This hotel has got extremely bad reviews on trip advisor. I stayed in this hotel for a night due to early flight. The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The bar staff especially Diane, we’re so good . Great help, rooms could do with a little bit more attention when cleaning, but beds were clean and toilet was clean. Would definitely book to stay here again

Stayed one night for an early flight, booked package through Holiday Extras to include parking for 14 days and three course lunch. I also upgraded room to an executive one for an extra fee. Still less than the on-site hotels. The hotel is easy to access there was plenty of long term parking to the rear and no problems finding a space. Staff were friendly and we booked the return shuttle service when we checked in. The room was clean, adequately well equipped, bed was comfortable and room well situated on the ground floor near reception. The included meal was from an inclusive menu which offered a limited range of dishes, but all were well prepared, tasty and service was good. We were concerned that we might be disturbed with noisy guests being close to the reception area, but we slept well and heard no noise. The early shuttle to the airport was bang on time and on our return we were picked up on time at the designated stop. Drivers were friendly and helpful. After reading the many negative reviews about this hotel, we were not expecting much, however we were pleasantly surprised and wouldn't hesitate stay again.

Worst way to end a holiday. Stay literally ANYWHERE else. I stayed here since I had an early flight the next day. The front desk staff told us to wait in the wrong place for the morning shuttle to the airport, we just barely made, only after another guest showed us the correct place to wait. The bar/restaurant staff were deeply unprofessional, took an hour for a pizza, and then forgot about it and served us cold food. When we sent it back they they forgot our food again until we got a manager involved who finally got us food almost 2 hours after ordering. Wifi costs extra, the gym costs extra, the shuttle costs extra... Very poor value for money and generally horrible experience all around. The lift does not work properly, the rooms are dated, the whole place has a bad smell. When trying to communicate with management about the poor service at front desk and bar/restaurant we were ignored and misinformed once again on how to submit a formal complaint. This is not a good place to start/end a trip.

Hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! The whole place is dirty, smells of cigarettes throughout the hotel, clearly the room had no been cleaned in a while. We reserved a double room, we got a family room with two single beds pushed together to make the double bed and a bunk bed In the corner. Absolutely disgusting room with dirt and mould all over the bathroom and stained/marked sheets. The whole night there were people smoking in the rooms next door and as our room was an attached room with middle door we had to put a towel down to try and limit the smoke! We both got bitten all night by what I can only imagine are bed bugs! We stayed there 5 hours and they were the worst 5 hours of my life. Didn’t get any sleep because of the stale smoke smell and the bed bugs mainly. Stayed there for a quick over night stop before catching a train! Worst decision ever, would have been better sleeping on the floor at train station. This place needs to be shut down.

Hotel was acceptable, the cleanliness in the room was a little below expectations and there were at least two light fittings which were not working in my room. The pricing for the accommodation was decent considering its proximity to the airport but the prices for other services such as vending machines or the bar were very expensive. The décor is dated and the building is in need of some attention but overall it’s perfectly passable for an overnight before an early flight. Be aware, it’s not on the airport land so be prepared to pay £10-25 each way to reach the airport/station.

This hotel is in need of refurbishment or room had dirty carpet sockets not working if you want to charge your phone Black marks on shower ceiling mould round the bath no Shower gel no toilet roll broken curtain rail. Bar staff keeping empty bottles of wine in the fridge the coke was flat they hadn’t changed the gaz bottles the staff were constant on their mobile phones Then they opened a bottle of champagne and the cork popped out hit the ceiling and landed on the palm of my hand which I have bruise The Bar lounge area is need of a total refurbishment it like you have gone back in time to the 1960s When the hotel says 3 star I’d give it a 1 star it an absolute disgrace and dirty inside and outside.

10 minute drive to the airport is not close. You'd be better off staying at the ibis Budget on the airport grounds for the same price. My girlfriend had an awful experience at the front desk when she checked in, the day before I landed. It took about 1.5 hours for her to finally get checked in. The hotel was awful. It's run down, shabby, and stinks. The lift didn't go to the top floor, so had to haul my luggage up the stairs and then all the way down the hallway to the room. 2 of the lights worked, the shower wouldn't give us any hot water at all, and the toilet didn't flush properly. When we went down to the restaurant for the food, it was forgettable at best. We didn't take any leftovers with us, as it just wasn't worth it.

I saw some negative reviews but I thought I’m going to stay for one night so I can manage it but as soon as I opened my room’s door my expectations level went high to low. I don’t know if i ever want to stay in this hotel again. The staffs were amazing and great customer service. Plenty of car parks and it’s really close to airport. the room wasn’t clean, it was smell of smoke, dirty carpet, toilet wasn’t clean and we couldn’t sleep peacefully because of loud noises. We even found some old socks.

Was adequate at best. Broken blinds in room bed very hard. Plenty of water tea and coffee provided. Easy to find car parking spaces but quite narrow. I used the hotel bus to get to the airport at 3.30am which was good however I had almost an hour wait for the bus back to my car on my return I had just missed one and they are only every hour in the afternoon.

The room smells were really intoxicating with some products (glue or paint) that were being used. Front desk said sorry can’t do anything about it. We are fixing some bathrooms. The room shouldn’t being booked. The carped in the rooms were old and making my nose to block. At least made me not sense the horrible smell anymore. The lounge looks ok for a beer. But avoid eating there if you can. Definitely look for a different place. Do not recommend this one.

My stay was bleeding awful I was frozen so had to lay in bed in my jumper and joggers and had to tuck them in my slippers to keep warm but when go out side for cigarette I'm warmer what is it charge guest for your staff to be warm when working. I think this is god dam rude since when do u have to use the towels pervided as a draft excluder to stop the draft coming threw and no heating at all. Since when do you think this is up to standards cause I am not happy with this sort of service. In all the hotels I have stayed at this is a 0 star rating from me. I have stayed in some shanty place but this is below the belt. Many thanks tear marshall room 11 and 111. And my partner hurt herself self but trying to unlock the room as card reader is faulty. I think use need to do abit of maintenance and get the hotle to the standards you described before false advertisement. I will be contacting the high service to get some advice with where I go here as think its rong paying this amount to be frozen towels didnt even stop the draft so no sleep as frozen and all got told to is review it and not got offered no alternative heating for our from very abrupt and this is supposed to support a disabled person. Effected her disability where struggled walk or even get out of bed with out crying and hurting i this is apolling and unacceptable to treat customers this way

When you arrive at the hotel it looks very nice, the reception area and bars etc are good but the rooms are terrible. Mine didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a long time there were stains all over the carpets and walls. No soap etc in the bathroom and the bed was so hard I had hardly any sleep

Having read earlier reviews about this hotel, I wasn't sure about booking, but made a last minute decision to go ahead and book a one night stay with transfer to and from airport and also 15 nights parking. We experienced an efficient check in, a lovely 3 course dinner which we had booked also, the transfers to and from the airport were prompt. The only negatives were that the transfers were only hourly which meant a bit of a wait on return and that the rooms were dated, but satisfactory. Overall, a positive experience and one that I would book again for future holidays.

Great location for the airport. However, we had to wait around 1.5 hours after check-in time for our room them during the night they decided to redecorate the function room directly through the wall from us with scraping and banging all night and no sleep for us. They were apologetic about this and provided free return transfer to and from the airport, but still no compensation for the lack of sleep and a long journey ahead.

The pros: Great location - near the airport and Wilmslow, pretty walks around the back Staff are friendly Didn't dare try the food so the restaurant could be nice. The cons: We had to ask for a new room because our first one smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, but the new room had a broken window (wouldn't close properly) and a broken TV remote. Both rooms had floors that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly since there was actual litter left on them, and stained walls. The towels were stained. The bathroom had damp, and the sinks hadn't been cleaned properly. There was hair in the shower drain. The fan in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned out in at least several months, meaning it had a faint smell and did almost nothing to circulate air except to add more dust. The corridor floors also had not been cleaned in a very long time - there was litter on the floor only a few minutes after the cleaners had left. The walls were very thin. Staff spoke loudly about their personal lives and work drama in customer spaces which was entertaining, but not particularly professional.

1 star Hotel at best. We were checked in at 4pm and NOT advised that the boiler was broken, still checking people in 10pm and not advising people. We had no heating and hot water throughout our 1 night stay. Rooms very dated, mould in bathroom, bed very uncomfortable and feel sure had bed mites. Walls very thin, you can here everything.

Worst way to start a holiday, booked 2 rooms in July night before holiday , Rooms were small, fusty smell, stains all over carpets, our bathroom had cracked bath cracks on floor tiling, no air conditioning ,was under repair ! Hot night, beds dipped in the middle, asked reception if they had other rooms as we could not sleep in them, told they did not have anything else. Reception not very helpful , we checked back out and booked another hotel ! No refund have sent e-mail of complaint No reply Avoid if possible ☹️

Room was small but clean. Staff were helpful but very busy as hotel had wedding. On web site there is a shuttle bus from airport but your not told you need to call and book it. Getting a taxi a few miles is a rip off and not all taxi drivers will take the fare. Comfortable and clean.

Stayed in the hotel for one night, just before my trip to Mexico. Staff seemed fairly friendly, especially the bar staff. Free parking too. Food seemed to be ok. However this is where the good parts end. Prices are a bit on the high side for drinks. Most of hotel looks very dated and the rooms don't look like there cleaned properly, mine was full of dust and my shower curtain had mold on it. My bed mattress was rock hard, I might as well been sleeping on a rock and all I heard all night was noises of machines outside.... If your sleeping for just one night you will be able to cope, but I would not suggest staying for more than one night, as you will be very disappointed.

Would only stay here if flying out the next day. The rooms are incredibly small, the carpet in our room was not very clean at all. On the plus side, staff very helpful and polite. We had a bar meal, fish and chips, and pizza. Not too bad.

I only stayed here because I had a 6 am. flight the next day. The room was okay. It was small, but it was reasonably clean. Could have done with a plug socket on both sides of the bed though to charge my phone.

Good location not too far from airport. Rooms are a bit dated to say the least but bed was clean and comfortable .the receptionist tried to get an extra tenner out of us ..then backtracked. The breakfast was cold when informed the girl on duty she went off to have a look and never came back no apology or anything 😒

Excellent customer service from reception staff called "Harpreet", hotel location is excellent, nice hotel overall, for the price was very good value. Rooms did look a little outdated, but they were clean and the beds were comfortable and firm. The hotel had all the extra amenities required. The breakfast was very good, and to a high standard. Highly recommended. Thanks.

Close to Airport, room outdated holes in the bathroom door, to remote didn’t work. Receptionist was rude wished everyone but me a good stay. Didn’t give me the WiFi code. Bed was comfy though no soap or shower gels provided

Shabby rooms holes in scurtain boards, curtains are stained, curtains not put on proper curtain rails, cups been left in hall way for 2 days on the landing floors house keeping leave bags on the landings builders banging at 8 in the morning rooms are not fit for purpose and really needs closing for refurb to think this is in connection to the airport I really think the standards would higher Leisure/spa no complaints at all couldn’t ask for better people very friendly service and staff are very polite very cheerful and go above and beyond to help in your situation, this is satisfying and very clean pool is clean. only problem I found in the pool is a screw.

Like a previous review,  this place is pretty dingy and yes the rooms are a bit smelly/poorly ventilated,  the only saving graces are that it has a swimming pool and gym, which are OK, and that you'd probably not be spending too long here as you'll be getting an early flight to the airport, which is a short taxi ride away. The staff were friendly and helpful, honestly they were the best thing about the place, and although it is close to the airport, a taxi costs about £25, and there are a couple of other hotels much closer by. There is a big car park at the hotel, where you can safely leave your vehicle. Altrincham is a short car trip away if you don't fancy eating at the hotel.

We knew it was a brittania hotel so didn't have high hopes, the main areas were all clean and been recently decorated so looked quite fresh. The food looked quite good too. The room itself had enough space for the 3 of us, wall paper missing in a few places and rusty taps but a lot nicer than our previous experience of brittania so all good. Very close taxi ride to the airport.

The room was very old, full of humidity, even the pain on the walls was sticky as a consequence. The service was super good, they pay a lot of attention to the costumer, however the rooms are far from decent

This hotel is excellent for location! Situated at the end of Manchester Airport runway, it has double glazing which keeps noise levels to a minimum. The rooms are pretty basic but just for a night, they are ok. The free WiFi was very fast. There is tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are very friendly which is nice. We had a meal in the restaurant with drinks came to around £20 per person. We would definitely stay here again.

Me and my family recently stayed here from 18/07/23 until 02/08/23. We was due to go on holiday on the 19/07/23 at 6am so needed to be at the airport at 3am. It made sense to stop over on the night of the 18/07/23. We left our car here for the duration of our holiday which was 2 weeks. To cut a long story short, upon our return from holiday i noticed my car had been damaged while left at the hotel (Photo attached). I approached the hotel reception to understand what had exactly happened. Had someone drove into my car or had someone attempted theft? Security came to look at my car and advised me they are not obligated to protect clients cars. His attitude was appalling and non sympathetic to my situation despite me having two very young children who just wanted to be home after a long day of travel. I demanded further answers from management. After 10 minutes or so, management finally arrived to see the damage on my car. The management advised me they would review the CCTV footage and come back to me within 48 hours. 48 hours passed and i still didnt have any communications back from the hotel. I then called them and was advised management would call me back. A further 48 hours passed and i still had not phone call. I then called them back and was advised i would receive a call within the day. Ive still had nothing back 5 days after arriving home. Which now means i have to leave a review to ensure other hard working families etc do not go on holiday, leave their cars at this hotel to then come home, find damage to their cars and find that the hotel really dont care. I guess the money has already been paid which stops the hotel caring? To further elaborate of my suspicions regarding the damage, as per the pictures you can see that the damage isnt that of another customer. Someone has gained access to the car park, liked the look of my car, took some sort of grinder and proceeded to cut holes out of my rear bumper where the censors were. They then proceeded to cut the wires in the hope this would bypass my cars security allowing access. My car and the hotel has clearly been targeted, a family goes on holiday for 14 days, this happens on day 1 or 2, i come back off holiday and report the car stolen. By which time the thief's have had almost 2 weeks to strip or change the car which unfortunately would never be seen again. The hotel do not try to avoid these thefts. As you can clearly see as per another photo attached the hotel always leave the barriers up. This means that anyone can gain access to the car parks. The hotel operates a 15 mins in and out policy. If a car does not exit the car park within 15 minutes they then get a parking ticket via AMPR. Unfortunately this allows thieves a 15 minute window to take our cars. A couple of questions i have need answering by the hotel which relate to the incompetence of the hotel. 1) Why don't the hotel leave their barriers down? 2) What is the point of the hotel security? 3) How has someone taken out a mechanical tool and and damaged my car without anyone hearing? 4) Why haven't the hotel got back to me? All of this should leave potential customers in the future concerned. My advice is stay away from this hotel. The hotel do nothing to prevent this, your car will be targeted and the hotel will do nothing to assist you there after. One final question is ask before i leave this review....was this an inside job? You have to leave the duration of your stay when arriving, whos to say someone at the hotel hasn't advised these thieves when a desirable car comes into the car park. They then know how long they have to steal the car based on how long the client is away for. My judgement may be clouded by anger, however i leave nothing off the table with this hotel! I will be taking this hotel to a small claims court to recoup the £650 excess fee paid to insurance, i will also try to recover my £200 paid for the stay, in addition i will look to recover money for insurance premium going up, loss of NCD and then some for inconvenience.

It was fine. The hotel smelt funny, including the rooms, but once you got used to it, it was okay. The room was fine. It was showing some old age. We had called a few days prior to ensure a cot had been provided for our baby, it was not provided after being assured it would however we still got the cot, it was just disappointing due to the fact that we were assured we would have it in our room already. The shower was extremely hot but other than the smell, cot & noise it was okay. There were very noisy people there at night, but this wasn't the hotels fault. Overall it was okay, not the best but definitely not the worst.

Not to bad for a stop over, but very shabby ! Shower was very very hot and couldn't turn down. Very worn down and stayed in better accommodation in Iraq. Staff were really helpful and polite. One to avoid

Second time I have stayed here for business. The room was £55. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Yes, it's dated but if you are only spending an overnight it is more than fine. There was some swearing in the bar but, when asked, it stopped. Having a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, cardio-gym and resistance gym on site is a massive bonus, though at £5 each session. Rob in the bar was terrific: polite, helpful and professional with all clients. Some say you get what you pay for. I think you get more for your money here. That said, I wouldn't bring the wife!

The hotel is adequate for an overnight stay for the airport. Unfortunately we had to carry out cases down on the morning we left as some one was stuck in the lift. Romour as it, it happens regularly. It wouldn't put me off using it again in future the person didn't have to wait long to be rescued.

Wow. Seriously the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. I went to greet my boyfriend who was coming over from Canada the next day. When I got to the reception, I was “greeted” by a darked haired girl on reception that asked for my booking, which I provided. She then said I needed ID (as I was meeting my boyfriend from another country I had no ID on me) she said I’m at an airport hotel, how can I not have my passport!!! so I had sit and find a photo on my phone of my ID. The other girl was really lovely towards me, but overheard the dark hair one shouting at her for been nice to me!!!!!! When I asked the girl if I could please take her name, she replied with “No, I do not want to give you that” So 20 mins later I found a picture of my ID on my phone which I showed them. By this point I was upset as was in a city I did not know and was worrying I would have nowhere to sleep for the night. Eventually got allocated a room (with with the dark haired one chatting to colleagues and laughed about putting me on the top floor). So I struggled to the top floor (the lift service only goes to floor 3) then the farthest room away possible. Maybe it was in my mind but I felt she did this on purpose. When I got into the room it was like it had not had attention for quite some time. There were 2 out of the 6 spotlights working and the toilet had “poop” marks down it and the flush did not work. Worse still, the shower did not work at all. It states it’s an airport hotel but it’s a £12 taxi ride to the airport. It is far away, definitely not an airport hotel. I spoke to the management the next day who agreed the particular receptionist gets a lot of complaints and is a little harsh! Even they seemed scared to confront her! On the way back to say farewell to my boyfriend we stayed in the ibis hotel, which is a 5 minute walk from the airport and so much more friendly and cleaner, not to mention free coffee/ ice cold water and fruit drinks anytime of the night. plus it’s the same cost. I will never stay at any of this chains hotels, which is Britannia, again and I strongly feel you need to supervise your staff more, as there seems to be a LOT of complains about this particular girl. I work in customer service myself and would never treat anyone the way that your staff member treat me that night. I presume there is CCTV? As I am speaking to a solicitor to take this further

If you suffer from dust mite allergy, stay away. I had the worst ever hotel experience in my life and at a price of £77 per night. The room carpet and all over filthy. The bed sheet was not clear but probably freshly changed. The rest was a mess. No water in the shower no towels. Carpet of the stairs rather smelly. On the ground floor I sat down on one of the red armchair in the dining/sitting area of the main hall and I got immediately sick (sneezing, watery eyes and all that comes when one suffer from a huge allergic attack). Really, this hotel needs refurbishment as it is not safe. It is unfair to have to experience something like that. I ordered some food abd paid for the full variety of ingredients in the Mediterranean salad, but I was served only rocket and lettuce (tomatoes, cucumber and feta cheese) were missing. They did not bother to tell me that they could not serve the rest. I was exhausted of the experience and just waiting to leave and never go back.

front of house staff member was very warm and friendly and helped us book our airport shuttle. Corridors smelt like sewage. Mould in the bathroom and damage to bathroom door. Bed was extremely narrow. Food was poor (burger) just bland and lacking flavour. The gent on the bar was fairly rude and unfriendly. It was ok to stay over before a flight but it was an unpleasant experience overall.

Had 2 nights here, thought it was lovely! On first floor our beds had crisp sheets room nice and clean, good size, staff friendly and helpful, swimming pool great, table tennis, car parking. Breakfast looked yummy and gym seemed busy. 15 mins walk to see planes take off - don't go up steep bank as bit further a proper gate! Can walk along the river in the woods that was great!

Ideally located for pre holiday flight stay. Reception, bar and restaurant areas all clean and tidy with lots of tables and chairs. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food ok at night , breakfast was great. Spotless tidy room , heater, fan, iron and ironing board provided. Good night's sleep. So glad I ignored the bad reviews as the hotel was nothing like some people have said.

Wasn't looking forward to a night before airport due to reviews, but lovely welcome from staff on reception room ok clean bathroom not the best bed but did the job. Booked a 3course meal £15 each through holiday extras nice food fish n chips main meal ,👍,only complaint in restaurant waited a long time as only one waiting on staff a very nice man doing an amazing job with a smile on his face rushing everywhere, but Management should be ashamed and deserve a large turnover of staff 👎Close to airport good shuttle bus.

When we had keys we went to to lift , no one on reception told us it wasn't working so had to carry heavy luggage . Toilet wouldn't flush properly , the shower in my daughters room didn't work . To be honest I probably would stop again for one night no more . They should fix things . At dinner they were OK we had the main which was nice then they asked if we wanted the bill , We said a dessert menu would be nice . Other than that it wasn't too bad

After reading comments on this hotel, it was a little off putting, but I must say the staff were efficient and helpful. The hotel itself is a little tired but was worth the money. The bar food wasnt too bad drinks were a little steep.. I'd stay here again, very handy for the airport...

I stayed overnight due to a late business meeting. £105 for a single room and breakfast. The hotel is not much to look at on the outside. I would say the look is "long past its prime". The room was tiny, the bed was far from comfy and the room and ensuite looked in need of a good bleaching! Breakfast was ok but I've had better at a roadside cafe. I would just like to add that most of the staff were quite lovely, just a shame the hotel wasn't. Would not not recommend.
