😠 Food was alright, I could have been back, but the annoying pricing trick puts me off. The bill came with a ridiculous 21% government tax, which was not mentioned on the menu or anywhere, as they explained that it's actually not government, but half Vat and half service charge. I came to eat, not to... People often mention service, price, salt, expensive,

Food was OK. Much more expensive compared to everything else in the area. 21% surcharge on top of an already expensive bill. Nice atmosphere, had to pay to use their pool tables which weren't very good

The bill came with a ridiculous 21% government tax, which was not mentioned on the menu or anywhere, as they explained that it's actually not government, but half Vat and half service charge. I came to eat, not to do the maths; if you charge for the service, please do us a favour and provide it by counting and putting the correct prices on your menu. Is there way not to pay it? If not, just include it in the price, this annoying 'marketing' trick won't get your business anywhere.

(Translated by Google) There is a salt farm on the grounds of the Café and Hotel Garam. There we wanted to watch the farmer in the salt production, but unfortunately this was not there. The staff of the Café Garam has called extra for the farmers to ask when he is back. The time we drove away with table tennis, chess and billiards and a delicious lunch. When the farmer was there, he showed us everything exactly and explained it. It was really interesting. He did not want to have any money for that, so we bought in two packs of sea salt and he was happy.

Food is OK. Stingy on portions. They are claiming government taxes (21%) on an un-numbered bill, which is questionable.

Stopped here just to play pool. Great place. But our taste buds were playing up cos our scotch tasted more like jungle juice than johny walker, but the beers were cold and hit the spot.

Cappuccino? It is a normal coffee with a thin layer of foam... , and the Ice coffe... they put new price in the billXD terrible... +2,5€ each... and the excessive price +21% tax (there are places around less than a minute walk, better prices, NO tax and better coffee and better presented). I do not recommend it at all. The place is nice and the service is acceptable.

Good food and location. Spend some time reading about the local salt (Garam means salt in Bahasa) production that used to be one of the main industries of Amed. They still run a small salt production with the product available for sale.

Don’t waste your time going here, food is very average, the service is ok, nice atmosphere for Amed but all in all doesn’t worth it at all. On top of it they’ll charge you 21% service and tax which is extremely expensive not just for Amed but for Bali as a whole. Would rather go to a place next to this one, Natnat 👍

I suggest anybody who wants to get food in that restaurant to reconsider it. Too expensive and the food is not great. A sweet breakfast consists of two little pieces of untoasted bread with a tiny bit of jam and butter. And that’s 69k. One star.

The Corona crisis is severely affecting the town of Amed. The small cafe still offered us fresh juices. These were prepared hygienically. You can also learn interesting things about the extraction of sea salt here. We hope this place can survive.
