The Hill Palace Museum offers a captivating glimpse into Kerala's rich cultural heritage. Its vast collection of artifacts, including royal belongings, artwork, and archaeological finds, provides visitors with an immersive experience. The well-maintained exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering insights into the region's history, art, and lifestyle. The sprawling palace grounds add to the charm, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace. However, some visitors may find the museum lacking in interactive features or guided tours, which could enhance the overall experience. Nonetheless, the Hill Palace Museum remains a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.

Weekends are generally crowded, Monday they are closed. At the entrance you have to collect the tickets for entry, photo camera/mobile and parking. The building is on a hilltop, you can drive all the way up. Else if you park near the entrance, it's a decent climb. Plenty of parking space. They don't allow footwear inside the property, but you can wear socks. This is done in order to protect the tiles and the delicate flooring which is from the British era. The property was used by the rulers of Cochin province pre and post Independence. Its history and artifacts are very well documented and arranged. To properly explore, you may want to spend 2-3 hours. One of the popular Malayalam flicks from the 90s 'Manichitrathazhu'(National award winning) was shot on this property and fans can rejoice and recollect memories from the movie. They close it during their lunch hours(1-2pm). There is a small canteen for tea, snacks and juice, but for proper lunch it's advisable to venture out.

Once a royal palace, now a museum, this place has a big garden and one would have to climb some steps to reach the main entrance. There are some historical collections. Maintained well. A nice place to spend an hour or so.

Entry fee is a bit more .. Adults 35 then mobile camera 20 so the charge for everything is a bit more ... from there we get a good knowledge about the palace .. The children's park is cool .. Come here with your family and enjoy a day here. This place is also a good place for lovers. Then there is a small deer park .. There are a lot of deer and moose ..

It was a really good experience visiting hill palace museum.A combination of kerala and dutch architecture is mainly seen in the construction of the palace. In addition lot of constructional styles taken from all around the world is seen throughout the palace compounds even in the garden constructions ,fountains ,bathing areas etc.The palace is kind of well maintained even today with lot of employees for cleaning and other works. The museum is a very large plot with a huge palace building with additional small buildings, long walkways, deer conservatory and so on. A really good space to spend some time learning a lot of history and just relax.

Well worth the visit. The ticket counter is near the entrance. You can either choose to walk all the way up there or you can also drive up there too. They let us drive up there since we had our grandparents who could not walk up the hill. The palace itself is very well maintained. The interior and the tiles on the floor are fantastic. The gardens are good too. You can easily spend an hour there for sure. I would highly recommend it.

A vast forest in the middle of the city would be apt description of the place, while a small percentage has been maintained for the public view the majority of the place is off limits or in dire need of upkeep. The children's park immediately at the entrance is good for the little ones. You will need to walk a lot to cover the area open to public so take a pair of comfortable shoes and a bottle of water. The entrance fees is very negligible compared to other such monuments and most staff friendly.

Tips: * Do not wear shoes and come since you would have to take them off. * Mobile Phones and camera not allowed inside. Hence there isn't much to photograph so R50 ticket for camera would not be much useful. About the Place: This place has a lot of history within it so a great outing for history buffs. A canteen is present in the premise in case you feel hungry after the trip. Also has a nice Deer Park where you can site a huge number of deers and hence great for kids. Also has a swing on a tree for kids to play.

Great place to see a lot of old woodwork. Camera fees (Rs 3000/- for video) was ridiculous! Avoid going on weekends and holidays if possible. Poor parking arrangements as several cars were parked haphazardly greatly reducing available parking space. Food is about twice as expensive inside gate, try walking out of gate to buy food where the alternatives are great. They have deer zoo/park which was really good! Place is kept neat and you will need to remove your shoes before entering palace.

Hill Palace is an archaeological museum and palace located in the Tripunithura neighbourhood of Kochi city in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the largest archeological museum in the state and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. Built in 1865, the palace complex consists of 49 buildings in the traditional architectural style, spreading across 54 acres (220,000 m2). The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park, a pre-historic park and a children’s park. The campus of the museum is home to several rare species of medicinal plants. Presently the palace has been converted into a museum by The Kerala State Archaeology Department and is open to public. The palace is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the city centre and is approachable by road and rail.

The place can be maintained a little bit better. Grounds are unkept at some parts. No dustbins for waste disposal. The place closes at 1 p.m. for lunch and reopens at 2.p.m. This is a major set back as visitors just wander around having nothing to do for 1 hr, staff should take turns to have lunch instead of closing the whole place. There aren't much artifacts on display only a few jewels and other things. It's mostly just pictures and writing (quite informative).

Vast area of greenery with swings here and there and the remnants of the palace can be seen outside. A great place to go with kids although we can see some couples in love among the trees and corners of the plot which may not be seen as good by the people of Kerala. The inside opens at 9 and closes at 1 for break then reopens at 2,so make sure you adjust your timings. You can walk through the history and enjoy the area.

One of the must visited historical place in Kerala. This place is famous after Malayalam movie manichithrathazhu, so you can experience the shooting site and locations there. You can take ticket from the counter and the price is very less compared to the experience what you will get from here. There is some limitation to use camera and phone for take photos inside the palace, the videography is not allowed inside. There is a wide space available for park your vehicles. The palace is very well maintained and some of the areas are not allowed for public. One final thing, Try to reach as early as possible on morning or after noon, since the entrance time is 9AM to 12PM and 2PM to 5PM.

Hill palace museum is located in Thripunithara municipality in Cochin. It is an old palace which was under kochin king rule converted into a museum and managed under the Kerala governments archeology department. There is a lot of history about the kingdom and it's rulers and their customs explained in the museum. The place is also famous for being the shooting location of popular films like manichithrathazhu. It's not too big when compared to mysore palace. There is deer park and children's park in the vicinity. Parking space is available. There is an nominal entry charge. Mobile , bags and footwear are not allowed inside the museum and has to be kept in a locker room facility provided by the museum. It is a good place to spend 2 - 3 with friends and family.

I travelled to the palace based on the information given in this site, regarding the working hours, to find the museum temporarily closed due to Covid 19 regulations. It is understood that unless state government issues fresh order allowing entry of visitors to museums, it will remain closed. The site needs to update such informations otherwise tourists from distant places can get fooled.

One of the most beautiful place in Kochi. The palace consisting of many amenities which include a deer park, a cultural museum and a well-maintained park, this spot attracts a lot of locals and tourists who visit the area. The garden on the grounds is also the home to a large number of plants which include rare plants with medicinal properties. In total, this location reflects the aura of the alluring region by providing a very clear insight into its cultural and historical background. Exhibiting a plethora of artifacts like paintings, weapons, jewelry, sculptures, coins and furniture, the museum reflects the exuberance of the royalty which resided in the Palace and ruled over the region.

Maintenance is good. A worthwhile visit for history lovers. It's breathtaking to look at the wood work, tiles and the palace structure... Some of the artefacts have minute craftsmanship that seems surreal. They also have separate room for jewellery used by the royal family along with the late king's crown. There's a life like elephant statue carved in wood which is majestic in itself. One crucial thing they have not mentioned on the website is the lunch hours. The museum actually closes from 1 to 2 pm for lunch. So either you have to go in early or visit after lunch to be able to cover the entire museum. We went in by 11 and it was not possible to view all the relics and read the inscriptions due to time constraints... But a must visit for history lovers...

For those who enjoys antique collections and scenic beauty of buildings, its a better option to do visit there. Early mornings are less crowded and you can spend your valuable time enjoying its beauty. A nominal fee is there for entering into the palace and also for using phone or camera to click photos and capture videos. Footwears are not allowed inside the palace, we have to keep in the clock room provided there. There is some more restrictions regarding the photography at certain places inside the main palace like the gold exhibits etc... In each and every rooms you will see authorities, who can help you clear your doubts regarding the palace or the exhibits.

Largest archaeological museum in Kerala spread over 54 acres. Really well planned and maintained. It's a paradise for both history and natural lovers. You can see and experience the history of Kochi rajyam. Walking through the garden and the biological park is very peaceful and refreshing thing. Best time to visit is after 3 pm. You can see the sunset in the background of Kochi city. The landscaping and the buildings are a mixture of traditional and western style. Exhibition of historical photos and events are very interesting. You can understand the life style of old royal family.

Best place to visit in ernakulam. This is one of the oldest palaces in Kerala. This has become shooting locations for many Malayalam movies. One of the best archaeological space in kochi. With a great and vibrant ambience gives amazing experience. I would definitely say to walk around inside Hill Palace. Equipped with a good furnished library. Well maintained. Staffs are also very friendly and explains about the history well. Really appreciated by the efforts from State Government and Kerala Tourism council. Enough parking space for tourist bus, cars and bikes. There is a small park also at the entrance where kids can enjoy and play around. Monday is not a working day. cross check with office department for the working hours. The views from hill palace to the city limits and towards the Arabian Sea is stunning. Dont miss deer park backside of the palace inside the same compound very adjacent to ice cream parlour.

It an archaeological museum cum palace located at Cochin. It was the residence of Cochin Maharaja. It was built in 1865. And thus it looks classic in its architecture. From the palace gate, we have to climb a number of steps to reach the palace building. The old palace is surrounded by thousands of trees (looks like a mini forest). And there is a huge wall at the border of the palace compound. Altogether it's a great place to visit.

A calm and quiet place where you can spend 2- 3 hours on a weekend in the stunning background of heritage palace and garden. Additionally to amuse the kids along with you, a beautiful and large Deer Park situated in the same compound is adequate. Although photography is not allowed inside the palace, the same is allowed outside with a nominal fee of ₹ 50. It worth taking photographs with palace and garden as background. Footwear is not permitted inside main building so that same needs to be deposited at the clock room at the entrance. They charge ₹ 10 per each pair of footwear even if you are in a group. Also you have to deposit your camera, mobile and hand bags etc in another clock room as those are not permitted inside. Here again they charge you ₹10 per each locker. Natural "Oonjal"or swing provided in the compound at various places are good to energize the kids along with you. Also it gives wide opportunity for good photographers. Overall a good experience

There is an entry fee, parking fee and you have to pay extra if you want to take a camera with you. It is an archeological museum in which the history of an era is well preserved. You can see the chariots, swords, coins and other weapons and things used by royal family which is showcased here. Everything in here is well maintained as it is. They way things are preserved is very remakable. We all have seen this palace atleast once as it is used in manichithrathazhu movie. You have keep your bags, chappals and mobile in cloak room near the entrance to get into the palace. Camera is not allowed inside the palace and photography is strictly prohibited inisde the palace. But there are gardens around the museum, where u can get some good shots. There are a lots good locations at which u can take a lot of beautiful snaps around the museum. Im addition to this there is a childrens park near to the entrance which is a small facility but still maintained very well. In addition to all these there is a deer park in the vicinity in which lots of deers are there. There are lots of toilets facilities in different places in thr premises. Also some cool bars are there near deer park where u can get fresh juices refreshments and snacks. All together it is worth to visit with friends and family. The major share of attractions in the museum were contributed by the Cochin royal family, with some exhibits from the Paliam Devaswom and the Department of Archaeology. The museum collection includes a gold crown embedded with precious stones and many valuable coins, ornaments, majestic beds and samples of epigraphy. The Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu was shot here.

This is a beautiful historical museum where the Malayalam movie Manichirthrathazh has shot. It has a wonderful architecture and theme. Whoever plans to visit should definitely walk into the pond near the park( Entry is restricted but you can see while walking by). For entry, parking and photography you have to pay around 100pp(guess so). After walking around the palace you can see a mini zoo with some cute deer and birds. And you can find a few swings over tall trees as well. It's well maintained and kept hygienic.

Hill Palace is one of the largest archaeological museum  in kerala. It was the official residence of cochin maharaja . It was Built in 1865 . The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer  park, a pre-historic park and a children’s park. It's a beautiful place but needs to be better maintained as it can attract many people. It has a lot of greenery. The deer Park is a main attraction. The visit to it's archaeological museum will be an informative one. You get to see the rich heritage of our land. There are a no. Of swings in the compound. The children's park was really good earlier .Also you need to pay to enter the premises. Plus you are not allowed to carry phone bag etc. They will charge extra amount to carry Camera.

This is a must visit if you are in Kochi. However, its heartbreaking to see how poorly the palace, premises and exhibits are maintained.Paintings that are hundred of years old are left exposed to the high temp and humidity of the tropics. The deer population has exploded in the park, and they are starving.

As name says the palace was built in 1865 on hill top with many walking steps includes landing space in between to reach the hill top of the palace. Similarly many internal zig zag roads to reach the top. Nice view and well maintained real palace turned into Museum for public. There are basically two palaces one in Kochi, Cochin and other in Thiruvithancore, Trivandrum "Manichitrathazhu" the Malayalam movie's main scenes with beautiful songs were pictured here in 1993. It is the largest archeological museum in the Kerala sate and was the imperial administrative office and official residence of the Cochin Maharaja. The palace complex consists of 49 buildings in the traditional architectural style, spreading across 54 acres.

The museum is a shadow of its former self with all the actual artefacts replaced with large printed boards. If you plan to visit this place to see the actual elements used by the Kochi dynasty, the elements presented is very very limited with a few chairs, a limited display of jewellery and a few horse carriages. The weapon store was off limit due to COVID. The place require a major uplift including the surroundings to take it back to its former glory. This is a major historical place in the modern history of Kochi and more efforts are to be taken to project and showcase these to the visiting people. Efforts should also be made to educate and organise a tour for the visitors to experience the flora and fauna which forms part of this enormous estate. We were fortunate to see the 'Cannon ball' tree or the Nagalingam tree (photos below) which was at the entrance itself however there were no specific placards which assist you in identifying and experience this magnificent tree.

I'd call this a must-visit for everyone living in, and around Kochi city, because this palace museum best depicts the history, and legacy of the royal family, which ruled the erstwhile kingdom of Cochin. This palace museum, and its premises would fascinate students, history enthusiasts, and also people, who seek some recreation amidst the bustling city. Apart from the history, there's a lot more to admire in the palace's architectural beauty, and its vivid surroundings.

Myself with family visited on a Saturday. We've reached there at 10 am itself the museum well open at 9 am. There was not much rush. Better to be there at opening time itself, it is about 2-3hrs for seeing the museum. Museum is well maintained and descriptive with modern techniques. A must visit place for students to know the history of India and Kerala. The old pictures, architecture of palace, furnitures, ornaments, jewellery, tools and utensils of that era. The golden crown with diamonds fixed on it as a wonderful experience. The palace is situated in the heart of the city surrounded by lush green forest, which gives our mind and body a relief. A wonderful experience !!

Hill Palace Museum - a place for history lovers and Manichitrathazu/Maadambi/Thekkeni/Nagavalli fans😜 This palace is one of the locations where The superhit malayalam movie Manichitrathazu was shot. Right from the main entrance/door, the wooden staircases, the extra large rooms and corridors all reminds you of the movie. Also the path to kulam(pond), where the lead actors in the movie are seen running around. This place closes at 4:30 p.m. probably to avoid running into Nagavalli at night 😜 Now coming to history, this was the official residence and administrative office of the Cochin Maharaja. The palace is spread in an area of 50 plus acres. By the size of the palace you can imagine what a royal and luxurious lifestyle the Royal family people who lived in the palace would have had. The palace has been converted into a museum by the archaeology department. The museum is filled with lot of pictures and details about history of Kochi, its rulers, invaders, its people, its trade and culture. If you are a history lover, you can definitely spend a whole day here. The artifacts include the crown and various jewelry of the Royal Family. These are preserved in a separate room with security and no filming is allowed here. Other than these you can find ivory idols, sceptres, photographs, huge chariots, palanquin, and Kerala State's first elevator among many others. There are adequate staff at every nook and corner to guide you and give you details of what you are seeing. There is a small deer park behind the palace. The palace/museum is well maintained. There are some staircases and rooms which are locked and entry restricted. The palace is huge that you would get tired walking through and there is no place to rest or even chairs provided to sit during your tour of the place (a drawback for the elderly). Another MAJOR issue is that you have to leave your footwear in a cloak room beside the palace and the walk back barefoot; on hot days, you'll definitely to get blisters on the sole of your feet (you're getting punished 🥵) The entry fee is meager including parking and for mobile photography. There is plenty of parking available. There is a small canteen near the deer park, which is very unhygenic (especially the juice counter). I liked the experience except the punishment of walking barefoot.

A beautiful 19th century style palace situated in the outskirts of the busy city. The museum holds a lot of paintings, artefacts, ancient ornaments and display boards which shows history of the rulers, place. Outside the museum is lush green space, deers are present. - How i reached here? Took a metro from city and got down at SN junction metro station. Then took an auto for a short drive to the palace. - Best time to visit? Morning soon after having the breakfast. Else like how i did, have lunch then reach the palace at around 2pm. 2hrs is sufficient to walk in and around hill palace. Important points? - Monday is a holiday. - They don’t allow video recording inside the museum. Pics are allowed except in place where ornaments are showcased. - You have to remove and keep footwear outside before entering museum, it’s not allowed. They have provided a place to keep footwear. - Vehicle parking space and canteens for short refreshments are available.

Although the place has a good collection on display that I honestly enjoyed browsing through, they have failed in making it really accessible for research. First of all, photography is prohibited inside (which is okay) but then there should be an alternative that should be provided, either in the form of a catalogue or even select photographs that can be purchased, that one can use for reference purposes. Since there wasn't anything available, I decided to take notes that I could use for my own research. This was met with extremely impolite and outright rude behavior by the staff employed inside to provide explanations. Kerala's history is one of incredible tolerance to outsiders, it would be nice to experience this is reality when visitors/researchers actually pay a visit.

Hill Palace Museum was the official residence of the Kochi rulers in 17th century. Today it is famous as a full-fledged ethno-archaeological museum and as Kerala's first ever heritage museum. The palace complex comprises 49 buildings built in the traditional Kerala style of architecture and is surrounded by 52 acres of terraced land. The Hill Palace Museum also has a gallery housing contemporary art. The Hill Palace is a huge treasure house of antiquity which is present at Tripunithura in the state of Kerala. An erstwhile residence of the Maharaja of Kochi, this palace was constructed in 1865 and later renovated into a museum by the Archaeology Department of the state. Consisting of many amenities which include a deer park, a cultural museum and a well-maintained park, this spot attracts a lot of locals and tourists who visit the area. The garden on the grounds is also the home to a large number of plants which include rare plants with medicinal properties. The terraced lawn, ponds and fountain are perfect for outdoor photography. The palace is also famous for being the backdrop of various movies. The most popular amongst them is the Malayalam movie Manichitrathazhu.very nice and calm place to visit.

IN the museum we can see lots of weapons jewelry and previous stones used at that time .. We can also see the cars used during olden days .. A part from that there is a Deer park close to the museum at the back side of the palace .... Recently they have made a Children's park which is really enjoyable for the kids .. We can see the statues of dinosaurs in the road surrounding the museum .... It is so green and refreshing ...

A good place for those who are interested in History. Much information is provided about the royal family in the museum. Some ornaments, weapons, outfits etc.. are put on display. One cannot carry mobile phones or cameras to the palace; it can be kept in safe vault provided outisde the palace. But you can definitly click snaps outside the palace. There's a deer park inside the palace compound. A snacks bar which serves fresh juice, icecream, snacks, coffee, tea etc.. is nearby the deer park. There is a small park for children within the compound. We saw people having lunch in the park. Entry ticket for Adult is Rs. 35, for car is Rs. 30 and for camera is Rs. 60.

The palace is a good place but the problem is that eventhough we pay for the phone/ dslr cameras we cannot take it inside the palace.Only the outskirts of the palace could be photographed. Also we have to pay extra for the locker facilities. Apart from the architecture and some information about the Ekm and cochi kings there is nothing interesting about the museum. The museum is targeted to lure the foreigners only. The palace is vast and it would take half a day to cover it all.And take bottle of water with you.

The complex has an archaeological museum, a heritage museum, a deer park, a pre-historic park and a children’s park.[1] The campus of the museum is home to several rare species of medicinal plants. Presently the palace has been converted into a museum by The Kerala State Archaeology Department and is open to public. The palace is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the city centre and is approachable by road and rail. The Centre for Heritage Studies (CHS), an autonomous research and training institute set up by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala also functions at the site. CHS is designated as the 'Manuscript Conservation Centre' (MCC) and Manuscript Resource Centre (MRC) by the National Mission for Manuscripts.[2]Hill Palace was built in 1865 by the Maharaja Of Cochin and is now the largest archaeological museum in Kerala.[3] The official capital of Kingdom of Kochi was located previously in Thrissur and the royal office of Maharaja as well as the court was all located in the city. However, as per ritualistic customs, the seat of Queen of Kochi (Penvazhithampuran) was seen as Royal capital as Kochi royal family had matrilineal traditions and the queen was regarded as sovereign of the state under whose authority the King ruled. Since 1755, the Queen and her retinue lived in Tripunithura, thereby making the city as official capital. Also the Prince Rama Varma was raised in Tripunithura, thereby preferred to live in the city even after coronation as King, rather moving to Thrissur. Thus for his benefit, a royal office was constructed in 1865. Initially it started off as royal office, court building and offices of royal secretaries and nobles of the court, soon more and more structures were added to main structure to various purposes. Soon, an imperial residence building was also constructed for the residence of the King and his immediate family though other members of Cochin Royal family had their own allocated bungalows and official residences. The palace was handed over to the Government of Kerala by the Cochin Royal Family and in 1980, the palace was taken over by the Department of Archaeology and later converted into a museum. It was opened to the public in 1986. The museum and its campus is one among the popular shooting sites for the Malayalam film industry. The Horse cart gallery and Weapons gallery houses a lot of historical artifacts.

There are many medicinal plants around the palace. The Hill Palace, now a museum, is open to the public on all days except Mondays. Hill Palace is located at a distance of 14 km from Kochi. It was built in 1865 by the Maharaja of Kochi with his own resources. In the year 1980, the royal family of Kochi handed over the palace to the Government of Kerala. The Hill Palace was later converted into a museum by the Archaeological Department in 1986 and opened to the public. Many films have been shot at this palace, including the famous Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. The museum was opened in 1991. There are currently 11 galleries here. The museum houses items used by the Maharaja of Kochi and members of the royal family, as well as ancient stone tablets, sculptures, coins and many more. The Madampalli in the movie Manichitrathazhu has no access to the then Thekkini Muri area. Well Maintained and good place for people who love history. We need to pay at entrance for parking and entry fee. Post which car can be parked near to the entrance to Palace. The slippers need toeft at cloak room before entering the Palace. Monday it is holiday instead of Sunday here. For kids there is a park as well as they can see and feed deers. They would love this.

Beautiful victorian-British era architecture. The palace has the most beautiful windows in all of Kochi. One can easily spend couple of hours in this humble palace. It is a must visit for people who love history, nature and intricate details. I visited at the beginning of monsoon and was delighted with the pleasant weather. Hospitable and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again.

Best place to visit in ernakulam. It's a peaceful place to get rid from the city. There is a museum, walkway and a deer park. It's a very old palace, the architecture is very beautiful, and you can see the original crown of kochin king. This is one of the oldest palaces in Kerala. This has become shooting locations for many Malayalam movies. The palace is well maintained and a lot of things are there to view including antique properties and the king used households. The main attraction is the king's crown and jewelleries. There is a deer park inside the premises. A lot of parking spaces are there for any kind of vehicle. Just spend some time here.. it'll be a great relief

Such an amazing well maintained museum. I really love the garden they are still maintaining and this museum is photography friendly there is an entry of 50 for camera or phone camera but for professional shoot it would cost 2000₹ and you need to fill up some forms as well.. I would recommend a visit such a worth place

I recently visited the Thripunithura Hill Palace Museum and had a fantastic experience! The museum is a captivating historical site, and I was thoroughly impressed with its organization and wealth of information. The Pros: 1. Well-organized: The museum's exhibits are thoughtfully curated, making it easy for visitors to follow the historical journey. Each section is clearly labeled and presented, allowing me to explore at my own pace. 2. Informative: The Hill Palace Museum is a treasure trove of historical knowledge. I appreciated the detailed descriptions and fascinating insights into the royal heritage of Kerala. It's a haven for history enthusiasts like me! 3. Knowledgeable and Helpful Staff: The museum staff members were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and readily available to assist with any queries. Their passion for the museum's history added to the overall experience, making my visit more enjoyable. However, I do have a couple of suggestions for improvement: 1. Restroom Maintenance: While the museum itself is well-maintained, I noticed that the toilets needed more attention in terms of cleanliness. Regular upkeep of restroom facilities would greatly enhance the visitor experience. 2. Cafeteria Options: The only drawback was the limited options available in the cafeteria. It would be wonderful to see a wider variety of snacks, tea, and juices offered to visitors. Having more choices would make it more convenient for guests to take a break and refresh during their visit. In conclusion, the Thripunithura Hill Palace Museum is an exceptional place to explore Kerala's regal history. The organization, informative exhibits, and helpful staff contribute to a delightful and educational experience. My only recommendations would be to improve the cleanliness of the toilets and expand the cafeteria's offerings. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this museum to anyone keen on discovering the cultural richness of Kerala's royal past.

Good place for a traditional lover. The palace and it's compound was so beautiful, enriched with Beauty and nature. A calm and quiet place. The lunch break is from 1-2pm I think so. Because when I reached there once it was lunch time. Must visit place in kochi for a traditional and antique lovers. And one more thing is there are lots of couples spending time here 😅 there is a park for kids also. Over all good place for a one day family trip.

It is a beautiful archaeological museum. At very low cost. This is the palace of Kochi royal family. There we will get a great deal of knowledge about them. Also there is a large park in the Hill Palace area. So everyone can spend time there. It is also a very child-friendly area. Many Malayalam popular movies including 'Manichithrathazhu" have been shot from here. We can see the location where this movie was shot. There is a huge area for raising deers. There are 2..3 type of deers there.. its a good experience for kids. Everywhere we can see guards there. Somebody was very arrogant to the visitors. Keep away from them. If you like archeological museum and like knowledge things this place is very good. Others can enjoy the park and surroundings area.

The Museum has undergone lots of progressive changes, post covid, with the help of Central Govt. The Musuem has multiple buildings, large grounds, many exhibits, and adequate write ups regarding history of Cochin State. It is sad that many of the rooms containing exhibits are locked up stating the staff are on leave. Plenty of parking, children’s play area, etc. Definitely worth a visit and young families can easily spend half a day there.
