Fuming.

The worst place I’ve ever eaten. Staff disinterested. Very slow service and they won’t bring food to your table. The food was insulting for the money. Cheap tasting, nasty, disgusting.

I had lunch there this week while the fish I had was very nice, it was very expensive I paid £14.05p for fish, small chips, peas and a can of pop. It was not table service and I overheard a lady asking for a glass of tap water. The staff on the counter said very sharply that the tap water was not drinking water so she had to buy bottled water. I find it very hard to believe that you can't drink the tap water they just wanted her to have to buy a bottle. I will not be going again

Expensive sub par and tasteless. Sam's plaice is awful decor looks nice but once sat down your food is just slung over the counter to you and you have to find your own cutlery. I'd honestly advise people to walk straight past the place and save yourself the misery

To be fair the food was nice tasting, but the price of the cod was a rip off. It was more like a jumbo fish finger and for £5.10 not good value. There were plenty of chips and the curry sauce was what you would expect from most English chips shops.

If I could give this place ( Sam's plaice) a 0 star I would! £12.40 for fish and chips and the fish was small, and burnt to a crisp. The chips weren't much better. The staff were as miserable as sin.no smiles, no manners. The only nice bit about it is the decor. Shocking! Avoid.

Food was ok but service was chaotic. Visible menu prices are for takeaway, they slap quite a bit on to eat at a dirty greasy table outside. Had to go back for tea as they had forgotten it Not impressed at all.

Terrible attitude from the staff. Rude to my kids. Forgot the breadcake for a chip butty then said they couldn't be bothered to unwrap everything so just threw the bread cake in the bag. And to top it off the chips were terrible. Avoid this chippy at all costs.

Would give 0 stars if possible. The place was busy during the post-lunch rush on a weekend granted, but the staff were all-but rude and despite clear pricing on menus the staff all had different ideas of what each thing cost. For a simple order of 2 large and one small chips and a small bottle of coke we were charged almost £10 and made to feel like a massive inconvenience for ordering anything. Didn't make a fuss as they were busy but we were surrounded by other customers having an equally dreadful time. We then made the terrible mistake of politely asking if we could buy some ketchup for our little one's chips. Of the 3 staff, 1 told me ketchup was free in sachets and pointed to an empty pot, 1 told me it cost extra for a sachet and the 3rd shrugged and said they had no more of any sauce in the shop. A few minutes later we saw several customers leave with the exact packets of ketchup we had been told they ran out of...for free. And then: 3 orders of small chips were delivered to us at the counter with more angst than a teenage sparkly-vampire movie. Tldr; •Staff that made you feel like existing was an imposition to them, •Overpriced food that was very poorly cooked and greasy, Final Grade: Ungradable.

Great food but the place is very small especially if eating in as people have to brush past you to get to the counter

Absolutely shocking service and attitude from staff, stopped to have full English breakfast with 2 lattes, breakfast came which was fine but my god did we have to wait ages for the coffee, asked twice 1st time told they would bring it out, 2nd time by which we had finished our breakfast was told we have yo do it in order!!!!! Which order cause when we sat down outside we were the only customers surely the drink should come with the food? Pointed out we ordered ages and have now finished our breakfast, they eventually brought them out with such attitude no apologies for waiting and then to add to insult one was stone cold, so we just ended up leaving, this is one place I definitely would not recommend. The owners and staff need some courses on customer service and how to run a business
