One very long, 1.2km wooden Bridge, cutting across the lake. Was being told that teak wood were used to construct the bridge. More than 100 years and it's still serving the locals. Lots of attractions from this bridge besides transport like fishing, strolling. No cars but mostly people walk/cycle but with occasional bikes. A great site for viewing great sunsets especially for the tourists.

A wonderful place to see sunset and moon in Mandalay. This beautiful bridge is the longest teak wood bridge in the world. It is also very famous location in Myanmar that you have to go. You can see a lot of local people go there for hanging out with their friends or family. I am really keen on the image of the monks walking on this bridge at sunset, very very impressive.

Plenty of tourists are here at sunset. The bridge does not have railings, which makes it dangerous when the bridge has a human jam on it. The sunset view from here is beautiful. There is the option to take a boat out to see the sunset and I would recommend this. At any other time, walking this long bridge would be a nice way to enjoy the scenery of the river.

U-Bein Bridge is an awe-inspiring marvel in Myanmar. The world's longest teak bridge, it gracefully spans Taungthaman Lake. A serene sunset walk along its creaky planks offers unparalleled views and a chance to connect with local life as fishermen and villagers pass by in their traditional boats. It's a testament to both architectural ingenuity and cultural significance, making it a must-visit gem for travelers seeking a unique experience in Myanmar.

Исторический памятник - самый длинный деревянный мост в мире (частично неудачно реконструировали с заменой на бетонные сваи)

What to do in Mandalay and Amarapura after you've visited a thousand pagodas? Go to U Bein Bridge to watch a spectacular sunset and rub shoulders with the Burmese who absolutely love this place. If you don't like crowds, don't go on a Sunday evening, which seems to be the busiest day. If you want maximum local color, aim for Sunday afternoon. Thousands of locals come to cross the bridge on foot. Street vendors of absolutely anything and everything are everywhere. Sunsets are unforgettable from the bridge. Hues are spectacularly orange. Shadows are long. The biggest drawback will be pollution, which you will have to ignore in order to be able to enjoy everything else.

Must-visit place when you are at Mandalay. You’d better walk till the end of bridge to feel the beauty of Taung Tha Man lake instead of taking photos at beginning of bridge and going back😃.

U Bein Bridge is a crossing that spans the Taungthaman Lake near Amarapura in Myanmar. The 1.2-kilometre bridge was built around 1850 and is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world.

Longest teak wood bridge in the world. 1.2 kilometers, almost a mile (1.6 kilometers). Definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area. Can get quite busy, especially during sunset. The locals sell little birds they catch and display in cages which is terrible for the little creatures. It's so sad, but we got one to set it free. I guess that's why they keep catching them... Not really sure what to do, get one and encourage or ignore?

Oct 29 2023. My first time visiting the bridge and it legit broke. Morale of the story, never walk on something old while it's crowded.

Old bridge crossing the lake, made by teak wood, i dont know how much it cost if its build in tye present time. Visit here during the sunset will be ao nice. You can try to wlak over the bridge or you can try a boat ride underneath the bridge. But my fav is standing a side of the bridge during sunset and taking picture of people in silouette against the sunset.

A wooden bridge that was built around 200 years ago, located in Amarapura near Mandalay city. It's also the longest teak footbridge in th world. Worth visiting for the amazing scenery. Recommend visiting at sunset to enjoy the breathtaking vista.

The bridge is really long - ca. 1.2km. You could have some mixed feeling as the bright have no barriers and it is crowded with people especially during sunset. In this I recommend You to sit and drink a beer because moving with the people is not romantic at all. What is more entrance to the bridge is simply dirty and by dirty I meant dirtier than other place in area. If You have and want to see do it but not during sunset. Only walking through this bridge is quite cool - that I would recommend.

Best time to see it in the late afternoon before sunset. Hot in day time. World longest teak wooden bridge. Beautiful photography site with sunrise and sunset. Recommend you to take a boat for a while to see the beauty of the bridge.

Beautiful place. I went in the evening so there was a pretty big crowd there and there are no railings for most of the way so becareful! But we'll worth seeing. I'd recommend finding a motorbike taxi tour guide to help you get there and back and they'll also be able to give you a detailed description of the history. I paid 7k there and back (March 2019) and gave the driver 3k tip as he went above and beyond what he had to do for 7k. Check it out - it's a great little spot

Such a long bridge by wooden, it takes time to walk a long the bridge, a lot of people come here at sunset time to take picture, for good picture you need to hire a boat for 10,000kys/person, more people more cheaper!

Good place to see the sunset. It's a little crowded and the surrounding are full of trash but the views are very nice.

Stunning views for sunset ! If you walk to the end of the bridge there is a bar that is nice to kickback and watch but if you just want the perfect picture go below the bridge in the center roughly. There is many visitors/tourists but it does not affect the views so go enjoy !

It’s a great building and I wanted to see it. In my opinion it was to crowded during sunset, maybe depends on the season but everything was full of busses. If you want the pictures you can go there, maybe take pictures in front of the bridge because on the bridge it is super crowded. I would not go during sunset.

The place is beautiful but it is crowded with so many people when it is full moon day or some holidays. The best time to visit there is evening about 4 to 6 PM.
