I wouldn’t go back to this gym at all, so if you’re thinking of signing up don’t waste your money or your time, staff are rude and obnoxious! Worst gym I have ever been too. They need friendlier management and staff.

The dirtiest most untidy and poorly managed gym I’ve ever seen. You see the same litter left in the exact same place for days. No gym floor management with more equipment on the floor than in its proper place. Terrible music with non stop adverts. Look at how thick the dust is!

I joined this gym when it first opened. A month ago, I get an email saying my membership price was a promotional offer so they are now increasing it. No it wasn't, I have no emails saying it was promotional. Anyway it pushed me to cancel my membership. The gym, being huge, was just too busy for my liking. Good equipment though, but seemingly not enough of the main things leg press etc. I'd rather go to a smaller, quieter gym

Lovely, spacious gym with plenty of varied equipment and classes. Love the female only room. I've been every day since it opened - and I couldn't manage more than 20mins in a gym previously due to anxiety!

Had a great experience at this gym! There are great facilities and gym equipment. It’s a great gym for women, there is a private space just for females if they want to use it. The main area has a good range of machines. They even have a sauna. I will be back!

Overall the gyms ok the variety of equipment is pretty good, I wouldn’t come in the evening to busy in the weights area. However the gym fails massively in their ability to get things fixed, I’ve been a member for 6 months and one water tap is still broke. Not enough handles for the cable machines and lack of Caribbean clips , entrance pod keeps braking.

This is a good gym and great value for money. I prefer doing classes and have attended the same classes each week however they are not persistent with the classes and do no reply to emails. Classes get cancelled without knowledge and you turn up to no class (this is not due to the trainer of the class this is due to fault of the gym) the gym changes the timetable on the app and doesn't even let the instructors of the class know of the change! Please can someone respond to my email as even the class instructor has been trying to contact the manager of the gym and has been unable too. Much appreciated.

For being a commercial gym, the layout and look was pretty average. The kit was actually quite decent however. But unfortunately it was all let down by the feel of the place. Unwelcoming and unnecessarily rude was basically the way it went. No staff said hi or even smiled at the least, had more than 2 encounters with members that has left a very bad taste in my mouth. If you don’t mind that sort of thing, crack on. But if you do care about being in a friendly and welcoming environment, stay well away.

Absolutely amazing gym, never seen anything like it. So much kit and all quality, loads of classes, really open and airy. Love working out there. 👍

Great gym, really accessible and great equipment. Would be great if NRG have a more intuitive app that shows you a live count of how many members are in the gym, so you can plan your visit accordingly, as when it's busy it's really busy and therefore difficult to get access to equipment. Also would be good to have an increased number of dumbbells at the lower range (more multiples of weights between the 2 to 20kg range) as they're more popular and again hard to find as they're constantly in use as from what I can see, currently it's just 2 sets of these. Please feel free to get in touch with me regarding the app functionality, as I work in this space for a living and happy to help and give more detail.

Opened in January with positive reviews however after 6 months returned to Pure Gym. It's a great gym if you are into weights and resistance equipment but I love doing classes and found that the schedule slowly declined with the variety and frequency since opening. At the time of leaving this month, the only classes were spin, if wanting to go before 9am. ☹️

Great gym. Great equipment. People tend to focus on their workouts not each other so if your anxious don't be. Staff members STEPHEN and CRAIG are good lads. Polite and helpful. You get back what you put in with people so keep that in mind.

My rating is only related to customer service. I bought a Day Pass to try out the gym a few days ago. There was NO expiration date and been busy this week. I received an email from the management that my membership is cancelled. Is there a No. to call Stretford NRG? I finally received an email from one of the staff offering me the opportunity to attend for a day pass. The NRG gym is clean,(1st week of August), review amended; lots of equipment and spacious. I note that the lift is out of use since I joined in August. No further action appears to be taken and this excludes those with mobility problems. It would be helpful if Management can look into having the lift repaired to improve accessibility. To conclude on another positive note, I was offered a voluntary 30 minute demonstration and if I wanted, the opportunity to have PT sessions, but rather eat a balanced diet, reduce portion intake and do Cardio and Weight bearing exercise to lose weight and maintain and increase muscle mass. Might consider having limited PT sessions in future if I see no change in physique and weight.

You cannot go wrong with this gym 10/10 only downside to it that is it fully packed during afternoon time and evening if you want a quiet workout less people I suggest you either go early morning or late night this place is open 24hrs and has free secured parking.

Frozen my membership due to health problems. When I came back to the gym, someone had cancelled my membership without any knowledge and wrote 'moved house'. I'm sorry, what? Disgusting gym, they can't reinstate my membership for some unknown reason and I'm playing tennis with Harlands and NRG members at the gym. I have children and have no time for this. I'm done. Do not go here if you have health problems that will effect you going to the gym. Like I'm done. Thanks for reading.

It's a big gym and quite spacious. Personally I don't like it as it's quite busy, even if you go off peak hours. It has a lot of equipment and a boxing room as well as a female only room. It's quite popular but for me, I prefer quieter gyms where you can go do what you want and don't have to wait around for equipment / machines

Good gym with good equipment but seems to be really poorly managed. The gym and all of the machines (cardio and weight machines) are always very dirty, there is litter all over the gym, the changing rooms are unclean and the toilet in ladies has been broken for over a year. There are never any staff or cleaners walking the gym either, just usually one member sat in the reception desk. Dumbbells, plates, straps etc etc are never put back (members fault!) or tidied up so you have to hunt around the gym for what you need. Shame as this could be a really great gym.

I have been at NRG for the past 3 months, but have no decided to leave due to the poor facilities. The equipment is top tier, however since joining in August, the water tap and cubic toilet has been broken. The sauna is normally always turned off or full. The changing room facilities are very very poor, with food, junk, razors, dirty boxes and clothes left all over the floor. The lift had been broken for a number of days so if not the best for anyone who can’t take the stairs. If your looking for a gym to just work out it’s good, but if your looking to go somewhere after work to relax and destress then I’d suggest somewhere else

Probably the only reason why I come here is because of how good some of their equipment is, you’ll find hammer strength machines here which you probably won’t find elsewhere. However, the overall cleanliness of the gym, especially the changing rooms is a massive issue. Some of the dirtiest toilets I’ve ever seen with dirt and all kinds of stuff all over the floor.

The gym is big which is nice but a lot of the equipment/attachments are broken or really dirty. Another problem in the free weights area, there are only a few 5kg plates and I don't think there are any 25kg plates at all!

I recently visited the gym for the second time and had an unbelievable encounter – not with weights or cardio machines, but with a hair dryer that gave me an unexpected electric shock! 😳 I promptly reported the incident to a staff member, and I want to caution others to be careful when using the hair dryers at this gym. Safety first!

Really well equipped gym, super clean changing areas/toilets and never have to wait for anything really. Staff are also extremely helpful and I am especially appreciative of Dusty who helped me today with diffusing a situation with another gym member. The situation in which a gym member was angry at me for choosing not to let him jump in (my decision was based on the fact I’m apprehensive from a hygiene point of view and I had only 3 short sets left) was handled really well with Dusty who calmly explained how it was not in the rules but etiquette thereby not taking any sides but listening and reasoning with said gym member. Will be sad to be leaving this gym in a month when I move back to London wish they had gyms like this for this price!

I’m a firefighter and for the price of this gym you can’t go wrong. People are really fussy these days and all the equipment is amazing. Some of the weights are not available in lower sizes and that can be frustrating but overall amazing. I grew up in the time of sweaty boxing gyms so I will never complain. The shower areas do need a bit more regular cleaning. The size and space always makes me feel calm at this gym

It’s a alright gym. For machines. However it’s not a very nice gym when it comes to feeling welcomed. I feel like everyone hates me in there. It quite worrying actually. An I can see a lot of ego an jealousy? I mean it would be nice if there was some equality, an human rights here. I think NRG should open a set of rules to keep the respect here. Personally I really don’t feel welcomed every time I come it’s sad:(. But yes overall nice gym tbh some staff are nice some a just again ego an not very positive

Really good gym. Spacious with lots of equipment. Staff are friendly and management seems to be on the ball with fixing equipment/facilities quickly, and to improving the gym on a on going basis. There's also 3 hours free parking (Tesco) with 90 minutes on match days. Genuinely enjoy training here (lots of racks, weights and cardio machines). There's also a female only section. They're pretty active on their insta page which helps keep up to date with any updates with the gym. Definitely recommend training here

Gym is brilliant, staff and manager are very helpful and friendly, I do not feel uncomfortable here at all! The classes are great and no one gets called out or is made to feel silly!! Recommended to all my friends & family! X x

Great gym, very inclusive and the staff are extremely friendly!! Work with coach Aqeel as my trainer and so far so good😊. Members are also very friendly and welcoming and you do not feel out of place at all. Lovely place to workout. I also work out in the woman section quite often, and although it’s not as spacious as the main gym, it has everything you need.

This gym has truly exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff that is always eager to help. The atmosphere is energetic and motivating, making it the perfect place to work on your fitness goals. The equipment at NRG Gym is top-notch. They have a wide variety of machines and free weights to cater to all fitness levels and preferences. Whether you're a cardio enthusiast, a weight lifter, or into functional training, this gym has you covered. Everything is well-maintained and clean, which is crucial for a comfortable workout experience. However, what truly sets NRG Gym apart is its sense of community.

So far so good was given a tour by Michael who has been so welcoming and great can't wait to come back and use all the facilities. 😊 Also may I say how clean the facilities are as I saw a member of staff wiping down all the treadmills after use. By far the best gym I have been too. Has a segregated section for women only sauna and gym.

I love NRG Stretford, the two main reasons are the staff and the hammer strength equipment. The staff have such a heart warming aura and are always happy to help. There has been a few managers at this gym since it has been opened. I have also been at this gym since it first opened, the current management team are 10/10. The equipments are one of the best in any gym to date and I have been training for 9 years straight. The gym has a beautiful atmosphere, the members are so friendly. Feels like one big happy family!

  • 5/5 Irfan R. 2 years ago on Google
Very spacious, and no shortage of machines and weights. Even during peak times you can can use everything you need without waiting. All of the equipment is bran new, and the staff stay on top of keeping all clean The sauna are right next to the toilets which is a little strange. It would have been perfect if they had a sauna/ steam room/ etc in a separate area

Excellent facilities with convenient 24/7 access. This is a major draw given my work schedule. Staff, especially Herty, are excellent. Cheerful and helpful. Happy to recommend this gym to anyone.

Honestly one of the best gyms I have been to in Manchester. Great quality equipment, amazing music choices as well as volume levels, gorgeous sauna facilities and lovely staff (shout out Herty). Recommend highly :)

  • 1/5 Damian H. 1 year ago on Google
I love this gym when I first joined and attended loads of their classes. Unfortunately since then the class timetable has changed considerably with fewer classes at less convenient times. I have raised this with several staff and management but not received an explanation. Also found emails not reliance’s to so been left with no potion but to end my membership and look else where. A shame as the facilities and location are great.

  • 1/5 Wyn J. 1 year ago on Google
Just joined, first day - sauna broken 🙄 basically the main reason I joined. Apparently it will reopen when they find replacement wood??? Literally one piece of wood has come off. Joke.

  • 5/5 Nicole C. 8 months ago on Google
This is a top tier gym. Changing rooms, equipments, sauna and machines were all clean and tidy! A wide variety of equipment and the equipment is in working condition! I love the fact they’ve got a women’s only section which has a variety of good equipment for both upper and lower body not just the odd pieces of equipment you get at other gyms ‘women's only sections’. The music is great too, it’s not deafeningly loud but also great selection of songs that you’d actually want to listen to rather than loud annoying noise that other gyms play. The staff are friendly and amazing (shout out to Herty and John!) and so are the other gym goers. Can’t fault this gym at all, I highly recommend it!

  • 4/5 Maiyah G. 7 months ago on Google
Brilliant gym, the staff are really helpful and there’s always a member on site if needed. The women’s only section is versatile and the air con is perfect! Showers and sauna are big and clean and the music is a vibe. No other gym in the area with a sauna that’s reasonably priced.

This GYM is absolutely the best GYM ever. I recommend those who interesting to join gym so this is the best one. It has enough equipment. The staff are really friendly and good people I really appreciate them.

  • 5/5 Duanne M. 9 months ago on Google
Great equipment, friendly staff, very clean. The vending machines don’t rip your eyes out. If you’re looking for a gym within the £20-£25 range, it doesn’t get much better than this.

  • 5/5 Luca W. 9 months ago on Google
This gym is great. Coach Herty is very friendly and helpful. Everyone very welcoming and lots of machines to use. Would recommend. Lots of classes to go to, I'm going to try put the boxing class soon! Everything I need to reach my gym goals.

Been a member since it opened. Amazing gym with 24/7 access. I love the open space, there are so many weights and pieces of equipment that I don’t remember coming to this gym and waiting. The studio is Also massive and great for cool down workouts. Zero complaints ☺️

  • 3/5 Zachary W. 1 year ago on Google
Good gym with good equipment. Annoying cancellation policy. They have an app so why can’t you cancel on there rather than emailing your gym? Lots of influencers which is pretty funny and the showers are pretty rancid. Slides are a must

  • 5/5 Jodie S. 1 year ago on Google
NRG is definitely the best gym in Manchester. Very wide range of good quality equipment and machines. Big and spacious so even at peak times it never feels cramped. Staff are also really friendly and knowledgeable. 100% worth the cheap price you pay.
