This place is situated in the most beautiful place in the eastern part of Bali. The view that opens from here is stunning and breathless. The bungalows have everything for comfort life. You can have your cocktail in the pool while watching the bay from the heights and thinking about pleasant things because here all the bad are left behind. One of the best places on Bali islands. The biggest recommendation for those who are looking for quality service and great rest.

Beautiful Resort! We stayed 2 nights in the Jacuzzi Lodge, the room was so pretty! Highlight was the outside bath room and Jacuzzi with sea view! The breakfast and also the restaurant (had dinner twice) was really yummy. The hotel itself is quit and relaxing on the hill, amazing view! You can see the ocean from the pool, just beautiful! They also have a free Shuttle, takes around 20min down to Amed (Vienna Beach). Last but not least the stuff was so friendly. Highly recommend, especially for couples.

The hotel is nice but not quite up to the standard of other 5 star hotels In Bali. It is very isolated up a 3km track but there is a shuttle that takes you up from the beach and runs every hour on request which makes you feel less cut off. It has amazing views down to the sea and the pool area is lovely. The room was large and spacious. The veranda area was really nice with multiple seating areas and panoramic views. The architecture of the hotel in general is very nice and well detailed. We found the service friendly and the staff pleasant but a bit slow. We had to put our own cushions on sun loungers and I had to search for staff to get drink or food menus or make an order if I wanted anything. The drinks and food were quite disappointing but the burger was not bad. I'd skip the cocktails and stick to beer in the future. As the hotel only has one pool, it changes the peaceful vibe a bit when there are children around. Other similar hotels have a no children policy and feel more relaxed. My biggest issue was noise. Our room was loud with hotel guests talking until midnight in the restaurant, roosters from 6am and then room-shaking bass from the neighbours music at 8am although this ended after 30 minutes. Unfortunate as the whole selling point of the lodge is that it is secluded and peaceful. On checkout it took over an hour for them to get an Internet connection to process the payment and for the shuttle to arrive to take us back down to Amed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but if I was to come back to Amed, I would probably stay somewhere cheaper and closer to the beach.

The property is absolutely amazing! The views were beautiful! Great food, relaxing spa, clean pool, friendly staff! Our room was really nice, and we got to watch the sunrise from our balcony every morning. They even provide room service! I will mention, the road from the rooms to the restaurant and pool is VERY steep! So be prepared for that. Also, the roosters are loud lol so bring ear plugs! (The road from the main road to the hotel is steep and bumpy, but they provide a shuttle and you're there before you know it!)

This resort is absolutely amazing. If you’re uncertain on where to stay when visiting Bali, I definitely recommend staying at the Mathis Lodge in Amed. I cannot fault this place. The view, rooms, FOOD, and people are extraordinary. Would highly recommend the cooking class with the incredible head Chef Suantara! 10/10 must visit.

I stumbled upon this amazing spot recently, as I was adventuring in Amed area. Secluded spot up on the hills, overlooking to a deep valley with ocean view. Villas are absolutely amazing, food, service and staff top notch !!! I definitely want to go back and spend some quality time in this paradise place.

The Pool lodge was amazing : clean, very nicely decorated and a lot of privacy with the other lodges. We really enjoyed this luxory stay! We had our best tuna tartare in the restaurant. Perfect stay for 1-2 nights. The place is 25 minutes higher in the hill with a shuttle needed from the hotel (every hour) so not so convenient to visit the places around.

10/10 absolutely fantastic! I don't know how some people rate such a beautiful place less than 5 stars - because it's too aesthetic for Bali?! You're kidding me. :D The view is AMAZING! The hotel is on top of a mountain, about 20 minute shuttle ride away. There is a cute little stop at the bottom and top to get up and down the street. This shouldn't do it on your scooter, believe me the road is difficult. The shuttle runs every half hour or you can arrange a different time via WhatsApp (e.g. late in the evening). The furnishings are in a boho/jungle style, and the pool is also a dream. The staff is super friendly!

It may take some time to get there but the view is all worth it. Mathis Amed has a stunning view of the ocean and hills. And their villas are also amazing. I've stayed in a Private Pool Family Lodge. The villa is spacious and has an ethnic design. It also has its private infinity pool overlooking a beautiful hill and ocean. A perfect place to spend our holiday. 😍🥰

The perfect luxury getaway north of Bali. The villas are very spacious and well decorated. Unstated at the pool villa and the view was amazing. The bathroom in half open and the nature sound while showering is so relaxing. The main pool has a beautiful shape and you can chill having snacks and drinks with the view of The Valley. Beautiful place, if you have the chance to go to A,ed, I definitely recommend anatas at Mathis Amed.

The rooms were really beautiful and unique. I loved the outside bed and the bathroom was really special! The service was very good and the restaurant had some delicious food. The pool area was beautiful. It would have been nice if there were towels readily available at the pool and room slippers, but apart from that, the stay was lovely! The location of the hotel is a 20 minute ride away from Amed, but the shuttle down to the town now runs until 10 pm, and is very convenient.

AMAZING! Although the journey to get there was a bit hassle, nothing can beat the view! It’s so serene, the pool overlooks the beach and the trees. The room is aesthetically pleasing and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, the foods are awesome.

Very gorgeous hotel, nice and chilled, beautiful pool, beautiful rooms, cleaned 10/10 everyday. Location is absolutely amazing, although because of the amazing location it gets a bit tiring getting in and out of town everyday. (Minor issue that is expected with this beautiful hillside location) Sun beds probably should of had some leather or easy clean cushions as there was some stains on there that kind of ruined the majestic look of the pool area. Again very picky and minor issue. That staff here are really good and helpful.

We had a lovely stay for 6 nights. Staff was super polite and helpful. The communication for the shuttle service to the hotel went flawlessly. The view is stunning and the food is good. Prices are higher than other places but reasonable. All in all a very nice experience we will enjoy again in the future!

We have been there for three nights. The lodges are beautiful, also with your own jacuzzi. Staff is extremely courteous. There is always the option to order your food on a vegetarian base. However, it’s still quite pricy and quality is okay so I guess you pay for the view and location. Also, we had to pay 15€ for our laundry to be done without having the price being communicated before. When you plan to stay there, keep in mind to bring your oropax because there is a lot of farm noise going on 😉

The hotel and the room are really nice actually, there is no discussion about the lodge and cottage decoration. We were in the Jaccuzi Room and the view is amazing. But because the "road is still in maintenance" (the hotel opened in June 2019...), then you are completely dependant of the shuttle of the hotel which is only operating from 7 am to 6 pm. So of course, you will eat at the hotel with never seen before prices and taxes. Breakfast is looking nice, but I've been sicked the minute I ate the Yogurt Perfect (normally "Vegan"). Oh and yes, if you are a light sleeper, good luck. You will have a concert of roasters calling from 4 am in the morning... yes 4 am. I asked for ear plug, but they don't have this. 5 stars hotels... And don't have ear plug with a concert of roaster every morning. And last things, we didn't get electricity a big part of the night, so no air-conditioning. Except the decoration and view, it's absolutely not a 5 star hotel. Will never recommend it to friends coming in Bali.

10/10 - Amazing place, Loved everything in it. The balcony of the room is spectacular, with a bed to se the sunrise or just chill in the evening. The restaurant with views to the pool, the dinner was delicious. Very kind and helpfull staff. LOVED IT

Rooms.are incredible and the resort has some stunning views. The food is very good, particularly the mahi mahi. The BBQ was nice also with a good selection to chose from, I was worried for our safety on the way up to the hotel. The road isn't a road, more a 4x4 track. Clearer communication needs to be made here about shuttle.service.The paths in the resort are narrow and dangerously uneven. Taxi booked by the hotel decided to try and take someone with us in the car, whom he left outside the hotel. In my opinion this place is great but has its clear faults.

Great resort with such a view!! The room is super nice and the pool is just lovely!! Every corner is instagramable!! Staff are nice. The only downside is it’s far from everything, and we need to wait for the shuttle to go up and down from the main road. Breakfast option is good…but dinner was just so so.

Great place for a relaxing vacation in nature! The views are amazing! Cool interior, service is on top, delicious breakfasts. Definitely want to come back here

I was not able to reach anyone at the hotel to coordinate pick-up to avoid going up there in the scooter. Tried Instagram, land line, WhatsApp and all failed. Getting up there with a scooter at night was very hard and scary, even if you are a very good driver. On top of that, the bed sheets were dirty and the room smelled bad. It’s a beautiful hotel but unfortunately, it failed to deliver a good experience. With so many other options to choose from, I wouldn’t stay at this property unless you are willing to just be at the hotel the entire time without exploring the town since it is an absolute nightmare to get up and down from the hotel.

This is really a hidden gem of Bali (drop dead serious). The view is spectacular (especially from the pool), the food is tasty (reasonable price) and more over, the service is super excellent (big shout out to Frederick and the Team that took care of me). PS: The access to the location is quite challenging. I would recommend everyone to use the shuttle provided. But I promise it would be super worth it. I will be back :D

Beautiful view with disastrous management. After 14 days in Bali and many wonderful experiences, we stumbled across this hotel. Unfortunately, the stay was overshadowed by the bad and overwhelmed "manager". We stayed in a tiny side room and when we were asked how we liked it, at the next morning during the breakfast and we unfortunately had to answer that we slept poorly and our room is tiny, the manager didn't respond in a polite and understanding manner but directly with sarcasm: "We and our expectations of the room are the fault and not the room itself". I thought I was in the wrong movie. But that was only the beginning. When my Indonesian friend repeated what I said, he just started laughing about him. And instead of listening, he went further and just added, "Aha, so you don't really have a complaint, you're just complaining for the sake of complaining." Seriously, that's the sort of response you might expect from a complaint at a bad provincial fast food chain, but certainly not from a "hotel manager." The fact that we were shocked seemed to leave the "manager" completely cold or he didn't even notice it in his endless arrogance. When we wanted to continue our breakfast in peace, he also claimed that he had not started a conversation, but we. And I just thought, Excuse me, have we arrived at kindergarten now? When he walked away, he also grumbled: "As always..." There were four of us and we were completely alone in the resort and with the "management" that's hardly surprising. Never again! Yet there are so many alternatives, beautiful resorts and villas in Bali and in none of them we came only close of hearing anything quite as rude, annoying and saw such a prime example of miscasting the management.

The entire property is remarkable, beautiful layout and rooms. The manager was kindly gave us the room with one of the best spot straight in the middle where we have beautiful sea view. Both restaurant and the rooms have unique concept and interior design. The service was excellent. It just that the location is in the middle of nowhere, small unfinished road from the main road all the way up to the property on the hill that took you 15 minutes-ish, but the good thing is the hotel provides pick up car and you can park your bike or own car in a designated parking lot. One of the most unforgettable staycation experiences.

Such an amazing spot, highly recommend! Manager Frederick went above and beyond to take care of us. The rooms are impeccably appointed, the bed is insanely comfortable, and the sunrises cannot be beat. I love that the rooms are all situated so that no one can see you and you cant see anyone else when you're on your private balcony. The included breakfast is fantastic. Note that the road up to the hotel is not accessible by car so the staff pick you up and drop you off. If you're planning activities in Amed try to line them up so you only have to go to and from the hotel once.

We had a wonderful stay in this incredible landscape and view. Once there, you just don't want to move, even though there are various activities organized by the hotel. We can enjoy the place, the swimming pool, the food in such a beautiful restaurant, the massages, the sunset and sunrise (while walking in the hills). From the main road to the hotel was an adventurous drive 😊. We had a tiring and adventurous experience in the sun to get to the property. Unfortunately we did not get instructions on What's App on how to get there which made it a difficult experience, unfortunately for our driver who tried to get up there with our family of 5 and heavy luggage. Make sure you receive the instructions a few days before going there in order to organize yourself well. With this, it becomes very simple in fact. Fortunately, we managed to find villagers and scooters because going up under the sun became hazardous. The manager was friendly enough to offer us a free dinner as an apology. Friendly and really efficient and helpful staff. Nice restaurant. The food was good value. This is the place I would really like to come back and recommend to others. Looking at the photos leave me speechless...

great hotel and restaurant! They serve mostly western food so you can expect burgers, pizzas, and pastas. The view is amazing and the ambiance is so relaxing. But the road to get there is quite extreme and really hard, but fortunately they have a shuttle service that will pick you up from Amed in Vienna hotel so you don't have to drive all the way there

Absolutely not worth it. Noisy local neighbors singing karaoke non-stop, food is bad and overpriced, hard to walk everywhere. Was in amed for the first time and really disappointed. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone

Highly recommended this beautiful place ! Affordable romantic Lodge in Bali with stunning views, great ambiance and yummy food I went there with my wife for a weekend trip. The stuff was very professional and always available for any question or help. It’s a little adventure to go to the hotel but the view is definitely worth it!, Road is difficult - but the view cost it! I have never had such a stunning view! The hotel has a shuttle so no problem to go down to the restaurants, beach etc.! The breakfast was also really nice and they everything you need to start your day good and happy🌞 Great Room Excellent view, Nice service, good atmosphere, amazing design, nice staff, all clean, tasty food. We will back again for sure. I really recommend to visit this place This place is a pearl! I will definitely come back!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights from 23-25 Jan. We were meant to stay for one night but when we saw the place we changed it to two nights. All I can say is wow! This place is heaven on earth. The shuttle to the lodge is quite exciting as you don’t know where you are going to end up. It’s actually a really nice ride because you pass through the homes of the local people, who are all waving to you with big smiles on their face. When you finally reach the top you are greeted with another shuttle bus waiting to take you to the resort. The views from the top are breathtaking. The service is impeccable, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt like superstars. The food… omg the food was so delicious. The room was absolutely beautiful as was the outdoor bathroom. Probably one of the best showers I had in Bali! It really is a hidden gem that everyone must see. I highly recommend staying at Mathis Lodge!

Beautiful time away. The food, cooked by Chef Made, was excellent! We stayed in the Jacuzzi suite which was beautiful in the rain. The only thing was arriving by scooter in the rain was very difficult as the road is old and bumpy., it was very dangerous. I suggest going by car if possible.

Amazing landscape and view. From the main road to the hotel was adventured road 😊. Friendly and helpfully staff. Beautiful restaurant. Food was good value for the price. I like more spend afternoon in the pool area with a good wine. I will come back and recomend to others.

Stunning hotel with unique decoration. Rooms are very spacious, clean and the view is breathtaking. Staff extremely friendly. Going to the room is a bit steep so if you have some type of disability it can be hard ( I went with a damaged knee and I was fine). The steep is what gives the unique view when you are in the pool or your room or in the pool in your room lol. To go to the hotel and back down the beach you will take the golf cart up at free of charge. There are staff at pick up point, super friendly and comfortable. They are still building the road since the hotel is fairly new. Only thing needs to be improved is the chef, the dinner was not good at all. Food is very very basic for 3x the amount they charging on the beach. We would stay again and definitely recommend this place

Amazing stay. The view was gorgeous - and the food was delicious!! The room was super comfortable, and clean. Location wise, it was a 20 minute shuttle ride - and a little bumpy - it was so worth it though! However, it would not be accessible for elderly with its path steepness.
