurbished pub. They coped very well with a large group all ordering at the same time. Standard pub grub but we presented and fairly priced.

Popped in for an impromptu meal on Sunday. They had tables reserved, but managed to put us on one - we had an hour and a half. We didn't have starters or puddings so were finished within an hour. Food was good, service quick and friendly. Only slight criticism is the toilets were small and a bit smelly. Would go again.

First time here & really enjoyed every aspect of this pub. Great food/drinks. They must be doing smthg right as it was really busy for a Wed lunchtime. Really nice pleasant helpful staff. Thinking about moving to this area & would be really happy😊 if this was our local. By the way,not sure what the barmans name is, but hope his head recovered after his 'accident' (carried on smiling😃 though!! )

Looks lovely since being done up. All staff members have been really friendly and welcoming, it was a popular Sunday afternoon but service has been fast and we were not kept waiting. The traditional turkey Sunday lunch was lovely and fresh and the dessert was just 😍

Well what can I say things have definitely improved from last time when I called and there was no food but today Sunday , the 15th of April Phoned to check the food was on and it was reserved a table for .2,30 pm lovely food lovely staff was made to feel quite welcome. Cannot recommend enough! The Sunday roast was delicious.the portions were beyond generous (had some boxed up to take home!) all the staff were warm, attentive and very accommodating. Excellent value for money,will definitely be going again

Clean & cosy. Good menu although many things were “not available”. Another staff member was needed. Waited over an hour for our meal. Long delays. Wrong meal served but too hungry to complain & send back. Will not be returning.

Beer and a burger was well good. Service excellent and nice friendly community pub vibe throughout the place. Felt friendly and welcoming. Traditional cask ale was served to a high standard and passed the CAT test. Highly recommended.

The beer is absolutely fantastic now the new manager Chris is here!! We are always welcomed with a smile and a bit of a laugh, long may he stay!!

Not acceptable. Visited on Sunday 11th December. A large group that arrived before us were complaining about their food, we thought maybe they were just fussy. We waited 50mins for food with no warning or apology and when it arrived it was cooked but was cold. Another couple of customers simply left when their food was served.

Starters were good, mains on the other hand were awful, one dish wasn’t cooked and another ‘mixed grill’ was over cooked. The roasties were like cutting into coals. Staff very friendly. Would not recommend.

Nicely renovated, friendly staff. Gluten free choices available. Good sized portions , not expensive with 2 meals for £15.

Really friendly family run place. Pizza, chicken and fish goujons all excellent. Sunday lunch under £10. Recommend it to everyone.

My family hired the marquee outside. It was perfect. The food (especially the Italian pizza) was absolutely stunning. The staff were brilliant and the boss was brilliant with everyone. Defo going to be regular visitor now. Thank you x

Went in with my wife tonight I don’t particularly like pub food generally but the prawns and the Barnsley chops were better than some top restaurants we frequented lately definitely worth trying see if I am wrong awesome 😎 well done chef 👍👍👍

Excellent food, amazing tast and portion size. Sat outside under a beautiful gazebo. Very relaxing peaceful atmosphere. Downside was the service side, waited ages, not offered salt or any sauces. Drink came after food, card payment messed up, refund given in cash.

The first time in this pub for a few years.Its been refurbished to a very high standard.We went in on a Wednesday lunch and had the two meals for 15 pounds.Exellent value and great portions. My husband had the gammon and I had the hunters chicken both served by a lovely friendly lady .We will be back and would strongly recommend this lovely pub

Waited well over an hour for food and it wasn't even busy!!!!! Also suggest the oil in the fryer needs changing as we ordered deep fried garlic mushrooms, deep fried squid starters and scampi as a main course. All the dishes came out the same colour dark brown not a nice golden brown which indicates the oil needs changing as it impedes the taste of the dish. Staff seemed ok but not apologetic about the long wait for food
