An absolute joy of a pub and well worth going for their Sunday Roast. The pub isn't far from the Lymm exit of the M6 and has an outdoor eating area, parking and all the trimmings of a gastropub inside (though I find the decor a little dated). The value of the roast is outstanding and it's rare that you get beef that is this tender. Food wise, it's homely and hearty. The soup was nice and creamy. Roast wise, I've mentioned the meat and feel the broccoli also needs praise. My only marks against were a Yorkshire pudding that I wish were bigger (as always) and a gravy that's a little watery for me. Desserts were fantastic with a perfect custard. There's also a lovely Bears Paw pale ale beer that I wish I could buy a few bottles of but sadly is made specially for the pub. Definitely would come again.

Me and my family stopped here on the way home down the M6 looking for some nice lunch. I knew we'd found a good place the minute I walked in and was warmly greeted by two members of staff. We sat outside in the courtyard and it was perfect with the sun out! We all loved the food we had. The warm duck salad was superb! Very reasonable prices too. All the staff are friendly and attentive. I even got to chat to the chef who was glad to hear the good feedback. I'll be making sure I pop in again the next time I'm travelling up north!

Please like if helpful👍 first visit here and very impressed. Lovely little country pub/eatery with great service and deliciously tasty food. There is an a la carte menu and a choice of a fixed menu of two or three courses. We chose the fixed menu which still offered plenty of choices at a reasonable cost. The service was friendly and fast too. We will definitely return to try out some of the other goodies on offer. We went on speck and although we got a table, this is a small place, quite busy on a weekday afternoon, so it might be best to reserve a table first.

We had a great meal here! Probably the best roast beef dinner I've had in years - my wife thought the same. Looked too good to waste time taking photos, so got stuck right in, but managed a snap of the desserts, which were also good. Kids meals high quality as well - clearly cooked from scratch, no microwave fish fingers here! Friendly staff, nice wee outside area with covered and open sections. What's not to love!

Fabulous food. Not our first visit. This was last minute on a sunday. The team accommodated us although full. We waited a few minutes with drinks. There was a large menu on offer not just sunday roasts. Food delicious and plentiful. Service great. Atmosphere energetic. We will see you again soon. Thank you.

Impromptu lunch date which was wonderful. Pork and black pudding with mustard sauce and lamb shank were delicious. Rhubarb crumble and custard for dessert was fantastic for a cold winter day

Brilliant! Very warm and welcoming pub however not always easy to get a last minute reservation even during the week but that shows how good it is here. The staff couldn’t have done enough and everything is homemade. I had the pie and I was expecting the usual heavy pub pie but what I had was a flavourful and light pastry with amazing chips. My son loved his food and said it’s one of the best kids menus he seen. Great beer too so what more can you ask for? We will definitely be back soon…

Exceptionally good place to eat. It is consistently nice with a large selection of specials and an extensive main menu. Staff are great and prices are very reasonable Can get busy so always better to book in advance. A hidden gem!

Loved this country pub. We passed it by chance, and so glad we stopped and had lunch. We sat outside in a lovely canopied area. Lovely atmosphere and the food was great. Staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Ended up here as the place we planned to eat in was fully booked. We had phoned ahead and to our relief, they squeezed us in at Bears. The place is a little quaint, not very big and had a pleasant, cosy feel. The food was nicely cooked and presented with veg cooked to perfection. We ordered a main and as we were still hungry, also a dessert. Mains selected off the Sunday lunch menu was a bit of a stingy portion so unsatisfying for healthy appetites. Also the desserts were both too sugary and my coffee weak but maybe because I asked for a large coffee which appeared to be just a small coffee in a larger cup and extra water added! The service was fine. However, I still recommend it as was a good experience overall and when we exited the pub, took photos of the lovely outdoor areas where lots of thought had been put in to make it attractive and comfy. Recommended for smaller appetites!

Visit the bears paw regularly. Always welcomed in a warm and friendly manner. Food consistently outstanding, well presented, excellent ingredients, served hot and tasting delicious. Excellent value for money. Had the Sunday lunch today with a great varied choice. A la carte and specials menus also offer good variations. Jay, Mel and all the staff work hard to offer the wow factor and an amazing service to all customers. Keep up the great work and thank you.

Living in the USA I miss a good Sunday lunch/dinner in a pub. After visiting the Bears Paw I think I’ve found where to get my fix whenever I’m back in the UK. Service was very good, there when you needed without being overly attentive. Three of us had lamb, one had turkey. We all thought the quality and portion size was perfect. Vegetables were served family style, perfectly cooked. Two of us had dessert, and everyone commented how good they were. We also noticed other desserts on other tables which looked very nice. The non-traditional Sunday lunch menu also had some interesting dishes which I’d like to try next time. There are limited tables which seemed to turn every two hours, so I’d advise you book ahead.

Amazing food and great service. We visited for Sunday dinner with our three small children. The staff were so friendly and attentive. We were never left waiting for anything and felt very cared for. I have never eaten somewhere with all the children where I have felt so relaxed. Thank you for such a lovely dinner!

The Hidden Gem The staff are very friendly, this has become our local place for business meetings, and the meeting point for rewarding our staff. The place has been refurbished to a high standard, and now offers over 30 seats in the orangery and snug outside. The food is always excellent, and we are always pleasantly surprised with the results. We have been made to feel welcome as if we are locals, to the extent we all feel like part of the family. The management of the entire business is exceptional, the establishment is always exceptionally clean. You can tell all staff put their hearts and souls into making every attendance special, well worth a trip, the steak especially it melts in your mouth. Thank you guys we will be seeing you again soon The datateams boys

Fab pub, the food is amazing (way better than your average pub food and everything tastes so fresh), they also do great cocktails! The outside area is great as they allow dogs and it’s heated.

Lunch with friends, always great food, well served, pleasant staff. One of my local favourites, l had chicken curry, served with rice, two friends sea bass, one other, the duck. We ate everything and thoroughly enjoyed.

The Bears Paw, originally a 17th century farmhouse with a not so common name and who’s origin comes in many forms, a type of Snow-Shoe, the shell of an East Indian Clam, a soup (which is outlawed in many countries) or a type of popular pastry, with the latter being more apt for this lovely British Inn pub cum restaurant. Though this is my first visit my foodie partner for the evening is well acquainted with both Knutsford and The Bear Paw, which is surprising to some as she lives on the south coast. We could have opted for the lovely setting of the courtyard, but as evening approached the cooler breeze was building a tad too much. So inside and the lovely ambiance awaited us as did the staff. I have to say we were greeted with lovely warm smiles and assistance, now whether this was due to the recognition of my partner I wasn’t too sure, until a another customer came in shortly after and was given the same treatment. That’s nice and what a lovely way to start the evening. Drinks: Zinfandel Rose (bottle) Starter: Rosemary breaded Camembert* Duck Spring roll Main: Whole Tail Scampi* Gammon Steak Dessert: Belgian Waffle* Bread and Butter Pudding After dinner drinks: Gin and Orange, Water (I was driving) * Dining partner We both agreed that both the service and the food could be not faulted, and I would certainly enjoy giving this place another visit.

Lovely country pub. We were looking for something in the area and suddenly came across it on the way as the postcode took the satnav about 200m up. We were sat in the snug which is a cosy little room with a few tables. Food was very good, we both had a cheese starter, a burger and a pie of the day. Couldn’t fault either meals, delicious and piping hot, just what was needed on a cold winters night.

Had a wonderful experience here. This pub has a great atmosphere. The staff are really lovely and polite. There is a great outdoor (covered) area to sit which is lit and filled with heaters. Really recommend dropping in here if passing. I didn’t eat here but I’ve also been told the food is top notch.
