Stayed
with
friends
and
was
NOT
happy
with
Nambiar's.
First,
it's
misleading
to
call
it
a
"3-Star"
Hotel,
rather
than
a
glorified
B&B.
Basic
services
and
amenities
expected
from
a
hotel
are
NOT
available
here
(no
toilet
kits
or
toilet
paper,
room
service
is
barely
functional,
food
is
not
delivered
to
the
room
and
is
available
only
between
9AM
and
10PM).
Your
stay
experience
will
be
determined
by
the
mood
of
the
management,
so
heaven
help
you
if
the
Manager
is
cranky
when
you
need
something.
They
conveniently
take
full
payment
upfront,
so
even
if
you
want
to
leave
midway,
you're
stuck
(Warning:
If
any
hotel
asks
for
full
payment
upfront,
it's
because
they
know
their
services
are
deficient
and
want
to
make
it
as
difficult
as
possible
for
customers
to
hold
them
accountable).
Read
an
earlier
review
where
Nambiar's
not
only
failed
to
reserve
a
room
despite
being
paid
upfront,
but
then
also
resisted
refunding
the
amount.
Shocking
and
completely
unacceptable,
if
true.
Staff
was
courteous
but
even
basic
services
were
slow.
The
Manager(s)
really
need
to
work
on
their
attitude:
Snarky
and
unhelpful
throughout
the
stay,
as
if
we
were
staying
there
for
free
and
they
were
doing
us
a
favour.
Requests
were
ignored,
room
service
calls
were
unanswered.
The
rooms
are
small
and
poorly
ventilated.
Constant
smells
from
the
bathroom
and
outside
sources.
Half
the
time,
our
room
was
closed
to
keep
out
the
smell,
and
the
other
half
it
was
kept
open
to
drive
out
the
smell!Management
refused
to
change
rooms
citing
'full
occupancy'
despite
the
"hotel"
being
empty
throughout
our
stay.
Only
reason
it
even
gets
two
stars
is
for
the
food/restaurant.
Incredible
coastal
cuisine.
Fresh
catch,
well-made
food
and
generous
portions,
at
very
reasonable
prices
considering
their
quality
and
portion.
Even
then,
their
'complimentary'
breakfast
was
shoddy:
Wide
spread
on
one
day,
and
just
one
dish
on
another.
Half
their
menu
items
would
be
over
when
you
ordered
them.
Nambiar's
is
essentially
a
good
restaurant,
with
the
'hotel'
added
as
an
afterthought.
My
suggestion?
Visit
only
for
a
meal,
and
nothing
else.
If
you
have
to
stay
over,
don't
do
so
for
more
than
a
day
at
best.
Do
NOT
come
with
a
large
group,
they
will
not
be
able
to
handle
your
requirements.
