This hotel was a lucky find! Short weekend vacation. Lisboa is a magical city and this hotel was added charm. Unparalleled value for family travel. I would chose this over 5 star name brand hotels located far away from city center. Bica is a hip area with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Room is clean. Staff is friendly. Food and drinks are excellent. Walking distance to key attractions. Would stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay here. A convenient location within walking distance to nearby attractions, a number of cool bars, restaurants, cafes, markets, yoga studios, etc nearby. Easily accessible by public transport or by taxi. The entrance to the hotel was a little confusing as it looks more like a restaurant. But no big deal. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but functional end well equipped, with plenty of storage space. I’d definitely stay here again and I’d recommend.

Location is great. Service is great. I was a bit underwhelmed by the room which looked better on photo, it is on the cheap side. The japanese breakfast was a highlight. Super good. Overall great price/quality ratio..

Very good location (not up a massive hill which is rare in Lisbon) and easy to get to from the airport. The staff were always friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and spacious. We had breakfast included and this was delicious. Could not recommend higher at its very reasonable prices!

I booked 5 rooms for 3 days in this hotel and our feeling is mixed. Location is perfect and hotel mood/design as well. Rooms are clean and well designed while storage and place to hang shirts is hard to find. Breakfast doesn't suite a family needs, which is strange because they have cool family rooms: no adaptability in the menu for the kids. We asked for some hot chocolate but never succeeded while there is chocolate bottles in the fridge of the rooms... Never order the shuttle for the airport: you will pay 4 times the price of a normal taxi and get... a normal taxi. Coming to Lisbon and staying at the hotel 6 times a year, I would not come back in this one.

Centrally located, walking distance to shopping district, waterfront and all forms of transit (tram, bus, train). The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Towels were high quality and the room came equipped with slippers for guests. All nice touches. I would stay here again and recommend it.

We loved this hotel! We had the family room which was perfect for accommodating a group of 4 with really cool bunk beds and 2 bathrooms. Everything is brand new, the decor is really cool and overall it was a really comfortable, relaxing stay. The continental breakfast is SO good-particularly the granola! I loved the location too-out of the chaos of Alfama but close to some really amazing restaurants and bars. The staff were fantastic too-very friendly and accommodating.

Very nice hotel with super kind staff ! Everything is more than perfect! The location is very near to Lisbon city center in a cosy neighbourhood. You can easily take the train or bus to any destination. We stayed in their largest room, it was amazing! One remark is the breakfast. You can choose between a Japanese and a continental menu but the Japanese was not our thing. As a consequence we ate the whole week the same breakfast. They might include some more variety. But overall we would recommend this because the kindness of the staff made us smile everyday!!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Lisbon! My son and I had the most wonderful stay at Independente Bica. The staff provided impeccable service and hospitality. They were friendly, courteous to perfection, and have genuinely acted like our friends rather than just hotel staff. Regarding their restaurant, I was hesitant at first to the combination of Portuguese and Japanese cuisine; however, the food was spectacular! I definitely recommend this hotel, and I look forward to staying at this property again.

Very nice hotel and great location, the view from our room was very nice ! The bed and pillows were definitely comfortable means we were actually resting at night!! Both options of breakfast, the continental and the Japanese were really really tasty although the service from the waiters could be MUCH better, lack of attention to us and they always keep forgetting what we were ordering. A lot of tiny flies around the breakfast area and side windows it make it sometimes really annoying. During our stay, sadly the hotel didn’t have internet that was actually working. The staff at the reception were super friendly and really nice. In general we enjoyed our stay ☺️😊

First time in Lisbon and what a great hotel for exploring walking distance to lots of tourism spots! We had a pink Mateus room which was beautifully decorated with a small balcony and included breakfast which was delicious! Staff were really friendly and accommodating would love to stay again!

I'm lacking words to explain how good everything was at this place. At the heart of Lisbon, every single employee went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Impeccable service, food is amazing, their breakfast in outwordly, and the staff is really friendly. The room was tidy, clean, and comfortable. The decor was modern. Everything there is new and one can notice how much care and thought was put into it. The shower was amazing! I'd definitely stay there again. And looking forward to seeing you brand in other cities, so we can visit there just to stay with you guys :)

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. We were allowed a late checkout at the last minute. The breakfast was delicious and the egg drop soup was great. The cinnamon miso ice cream is so interesting! The only complaint we have is that the lighting in the bathroom is too dim. Everything else was great.

Schönes kleines Hotel in super Lage.
