The Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram is one of the renowned ashrams in the region of Kalady. This ashram was built in 1936 to commemorate the great visionary Shri Ramakrishna. It is located in the vicinity of other tourist attractions like the Sringeri Mutt Complex and the Keerthisthambam. This ancient ashram has a prayer hall with many beautiful images and pictures of gods and renowned visionaries. It organises various preaching classes of Sri Ramakrishna and Adi Sankara.

It is affiliated to The Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal. Swami Agamananda, disciple of Swami Brahmananda, the first President of the Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission, founded the ashrama in 1936. Being a disciple of Swami Brahmananda who was the “spiritual son” of Sri Ramakrishna, and being a highly educated Kerala Brahmin, he possessed the authority to declare that the then existing caste system was not a part of true Hinduism, nor the creation of Sri Sankara. Sri Sankara always strived for the emancipation of people of all classes. The ashrama runs schools from Nursery to Higher Secondary levels. About 1500 students attend these schools.

Sree Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram is commonly known as Advaita Ashram which is run by Sree Ramakrishna Mutt. The Ashram garden is mind pleasing. Ashram situated near to Sree Krishna temple and Sringeri mutt Kalady.

The place is calm and peaceful. Being there itself can sooth your mind. Everyone is welcome here. There are pictures of gods of different religions inside. It was a memorable experience. I loved the quotes of Sree Rama Krishna.

Location-Very good, just near bank of river. Structure -Just like all other RKM Ashrams, this is also concrete jungle I'm between green jungle, with paver block all around, huge structures, less of greenery. Ans I heard there were many plants here, naturally grown and some planted by founder as well but next generation people cut it to pave way for concrete buildings and paved pathways! By cutting yourawlf with can you grow spiritually? No. Vibes - Other than river banks and Shiva temple, no other place has good vibes, mostly this place has negative vibes including main temple. Puja & rituals - quite boring may be because people doing it has no interest but doing it as duty. Management - Weird, biased, prejudiced, descriminative, highly conditioned and insecure. Believes in castism, religionism, regionism. Majority people are from WB!

Most Ashrams are not transparent free rooms etc available only for the networked people, admission are not transparent and open to public.. a modern form of casteism is being practised by these people where only a privileged few with connections to sr swamis enjoy all the privileges while if a common man approach is shown the door. even told lies . Yesterday I went there with a Dr from Ranchi, on enquiring I was told one has to apply through email before getting rooms, when I asked for email id they won't give but asked me to approach one officer in saffron. He ignored me for some time later saying its not available. The doctor who is a habitual visitor of ashram approached the same saffron clad person bend touched his feet sought his blessings asked for telephone number of the main head, called up his contact in another ramkrishna math, who called up and arranged for his stay free boarding and food., doctor even told me he will arrange for me I said no and returned to Kochi.

Situated very close to the birth place of Adi shankaracharya. A serene and divine place on the banks of Poorna river. The historical river bank where a crocodile attacked the young Shankara is situated nearby. The famous Shankara sthoopa of Kaladi as well as the Sri Sankara Sanskrit University are also close by.
