We went for Dinner to the restaurant. The building is beautiful but the finish and furnishings are tatty and well past their best. I ordered potato and leek soup which was home made and lovely. My wife had the same. I ordered Gammon for the main. It came with frozen chips. My wife ordered a burger and it too came with frozen chips. And this is why I have scored the hotel a two. If they want to charge premium prices then they should be able to put some effort in and peel some potatoes. There was one poor guy running around behind the bar and in the restaurant while three people were sat in reception essentially doing nothing. When we went to reception to ask could we eat we were sent to the bar which was unstaffed because the poor guy was elsewhere running around. So we had to wait. Why they couldn't leave reception for all of two minutes to show us to a table is beyond me - helping their team mate out in doing so. So we score this hotel a lowly 2. .

I paid £120 for a one night stay with breakfast. The room was tired, full of unnecessary furniture and even though the bed looked massive and comfy, I soon realised it was two beds pushed together and could feel the join. The bathroom was adequate but all the tiles needed grouting and the shower head didn’t stay in the place you wanted it to be. Breakfast was poor, they had run out of nearly everything by 10 am despite it being advertised as available til 11 am. Staff were quite dopey, not sure what they should be doing. For the money I paid, my stay was disappointing and I would not recommend this hotel at all

My partner and I booked this hotel for the bed, breakfast and 3 course meal offer. We arrived a little before check in so had a drink in the bar area and played some board games. Which was all very pleasant. We stayed in room 329 which was huge with two beds (a double and a single) and a seating area. The bathroom had a spa bath which was a great little extra. Be sure to bring bubble bath to enjoy it fully. We found the room to be very comfortable, however the room was very cold. Despite having the radiator on max for several hours, we still had to request an additional portable heater to heat the room. The staff were very accommodating and attended to our request straight away. A definite highlight of staying here is the food. The 3 course meal we had was unbelievable. Our server was also very down to Earth and friendly (sadly did not get his name). The food was so incredibly tasty and well portioned. If I had to be picky, my only critique would be that I found the crumble topping quite hard on my teeth. Breakfast was served in the conservatory so it was nice to see all parts of the hotel. There was a good selection of hot and cold foods to chose from (cereals, cold meats, pastries, full English etc). Overall a great stay, and worthwhile visit if just for the food.

Having paid for a higher standard of room to treat ourselves for our anniversary we were met with accommodation which did not reflect what was advertised on the Internet, the ‘suite’ was much smaller and without doubt shabby and tired. My partner didn’t want to make a fuss as she didn’t want to ruin a special event…but it got worse..during the night the room above developed a link from the toilet or waste pipe, water came through the ceiling vent in the bathroom, this was past midnight. There was an offer of an alternative room but my partner had had enough - we checked out in the dead of night. The management initially refused to pay a refund but friends got word and some in particular rang and voiced their opinions. We were eventually refunded. There are other reviews on Google which reflect and validate this account. Avoid Avoid Avoid

The hotel is a little worn out but some may call it characteristic, stayed only for 1 night for work, bathroom has been refurbished well. The key card door lock had issues during my stay so would have been inconvenient if i left the room. Breakfast was good so overall quite decent.

We stayed here for one night after attending the celebration of our friends wedding. The staff were helpful and hard working but like so many hospitality venues just now appeared to be struggling with staff shortages. The food was good and the buffet plentiful. Our only disappointment was our room. We were in Highgrove which looks over the kitchen. The bed is very soft and the main complaint is a mechanical noise in the room. This impacts on your ability to sleep (writing this at 3am!).

We stayed here at the Mere Court Hotel for two nights as part of a birthday break away. The hotel rests in a quiet location a mile or two away from the quaint but rather posh Knutsford which I'll include a few photos of. Back to the hotel, it has that formal respectful feel with how it treats its guests with little to fault it. The room we stayed in was tidy and spacious with its own little seating area in the bay window area looking over the fields to the back, very peaceful. The food was excellent, we enjoyed evening meals and breakfast where the service was once again, formal, respectful but not too over the top. Bar prices meant experiencing either a sober or very expensive night. The grounds, though not massive in size, gave space to walk a little of the breakfast off. Due to layout and space, the car park is a very short walk from the hotel entrance but isn't a problem as you can drop off luggage before parking the car up. Overall I could recommend for a nice quiet relaxing stay.

The building is beautiful. The setting and grounds are equally outstanding. All complimented by the staff and high standards of dinner cuisine. Included is a photo from a request I made for plate and cutlery in my room as I had to get a takeaway while working in the evening. Staff took the extra care to provide a napkin and fold it in a stylised rose. Totally unnecessary, but really made a difference to how I felt and made a big difference to my evening. Beautiful place, matched by its people.

Although it was a nice location. The place was very shabby. Had ripped sheets and a broken bath which I slipped in. Waited 15 minutes to get served at bar as no staff. More concerned about being on phones. Very dissapointing.

Situated in rural Cheshire this is a great period venue with good and friendly staff. We attended a function here and very much enjoyed the experience. Parking could be better and is a little walk from the main entrance

We got married here in 2014, they did a good job. We returned this week simply to have a coffee, what a difference, had to ask three times to get someone to take an order, staff were at best not interested, had to pay in order in case we left without paying, bar area very dated. Disappointing

Arrived to smart but room with a strange smell. Tried to make a coffee and the kettle didn't work ( I think ot was the socket as the replacement didn't work in it). Drinks expensive but airport taxi excellent. Some. Beautiful features of its past (lovely wooden fire surround and stairway. Shame really.

Location is beautiful but the room and customer service is appalling the first room we had had hair in the bed blood on pillow and sheet showed this to a member of staff who showed us a new room which the bath was full with somebody's dirty water 3rd room they showed us none of the lights worked. Not one apology from any staff we ended up leaving and not staying the night and I'm still trying to get a refund now! I would never return to this place if it was the last place on earth!

I booked a massage for my fella through Groupon. Staff were friendly and made me a perfect cup of tea whilst I waited and I was told to help myself to biscuits. My fella had a back and scalp massage and said it was amazing and he was so relaxed he wanted to go to sleep afterwards. Top marks to the ladies who work there and we'll worth a visit. They offer beauty treatments as well as a massage service

Did a stay, park and fly here for Manchester Airport and it was great. The hotel is located in a quiet countryside area and they arrange a taxi to get you to and from the airport included in the price. The food was lovely although I wasn’t aware breakfast wasn’t included but no matter there was lots of choice. The whole experience made a long trip back to the U.K. end really smoothly with a fast and easy pick up from the airport and my car was all fine on my return. Thank you

Visited for my best friend's wedding, and had a room to stay overnight with some of the wedding party. Gorgeous location, the staff went above and beyond, they were so helpful, bubbly and professional they couldn't do enough for us and worked hard all day/night. Rooms are lovely, jacuzzi style baths, and the view out of our window was unreal. Breakfast was fab, lots of choice and they have milk alternatives - oat etc. Absolutely beautiful weekend 🤍

Lovely place, had a suite with 4 poster bed, grounds lovely. Breakfast wonderful, huge choice, sausages amazing. Expensive drinks, most staff great, one or two of having major strops, in full view of guests. Most did not see thankfully. Now.., look closely the decor is tired, peeling wallpaper, odd bits of pull outs in units, outer frames in need of attention, if they open at all. Would I stay there again, damn right 👍

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my husband here. Selected the vegetarian option and it was delicious. The gardens and scenery were nice.

Our favourite airport parking hotel. A bit further out but it has much more character than most airport hotels. Lovely grounds, too

Lovely historic venue. Comfortable room with period type bathroom. Evening meal was a bit disappointing, expected better from 2AA rosettes, but more than made up for with the superb breakfast. Will visit again but just B&B next time.

Great hotel. We spent one night here to visit Manchester. On arrival Laura was very friendly and chatty. She checked us in, and gave us lots of info, very quickly and efficiently. The room was beautiful with lovely furnishings (made a change from the usual chain hotels decor) Our evening meal in the cosy restaurant was delicious and we were well looked after by Luke and Catherine.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here, beautiful setting, peaceful and well maintained. Food was excellent, staff were lovely. We had a drink in the bar afterwards, prices on par with other places. Airport parking and overnight room package available. Visit the treatment room with Nikki for a relaxing time. Conference rooms available to hire. Lovely place.

We have used this hotel when flying abroad from Manchester airport on many occasions now. The superb and excellent value for money Park and Fly scheme is fantastic for starting your holiday off in a nice relaxing atmosphere. Dinner and a taxi to the airport included in our package to make the start of our holiday even simpler. Will definitely use this service again.

Went to the Xmas Party night. Food was pretty nice. Bar staff were poor. Tried to charge for a double when ordered single. Second drink put in a non gin glass them when poured into gin glass had fly in it. Charged differently to first bar man. Third drink was strawberry daiquiri from the tap which barman didn't know neded lots of ice!

What a lovely Xmas for me and my husband. Lovely place great staff warm welcome. Food lovely. The room was fantastic four poster bed great veiw. Only thing I didn't like was going for dinner it was really uncomfortable and painfully silent. You had to whisper to have a conversation. I asked the waiter could we have the 3 course meal in our room no problem at all and was delicious. With great service Breakfast was great to. Even with the dinner experience. Would definitely recommend and go back. Thank you.

Lovely place and setting. The staff were fantastic and happy to help with anything. We had the three course dinner and it was absolutely delicious! A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Rooms are very good and breakfast was too but with our evening meal we were given our food and then just left. No one did a table check and we didn't receive our side orders and weren't able to mention it until our plates were cleared. However we were offered a complimentary drink and staff were very apologetic.

We booked an executive suite. The room resembled nothing to that of those advertised on the website and if this was an executive room, I’d dread to think what the standard rooms are like. The room was dark, the bed was poorly made, the windows were difficult to open and close and only one out of the three lamps worked. The waiters were lovely and very helpful though

Room a good size, bed firm but comfy. Welcome was pleasent but had to wait 20 after 3pm check in time which is already a late time. Restaurant, goat cheese starter was over engineered and you could barely taste the goats cheese, t £9, a rip off. Burger good on the whole but dry, fries excellent. Check-out, was looking to charge us for dinner until we produced proof that we'd paid in advance and so info not on thier system.

Very nice hotel, well appointed rooms, great food and pleasant attentive staff. We linked our stay to a murder mystery event. All in all an excellent experience.

Food was delicious but drinks are so so expensive I also advise you to stay away from the house red because that stuff is not nice.

We went for afternoon tea. The settings are really nice, you can have a little walk and take pictures etc, can see why it's a popular spot for weddings. As for the afternoon tea, the food was of great quality, fillings were on the generous side and the cakes were light and fluffy, everything tasted excellent. We was also given a complementary Prosecco as we were told to wait for our seating and I think we were forgot about.... All round excellent experience.

Stayed here for one night for a wedding. The room was very spacious albeit a bit dated. The bathroom was very clean and bedding was clean. Unfortunately the downside was the lack of staff at the bars I waited nearly 20 minutes to get served on a couple of occasions the young girl was doing her best but was on her own you would think with it being a wedding on more staff would have been available.

Can't complain about anything really. Young barman was professional and polite even though he was doing 10 jobs at once. We had the gammon steak in the bar, the steak could of done with being rested before plating up as the plate got a little swamped by juice /fat.....but we enjoyed it none the less. Comfy bed, clean room, jacuzzi bath and nice buffet breakfast.

Fantastic experience staff really friendly afternoon tea is gorgeous. Really recommend if you book through directly or through groupon voucher. Fresh sandwiches and scones were fantastic. Will be visiting here again the location is lovely and we sat in a little room off to the side and was overall great.

Had afternoon tea with my mum. Pleasant experience. Lady serving was lovely and helpful. Watched a wedding so was nice bit of violin music. Bit of a shock at price of 2 prosecco's but its a one off not something we do often.

  • 2/5 Susan J. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely location and grounds however the room was bit dated and could have done with a deep clean, cobwebs and spiders in the corners. Bathroom was clean but the shower screen was leaking at the corner so the floor became soaking. Bed was comfortable but I wouldn't stay again.

  • 3/5 Andrew N. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are big, clean and the beds are very comfy. The location is excellent and great for getting to the airport. Staff however are the slowest I've ever encountered. Spent 15 minutes waiting to get checked in with only one person in front of us in the line. Then we went to the bar for a drink and spent 15 minutes with the disinterested barman ignoring us (we were the only ones at the bar). The drinks are expensive and you're certainly not paying for the service. The bar was covered in dirty glasses and the tables were quite mucky.

On first impressions this is a beautiful hotel and the staff are excellent, however on closer inspection our room was rather tired with wallpaper peeling in places, also the sleep was not good as the double we had ordered turned out to be two singles pushed together which meant if I rolled near the centre I would start to slip between the two mattresses. Having said that the overall experience was good.

This was such a cute place to stay in England. The rooms were well sized and had a beautiful claw foot tub. The restaurant had a wonderful dinner choice and a great breakfast choice. Would recommend.

A family group of eight booked an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast at the hotel. We dined in a private dining room, courtesy of the hotel which was excellent. The young lady who waited on us was very professional and she was very attentive throughout the evening regarding drinks. The food was superb! The large bedrooms although slightly dated were spotlessly clean. We would recommend a stay at the hotel and the family will definitely be making a return visit. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so great.

Fabulous country house hotel, Ideal location for Manchester Airport and the wider area including the Cheshire town of Knutsford. Superb standards throughout, immaculately clean with a very friendly and welcoming team. Ideal setting for a wedding or business function.

An enjoyable and delicious afternoon tea with friends. Staff are friendly, the service was excellent and the surroundings are very comfortable. We had the afternoon tea with Prosecco. I mentioned on booking that one of the party was a vegetarian, this wasn’t an issue. The selection of sandwiches provided was excellent as were the cakes and scones. We hope to return soon.
