Super friendly staff, clean and comfortable big rooms that have an incredible view of the ocean. Food is great and served with a view of the ocean.. of course. Sailing school is on site as well so if you want to learn it is an option. Super benefit is the fact you can snorkel right off the beach and see one of the healthiest reefs I have seen in SE Asia. Tons of great fish and coral in warm water only steps from your room. I want to come back again.

The view from the room on the sea was amazing. The best point is to be able to watch the stars from the terrasse of the swimming pool or the "romantic nest" in front of the sea. We ate lunch at the restaurant but didn’t stay at the hotel. The restaurant has an amazing view of the ocean over an infinity pool. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Our initial reason to come to Amed was to learn to sail with the Villa's First Dutch Sailing School. Due to the conditions during rain season, we weren't able to sail. However, Derek was kind enough to give us 2 hours of his free time to show us the boat, watch put up the mast and how the rigging is installed. He gave us a lot of tips and knowledge on how to get into sailing in Europe and made us feel very welcome.

Villa Bukit Segara far exceeded my expectations during my stay in October last year. The menu board caught my eye as I explored the coastline on foot. I was curious to see what they offered. The driveway wound through beautiful gardens with farm animals and private villas. At the end of the drive lay a hidden oasis which opened up to the ocean, beyond a crystal blue infinity pool. The staff were friendly and greeted me with smiles. They were happy for me to view the property and use the restaurant which I did. The meal was fresh and delicious. I cancelled the accommodation I had previously booked at my next location and settled in at Villa Bukit Segara for 3 luxurious nights. My room was filled with natural light, spotlessly clean and expansive. A private, undercover sitting area with views to the gardens and water, provided another zone in which to relax. The total space was larger than an apartment or small home. A natural spring supplied water to the property including the showers and the pool, it was lovely on my skin. The staff were so generous, kind and assisted me with every request. I look forward to staying again on my next visit to Bali. Thank you for a blissful stay.

Villa Bukit Segara is an amazing villa-style resort on the east coast of Bali that exceeded all my expectations. The views of the ocean in the day and stars at night were breathtaking,  the infinity pool overlooking the coast was a dream come true and the villa has been built with an ethos of peace at it's core - they even positioned all of the infrastructure needed to run the property, such as air conditioning units, considerately so that they can not heard from villas or communal spaces. This means that at night and all through the day all you will hear is the crashing of the ocean waves and the sounds of nature. Bliss. The villa itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The decor was unique and stunning, with beautiful Batik artworks that added to the charm and elegance of the place. The staff were incredibly hospitable and helpful, always ready to assist me with anything I needed. I especially want to thank manager Sery, and Barry from the front of house team, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable and enjoyable. They were friendly, professional and attentive, and gave me great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. Through talking to them I discovered that starting in July 2023 the sailing school will be offering a 3 day 2 night sailing expedition to the Gili Islands and Lombok! They have even built an entirely new boat accomodating 1 instructor and 3-4 sailors for this expedition that I could see in their dock during my stay. The expedition will apparently provide a combination of sail experience and training with surfing, snorkelling and 2 nights in beach hotels. This has certainly given me a reason to come back in the near future! As the owner Derk says: for adventurous spirits but no sail experience is required. I highly recommend Villa Bukit Segara to anyone looking for a peaceful and luxurious getaway in Bali. It was truly a paradise!

We would highly recommend both of it! - Sailing: You start with the theory and right after you get to put it into practice in the sailing boot. The owner is Dutch and you can tell by the high quality materials that he takes your safety seriously. - Villa: The location is unreal. Infinity pools, beautiful restaurant with good food, looking over the sunset at dinner. But most of all, the staff is so friendly. They took care of our 2 year old daughter when we did the sailing course and she felt at home directly. Bonus tip: Try the slow-cooked duck! And request to have your dinner on the ‘romantic’ deck. You’ll have a candle light dinner all by yourself with sunset!

The first night we stayed we took advantage of the romantic dinner on the pier made with fresh ingredients from the garden on premises.
