Awful place run by children who gave zero interest in helping people. Ordering was a nightmare and over a month later still waiting for the items to be delivered to the store. Will not be returning, instead will take my business to Petite Modes in Sale which is a much better experience.

don’t know if it was work experience week but when I visited I was greeted by six teenagers who looked as enthusiastic as a kid forced to an entrance exam and continued to chat providing zero help to my relentless pursuit of a pair of trousers that fit (there was none). Severely overpriced and I would’ve stayed 10m away from this place at all times if my school didn’t choose this particular supplier. The only star was for the only one staff out of the eight present in the store who tried her absolute best to assist me.

Very poor level of service which can only be explained by the monopoly on school uniforms that the company enjoys. Late orders, staff who don't care and don't know anything about the products they sell, telephone calls are never answered and emails which are ignored. It's time that the schools concerned did something about this and allowed other retailers to compete. Monkhouses appear to be incapable of delivering the goods in any sense.

Very poor. Ordered 23rd August, and as of writing still waiting for uniform from them (October!). Customer service non-existent - they've stopped answering phones and emails now. Absolute shambles but they have you over a barrel if they're your school supplier. If you have to use them, proceed with caution. Hopefully the school will choose another supplier.

I ordered some uniforms on 24th August, and up to mid Oct, there are no uniforms, no update, no apologies - a total shamble! As they do not reply emails, phone line was cut off, so I went to the store in Sept to check my order progress. I was told they were in warehouse, but after 2-3 weeks, they were still not shipped to the store in Altrincham, so I cancelled the whole £124 order. Luckily, I can buy similar Sixth form uniforms on highstreet, but for those who have no other options due to Monkhouse's monopoly, parents should make a complaint directly to each school's headteacher, and demand the school to offer more supplier choices, or simply change uniforms to where you can buy from highstreet, instead of Monkhouse. Monkhouse uniform prices are a totally rip off, customer service is non existent. They are not one of the worst retailers, but SIMPLY THE WORST!!

Disgusting how a shop is getting away with leaving children without a school uniform. Been waiting a month nearly for my click and collect order and still heard nothing. I emailed and got a reply back saying because of the amount of emails they are receiving they arnt replying back, noone answers the phones in store and you can't go in and get what you need unless you have an appointment.. i will never use them again and if the schools have anything about them they won't either !!!

Like many, still waiting on uniforms ordered early August. It's now mid October. You can't get a response from the phone or email so I'm now chasing a refund through my credit card company. I'm more than understanding about the current situation but please don't take money for orders you can't fulfill. Some communication would also help! I don't believe they are overwhelmed by dealing with customer queries when they don't actually respond to anyone. Total JOKE of a company

Absolutely shocking service, ordered more than 2 months ago and never received it. After a lot of effort, I managed to get to someone, who advised me to contact Royal Mail as a lost parcel? But I never had any parcel details and I was not the sender. Really disappointing customer service. Avoid if you can.

Extremely poor service at your Altrincham store today. I needed to pick up AGSB rugby kit and went into the shop. Was asked if we had an appointment - we said no. Then told there was no one available to help us. We got the kit ourselves and watched as four of your staff stood around, gossiping and checking their phones, no one willing to help us and an eye roll when we had a question about size. Completely unacceptable. Spending £94 with you and no one will to help us when not busy is a disgrace and an abuse of your position as sole supplier to the school.

Very slow with orders. Difficult to contact via phone and email!

Overpriced and very slow dispatch times! I tried to buy the PE kit in store but was told I needed to order online. I ordered 2 weeks ago and has still not been dispatched! Called up a few days ago and was told it’d be dispatched soon. Still no sign of an update. The staff in store were kind, shame about their stock and online service. There should be a new supplier for school uniform as there is lots of profit to be made and I’m sure with better warehouse operation, Monkhouse would be out of business.

They are my school clothes.provider and the quality of the clothes is superb. Very nice and all uniform available as well as some accessories 😀

Lovely people in the Altrincham store, but seems almost impossible to get an appointment. The opening times on google are wrong and they don't let you leave a message or confirm their opening times when you call. Don't even bother with the online ordering system. Delays of many many months, and then the order is cancelled anyway. Not fit for purpose. I don't know why buying uniform is now so difficult with this Monkhouse monopoly in place.

This place was very goo when they 2 separate businesses. Since the the monk house bought the other one, every thing is gone pear-shaped. The quality of this items are gone, the customer service/care is absolutely abysmal. The unfortunate is that they have monopoly of some of schools as well and we have bite the bullet and accept it.

I wish I could give zero stars. I’ve only used the shop twice and will travel to petite modes in sale for uniform from now on. Awful quality, awful service both times. I ordered 3 items of PE kit costing over £60 on 12/08 well within the order deadline for delivery before term. Shop told me it hasn’t been shipped and would be at least two weeks. They had the items in store but wouldn’t let me take it. I had to pay again, they told me I could ring and cancel my order but I’ve now been told I can’t cancel my order and have to wait for it to be delivered to store and then return it.

Beware, they will supply you a wrong size with correct label. You heard it correct. Ordered 34 waist , thrice sent me a skirt with 38 waist and 34 label. when inquired , reply was try 32 label. Don't go by label, measure it

Wanted to spend some money today with them but was told we couldn't come in without an appointment - by a member of staff who then just stood there doing nothing for the 10 minutes we stood outside booking an appointment which is all that we would have needed (son has most uniform, just looking for a few replacements as he has grown). As others have said the only reason they stay open is that they have a monopoly - I thought there had been legislation passed to stop this?
