Ancient Sri Janardana temple is located in Ambalpadi,  Udupi,  and has Mahakali mandir on one side,  Janardana pushkarani on the other,  an Anjaneya temple with an idol containing incarnations of Mukhyaprana on the front,  and a Brandavan of Raghavendra Swamji in the vicinity.thought that goddess Mahakali was first worshipped in a stone. Even now,  the same stone is revered alongside Mahakali's wooden statue.  As a result,  Mahakali was formerly revered in this area,  and Janardana Swamy came here in quest of the goddess,  deciding to stay and protect followers. A must visit spiritual place while you visit udupi,

This is very ancient temple and madeup of rocks block. It is an architectural marvel. It is one of the beautiful snd peacefull place of udupi. Devotees came here in search of inner peace and they found too which makes it special place. People forget their all the sins and pain and worship Mahakali with pure heart and soul. Beautiful temple of Goddess Mahakali which probably is not on the checklist of many visiting Udupi. You should visit this temple to get a divine darshan of the Godess in the roudra avatar.
