(May 14, 2023) The Glorietta branch of the Yabu chain of Japanese restaurants. Of the variations in Japanese cuisine, their specialty is mainly in katsu. Nice clean ambience and good food. The only suggestion that I put in the feedback card that they give customers is that they should have an info card for their condiments. I'm sure that katsu aficionados know which is which, but for someone like me who's more of a ramen guy when it comes to Japanese food, I had to ask the staff about it.

People are very kind and attentive to customers. The dish is really good. We tried their curry set and it was very delicious and the serving is huge. It's worth your money. We can't even finish it.

Authentic Japanese Katsu with refillable side dishes? Sugoi. ♥️ Katsu lovers definitely know how good the Katsu dishes are in Yabu House of Katsu . Their katsudon sets are full of variety, from pork and chicken, to salmon and ebi. All come with refillable rice, miso soup, cabbage, fruit and juice. Make sure to try preparing their signature katsu sauce. ♥️

It is obviously one of the best Katsu restaurant in Manila. Good taste with high quality service.

The tonkatsu and curry katsu were yummy and the restaurant has a lot of "katsu" options to choose from, katsu lovers will like it here. The breading and meat were very light and tender, the curry sauce was tasty. The side cabbage and miso soup are nice, don't forget to add the sauce they give to the cabbage. The service was friendly, but the staff seemed a bit overwelmed, they probably need 1-2 more waiters to run it in a more relaxed matter. The place could also be a little bit quieter.

Came here for lunch, it’s better to come before 12, as it usually get crowded. I love their appetizer, “koroke tamago”, it taste nice and the portion is quite full-filling. Try it next time you visit Yabu! The curry is quite nice, however, it’s not my favorite. My husband usually order their Rosu Katsu Set. Overall, nice ambiance, reasonable price and friendly staff!

My go to place for katsu curry. I prefer their recipe over coco ichibanya for some reason. But the kazuya katsu curry is what I always aim for yet its always unavailable, so I settle for the regular rosu katsu curry. The meat is always soft, and delicious. Paired with their unlimited cabbage and kewpie dressing. I like the overall taste. Opt for the brown rice and it was surprisingly soft. Usually brown rice has a tough texture. The miso soup served was a bit salty. I think they forgot to dilute it. Watermelon wasn't sweet nor sour. It was plain bland and yellowish in hue. I think it was not ripe to consume yet. Service was preoccupied. Completely understandable since they have a number of customers lined up and waiting. Atmosphere was neither hot nor cold, temperature was just okay. We sat by the window. Overall vibe, I might have to add that the place smells like a fast food restaurant, if you know what I mean by that. It wasn't entirely pleasant. An air purifier/revitalizer would probably fix that.

I have been to other branches of Yabu but the service in their Glorietta branch is a bit slow. The waiters were not very attentive and was really rude. They served us not fresh watermelon, please see photos, it smelled really bad. I don't understand why they would serve fruits like this. The katsu was consistent with the other branches. Delicious as expected, thank goodness. I'm not a demanding customer really, but I felt disrespected during this visit. All I wanted was to have a quiet dinner but it just turned into a stressful event.

4 stars because the staff kept their cool (especially our server Nathan) even if there was a full house. Attentive and really nice too. Lots of other groups during my visit so it was quite noisy - table next to us were so loud so that took away from ambiance. All of our orders came in about 25-30 minutes after we ordered but it's okay, the Furikake Fries was served early so we had something to munch on before the big meals. I noticed there were so many service stations on this restaurant though but I appreciate how they tried to cover it and keep it organized and clean. Food taste and quality is the same as always whichever Yabu I go to so yay I loved my Hire and Salmon.

Best experience!!! I’m sure the pictures won’t do us any justice since you can’t smell the food...lol. But I’m telling you bring your family and friends here for the best Katsu experience. Staff are very friendly and food cost is descent. Highly recommended! P.S. don’t forget the green mango shake.

Food is as usual. I'm always amazed by how light the food are especially since it's fried. We're seated outside since the inside was packed so we don't have that mich access to the servers and it took us a long time to ask for refills but it's okay. Still worth our money. Will come back again

Enjoyed a nice lunch here this past weekend and I have to commend Jheffrey the Manager for getting us seated so quickly. The restaurant was packed and we were on the waiting list but we watched as he reconfigured table locations to get us and the others seated in a matter of minutes! The food was outstanding as we have come to expect from Yabu in all their locations. The consistency and quality of the meals are what sets Yabu apart from its competitors! We have fries which were tasty and the perfect appetizer. Lunch was Hire Katsu Curry and the Salmon, both of which was perfect. You can definitely trust this well managed location for a nice lunch, even on a crowded Saturday afternoon! Thanks again Jheffrey! 10/10 Would 100% recommend and we will be back!

Reasonable price katsu available in pork, chicken and seafood. When you get the 'set meal', it comes with cabbage, rice, fruits and drinks - refillable. The place was clean, but due to lots of customers (the time we dined), service was a bit slow. Overall, it was a nice experience and will definitely go back again.

Great food! The store offers a variety in the menu. I love the unlimited refills of cabbage, fruit slices, miso soup and rice. They have a set of friendly, courteous and approachable staff. Their attentive crews won't let you repeat your requests for refills with their quick responses.

For the first time since I started eating in Yabu back in 2011, I ordered a non-katsu dish -- gyudon. Wow, I was blown away that they had really good gyudon. Definitely reco to order this especially if you don't feel like eating katsu or you're not a fan of katsu. As always though, I had to order layu because it's so so sooooo good. Sad to know though that it's now priced at Php80 (before it was around Php40) and they still give little amount & kinda dry arrving. Wakame appetizer was also good. Service though was slower vs Megamall but maybe they were lacking in manpower during my time of visit.

It really is just OKAY. The Katsu tasted no different from other restaurants that serve the same dish at a lower price. Although the side dishes are unlimited. The sauce is an acquired taste. For me not everyone will enjoy it .

Good Tonkatsu which was swiftly served. The unli side dishes are a great bonus. Only big letdown was the cold and hard boiled egg in the Korokke Tamago. Else, I would still give it another try.

Food was great as always! Unfortunately, the place smelled awful and floor was unkempt which somewhat ruined the whole experience. Hope they can put more effort into keeping the restaurant tidy and pleasant.

The food is good and the serving is ok. Reasonable for its price. The fruits, rice and veggies are refillable if you’ll order this set. Oh it has miso soup on the set too! The place is good and they have al fresco area. The staff are friendly and helpful.

First of all, the manager is well commended. One of the waiters wasn't able to properly punch my order so I was actually waiting for nothing while all my friends were almost done eating. They prioritized my food and didn't let me pay for it. While I was waiting for my main dish they already served me the side dishes. The menu has some affordable items and I promise you, you can leave this place feeling full and getting your money's worth. The place is crowded and there is a waiting line but they manage the customer properly and even ask if you wanna switch to the couch sitting when there's free space.

Only the second branch we visited. Unfortunately, ATC branch do a better service than here in Makati. Food is still great. Daughter still love the servings. Service below par. Seeing off duty crew members talking to servers and blocking the way. Servers not attentive. Have to follow up 4x for my daughter’s spoon and fork. Followed up3x to serve my shredded cabbage. Still food is the same and we love it

I have read from an article that their katsu is the best here in Metro Manila. And they're not wrong. Their golden breading is so crunchy and the meat is so tender. The sides come unlimited like the rice, fruits, shredded cabbage with mayo sauce and miso soup. I fell in love with their mozzarella katsu sticks. It's oozing with the cheese coated with a crunch breading. The fries is okay though. Their service, the food's servings, and the quality of their food is what makes Yabu an excellent Japanese restaurant.

Food is great. Sides are refillable. The price is justified for the taste and service you get. The crew are approachable and friendly. Also, the temperature of the place is good and very clean.
