Stayed with friends and was NOT happy with Nambiar's. First, it's misleading to call it a "3-Star" Hotel, rather than a glorified B&B. Basic services and amenities expected from a hotel are NOT available here (no toilet kits or toilet paper, room service is barely functional, food is not delivered to the room and is available only between 9AM and 10PM). Your stay experience will be determined by the mood of the management, so heaven help you if the Manager is cranky when you need something. They conveniently take full payment upfront, so even if you want to leave midway, you're stuck (Warning: If any hotel asks for full payment upfront, it's because they know their services are deficient and want to make it as difficult as possible for customers to hold them accountable). Read an earlier review where Nambiar's not only failed to reserve a room despite being paid upfront, but then also resisted refunding the amount. Shocking and completely unacceptable, if true. Staff was courteous but even basic services were slow. The Manager(s) really need to work on their attitude: Snarky and unhelpful throughout the stay, as if we were staying there for free and they were doing us a favour. Requests were ignored, room service calls were unanswered. The rooms are small and poorly ventilated. Constant smells from the bathroom and outside sources. Half the time, our room was closed to keep out the smell, and the other half it was kept open to drive out the smell!Management refused to change rooms citing 'full occupancy' despite the "hotel" being empty throughout our stay. Only reason it even gets two stars is for the food/restaurant. Incredible coastal cuisine. Fresh catch, well-made food and generous portions, at very reasonable prices considering their quality and portion. Even then, their 'complimentary' breakfast was shoddy: Wide spread on one day, and just one dish on another. Half their menu items would be over when you ordered them. Nambiar's is essentially a good restaurant, with the 'hotel' added as an afterthought. My suggestion? Visit only for a meal, and nothing else. If you have to stay over, don't do so for more than a day at best. Do NOT come with a large group, they will not be able to handle your requirements.

Rooms are clean. But they don’t allow food from outside. We can’t order anything as they want us to have food from their restaurant which is very costly. I think this is not the right way as they should respect the choice of people who stay there .

Rude staffs, wifi connection was not working. Food is not allowed from outside and very coastly in their own restaurant. Taste is also not good. Totally feels like a hostel/ hospital.

Being a regular customer and recommending to my friends to never going to visit again. This one star is given for the attitude and service of Hari or whoever was the receptionist. From his attitude on checking in to the way he talked to customers after coming and knocking on their doors. Is this how he has learnt to treat people in the service industry. The management and owners should be ashamed in employing such low class people into an establishment in the heart of town. This is what happens when people with no sense of respect or basic education goes to work in the service industry. I advise the management to make him write and understand the meaning of the word service.

I stayed at this hotel alone for 8 nights. Because I was traveling internationally alone I was a bit apprehensive at the beginning about this stay, but as mentioned in the other reviews, it turned out to be a safe place. The location of this stay is amazing since it’s near to almost all the amenities such as supermarkets, medical labs, photo studio, etc. Also the owner and the caretaker were very helpful and arranged for everything that was asked for. Their Wi-Fi is also amazing as I worked from this hotel for a week.

Influenced by reviews on net, happened to visit its restaurant for lunch with my family and a family friend. Asked for meals: No meals. Asked for Biriyani: No biriyani. Opted fried rice and curries from available ones. Very high price compared to its class. Very bad food. Too much of chilly to hide other factors. Atlast, asked for ice cream - No ice cream.

Heritage is merely a diversion,as there’s nothing heritage about this place. Breakfast served was greasy, unpalatable and definitely unhygienic. The rooms were unkept with stained bedspreads. Certainly do not recommend this place with a rude front office staff. I don’t want to give even a single star for this lousy unkept place.

Very nice homestay. Convenient rooms. Mainly team is excellent. Right from the GM Mr. Nambiar every body is so warm n helpful. Thanks to Ramsheed who was helping me right from the day of my reservation. Felt very much at home. Definitely would recommend this place. Internet connectivity is a big challenge inside the room but good when we sit outside the room.

The room was disappointingly small given the price of 2000rs. Considering the alternatives available at the same cost, this fell short. To make matters worse, the lack of toiletries was an inconvenience, and despite raising the concern, no action was taken. I had no choice but to go out and procure them myself.

It's a boutique place. Nice budget rooms in the middle of the city, but the service is scanty. Breakfast is very basic.

Excellent stay at a very reasonable price. It's in a convenient location. Ernakulam Junction, MG Road, Marine Drive are all at a walkable distance. The rooms and toilet were clean. The Staff were friendly. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel.

We had booked our stay from Agoda for one day, but, when we reached the hotel manager said that they don’t know anything about it and there is no such booking on your name even though we showed them the mail and receipt ID, booking ID etc. we had to take a new room at a much higher price. Beware of these tactics and always call the hotel once you pay via any app. Otherwise they take you for a ride. The service was also poor and I don’t recommend people to stay here.

I had a recent stay at nambiars and am extremely satisfied with their facilities. It promises you a homely stay and even their food too is good. However I had to order food some time earlier as they take time to serve the same.Since the food was delicious I don't care much about it.Nambiars GM Pradeepkumar and Front Office Manager mr Gishnu deserves special mention for their service. Will definetely recommend this property..

Absolute value for money. Great pricing, ambience, neat rooms, excellent breakfast, courteous staff, located center of the city, good parking space (provided the rooms are not full). If the team can run the business like Day1, am sure their business will be ahead of competition. During our 3 day stay, couple of issues like hot water not working, fixing the visibility of bathroom through the exhaust fan hole are something to be fixed.

Rooms were neat and clean.. service to be improved.. one day we had to wait for 2 hours to get water in the washroom.. instead of giving the facts the manager was trying to tell us stories that it is a 7k litres tank so takes a long time to fill when actually the pumping motor was under repair.. also the manager is so harsh that he did not allow even a minute after the check out time nor a minute before the check in time.. though some of our rooms were checked in much after the check in time.. guests will not be encouraged to revisit such properties.. food was good but portions were small..

budget friendly AC rooms Nambiars is a descent quality hotel located near to South railway station kochi, its actually an old ancestral house of the owner renovated to hotel standards rooms give your that "tharavadu" room vibe. Room me and my friend stayed was not that big, it had a small little LED television with which we can only access the free channels available in the STB it has a ceiling fan and an AC. Bed that could accomodate two, beds were comfortable and not hard. room has 1 cupboard with a drawer that could be locked, another table and 1 or 2 chair maybe πŸ€” Bathroom was spacious with 24*7 hot water, and a descent shower. Restaurant Nambiars have their own restaurant , located in the GF. We got complimentary breakfast for the two days we had stayed there - first day the the spread included things like Dosa, sambar, poori, potato curry, boiled eggs, breakfast cereal, milk, option for a toast with jam and butter, coffee, tea and πŸ‰ juice. tasted good that's it won't tell that its the best, there is room for improvement. For dinner also we choose their restaurant but sadly can't recommend their food, its not like its unpalatable or anything as such its just not great for the money we are paying its better to opt other places. But the restaurant was very clean and very well mannered staffs they even recommended specials and engaged in small talk with us which was very welcoming as we are outsiders in their city ( don't remeber their names, two servers one girl and a boy). Room service Room service is not provided unless requested, we went outside passing the key to front desk but even when we returned room service not provided we had to wait 1 hour more to get that done( some sort of mis communication between the staffs) We checked in at probably 2:45am, the staff was very friendly and we had made our reservations in advance so they waited and enquired 1 or 2 times is our train on time when will we reach like that sort of a things. we got the room for 1600/day for the two of us which included the complimentary breakfast. So overall a win-win deal neither too cheap nor too expensive.
