Small Indonesian restaurant with also vegetarian and vegan dishes. The restaurant indoor seating is limited and we were happy to have reserved our table well in advance. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff is fast and efficient taking orders and serving us. We ordered various delicious vegetarian dishes some of them with yummy peanut sauce. The portions are a little too small in our opinion, but if you also take starters and dessert, than it should be fine.

Midrange Indo-Malay-British food. Was pretty disappointed in the rijstaffel. Reminded me of the types in Amsterdam at the not so great restaurants. Gado gado was just strange. A lot of the dishes were lacking. I'm not sure in what, but they tasted flat. Seasonings were just not on point. And not very spicy. Really let down by the egg sambal. Food and flavours just seem toned down. Satays were okay (beef was much better than chicken). Finally, a place that has kue lapis on the menu and has it in-house when I order it! That was a nice bonus. Clearly a family run business and it got fully packed by the time we were done, and they had regulars come in too. Regulars are always a good sign. Not sure I'd say it's a "tourist trap" as at least 50% of the patrons appeared local, and it was not full of white people. All tables around me were Malay or Indonesian people, as was the big party that came in. The prices are quite steep for the quality and quantity however. (Rijstaffel was fair-sized however.) A reso is probably a good idea for dinner. It is a popular spot.

One of the best Indonesian food in London… price is reasonable… food is excellent… staff was friendly and service was fast… you can walk in but it is advisable to book in advance as it will be quite packed during lunch and dinner. We came as a pax of 7 and they can accomodate easily… we ordered Ayam kampumg sambal hijau, daging dendeng, sayur lodeh, ayam bawang and white rice… All the food is authentic indonesia taste and very delicious. The place is just off seven dials and walkimg distance from Leicester square and chinatown… And the food is Halal… another plus for us. This is our 3rd trip to this restaurant.. we will drop by this place whenever we are on our holiday in London. Highly recommended.

Craving delicious, authentic Asian food? Look no further than Bali Bali! This family-run gem offers fresh, high-quality dishes made with love. We loved the Nasi Gogren, Nasi Lemak & chicken satay - flavorful & perfectly cooked. The friendly staff even helped us seat ourselves & recommend dishes. Left feeling happy & satisfied! #asianfoodlondon #balibali

Bali Bali provides more diverse options than your “typical” Indonesian restaurant. We ordered some Semur Daging, Soto Ayam, and Char Kwaytiau. Everything was delicious, especially the Semur Daging. I find it harder to stumble upon this particular dish considering other restaurants would generally just serve a more common Indonesian dish such as Nasi Goreng. As an Indonesian, I can vouch that the dishes we tried are authentic. Was really happy with finding and trying out this restaurant and will most definitely be coming back to try more of the menu.

Went there mid week with a work colleague. Went specifically for the rendang, was hoping for the Indonesian style one which is slightly blacker and dryer. Unfortunately what they had was the Malaysian style one. The food was OK, sort of like a mom/pop home cooked style, not what you would call fine dining. There was a large selection of dishes, some were flavoursome, some well were not. Didn't really like the wrapped parcles, sort of fried meat and veges, a bit bland. The tempura prawns were not tempura, rather breadcrumbed and fried. The Gado Gado lacked that peanutty punch you would expect. Underwhelmed overall.

recently visited Bali Bali, an Indonesian restaurant located in London. The location was ideal and the staff were extremely friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. The food was delicious and the flavors were authentic. The dishes were prepared with care and attention to detail. The prices were reasonable and I found the value for money to be excellent. I would highly recommend Bali Bali to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Dinner before a show. We found the restaurant accidentally- our nose guided us there!! Friendly efficient service- they showed us images of food on an iPad to help us make choices. Lumpia as a starter- we ordered two but had we shared the one it would have been perfect too- big unlike the tiny ones you get in a Chinese restaurant. Slightly greasy but loaded with shrimp, chicken, vegetables and lots of flavour. We ordered the egg fried rice, kari ayam and udang mesak pedas. Sufficient food for two of us. The prawns were really spicy- fine for me, my husband needed a Mac Flurry later! We were sorely tempted to order the whole fish and will be back to give it a go soon.

A small, but very popular Indonesian restaurant, I was very impressed with the quality of the food, in my case a chicken dish marinated in coconut milk, and a nasi goreng. I would suggest booking, every table was taken, and there was a small queue outside when I left

The wife is Indonesian and I love the food. They're all really friendly, good service and the food was excellent. They adjusted my rendang ti replicate food from the region of padang, and it was just like being back in Sumatera. Will go again next time in London.

Food was not so good, I can cook better at home. Customer service was very poor, I got treated like a criminal because I opted out of the optional service charge. The waiter was very rude and caused a scene for no reason. NEVER GOING BACK.

Food : 8/10 surely very authentic Indonesian flavour without adjusting to European taste. So when it’s say hot/spicy it means it is REALLY spicy. Depend on your choice if u like spicy or not.but food overall is good👍🏼. Venue : 5/10 Decoration was bit old and window display just like another Chinese store. Vibe : 2/10 we came here about 21.30 pm . At first we were the first two customer and after 20 mins there’s another group of 3 foreign came in and that’s it until we leave around 22.40pm . Staff talking to each other and loud. Service : 1/10 if u think u gonna get those Asian warm hospitality here, oh well that just a dream. They are COLD. But, there’s only one guy that seems like bit friendly than the other two. About mid aged man with batik shirt I believe he’s indonesian. He was greeting us warmly when we enter restaurant then he left somewhere. So there’s a guy with a beard and also a younger girl serving us. Both of them is COLD. While we are eating they just chatting to each other and their friend, that visiting the restaurant. I believe is Malay. But I’m not sure. They were so loud. Really annoying though. Until the other customer ‘ which is the group of 3’ shout that they want to order. Then I open my phone n checked their reviews. there’s lot people complaining how bad the service was. Iam a foodie n myself I was managing a restaurant before also, so this is really disappointing. The owner really have to take action to fixed it . Price : 7/10 as you can see the bill that I capture ! Yes 10-15% is extra ‘service fee’ in London on top of ur bill. But obviously we wasn’t happy so we just pay our bill. U have a right not to pay the ‘service fee’. Myself I won’t be back or recommend this place.

One of indonesian restaurant in London. They have plenty of indonesian food options and we ordered the all in one menu of the day, which consists several options for minimum 2 persons. To be honest, not the best indonesian restaurant I have ever tried, I thought since UK has more indonesian people, therefore the food could be more delicious, but the fact, the taste was so so. You need to book the table in advance unless you need to wait a bit for queueing.

Me and my bestie come here at least 3 times a year. So much so the owner recognises us haha! For us there's a reason we come here year after year for the last 5 or 6 years, the quality and customer service. The quality of the food has not compromised in any way. The portions are generous and the hospitality is great. Highly recommend you make a reservation because it can get super busy very quickly. We've been here on weekend nights and even during the week. One time we came on Tuesday night and it was at capacity so make a reservation!! The food is a great representation of indo-malay food.

Went to this place several times. Overall, the food was decent. We tried beef martabak, chicken semur, char kway teow, corn fritter, sea bass balado. I personally liked their chicken semur with rice. It had a unique and rich flavour, which was slightly different compared to semur back home in Indonesia, but still comforting (a bit like ayam saus mentega). A five-star dish! Very pleasant to eat. The atmosphere and service were ok. One of halal food options at Soho.

Came to Bali2 with colleagues who never tried Indonesian food before. They love the rendang, ordered it two times :) My favorite is the fried chicken with garlic and sambal teri, the spice is just good hot. Not too pricey :) Taste: 4/5 Price: 5/5 Location: 4/5

Good food, friendly staff. If you don’t know about Indonesian cuisine, ask the staff for recommendations. I did the same. I never had Indonesian food before and they were nice enough to recommend some dishes. Food was nice, spring roll was a bit oily for my taste. I’m always reluctant to have sea food as I’m not a fan of the smell. I was afraid Nasi goreng was gonna have smelly stuff but it was perfectly cooked. Would visit again!

Every time I come to London, I made a point of coming here. It's really hard to get Beef Rendang in Scotland (especially authentic, spicy stuff) and Bali Bali does it so well! The Chicken Satay is also absolutely fantastic. It's just as good as a brilliant place I found in Yogyakarta years ago. Love, love, love it here.

Stumbled across this little place outside China Town. Lovely food, though next time I would request spicier food. The dishes that we ordered had a chili next to them on the menu to indicate spice but they weren't spicy at all. Decent service. They offered us a table so that we could eat and sit more comfortably.

The food is delicious! First time ever trying Indoneisian food and I can't seem to have enough of it. To be honest, I can't fault this place. A bit small, very well decorated with Indonesian art, definitely unpretentious, great customer service. I have been twice now, will take more of my mates again.

As an Indonesian who's been away from home for years, this restaurant is as closest you can get to an authentic Indonesian flavour you can get in London. I came here around 5PM in New Year's Eve. it was very quite. Restaurant offers wide range of Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine with intimate atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Serves good halal food, manager was very welcoming and lovely. The portions are good and main dishes are pricey. Egg fried rice was wallay buff👍🏼this rice was fragrant and came with dried onions I recommend. Mee Goreng was amazing. Beef Rendang the flavour was minimal, has a little kick to it but wasnt as spicy as i expected, but good portioning for the price.

Can cook better at home. Went there for lunch, they have a lunch set menu of a starter and a main course for £8.50, which seemed good but the dishes themselves were tasteless and came steaming hot and I burnt my tongue. The Nasi goreng really had no taste and the chicken was very dry so I had to ask for some extra peanut sauce. This was also not a traditional nasi goreng. The service was also very slow which was ridiculous because there was only 2 other tables occupied at the time. A small can of Diet Coke was also £3!! And they charged me service charge also for 1 person! Bit ridiculous.

We were looking for somewhere to eat when we happened upon Bali Bali. We saw a table was free and entered swiftly. What luck we had because the food was amazing. We had a rijstafel so we could try as many Indonesian dishes as possible. We were asked where we came from and when we replied we were Dutch they asked if we wanted it a bit more spicey. Yes! We were so full and still wanted more. The traditional dishes reminded me of an elderly Indonesian man that used to train at my gym who would often bring us little homemade Indonesian dishes that tasted just as good as these. Thank you for the kind reception, the all friendly staff and the good memories of an old friend.

The lunch menu was good. The £11.50 lunch menu was good. My mum had the prawn soup and the prawn sambal with rice. I had the roti canai was good but a some bits were bit burnt, hence 4 star. The beef rendang wasn’t to my liking it had a charcoal taste. It was busy and I would go again. Not wheelchair accessible. Toilet in basement.
