This is a perfect place to enjoy the ocean. 5 beachfront bungalows with spectacular sunrises and moonrises. The restaurant has amazing views. Rooms are excellent with coffee making facilities, great bathroom with semi outdoor shower and lovely balcony. Included breakfast is very good with a one drink and two food items. Staff is very friendly. Update: February 2023. Stairway to Heaven Bungalows has reopened after 2 1/2 years of being closed for COVID. I was in Amed in February 2022 and had to stay elsewhere. Came here and it really looked abandoned. I was afraid it would never reopen. But it has. I love this place. I have stayed here 5 or 6 times. 5 bungalows set right along a quite private beach, nice verandas to sit on and watch the sunrise and moonrise. Great snorkeling right from the beach with easy access. Just a short swim to the "Japanese Wreck" just around the point.

A stunning view, and straight on the beach! A bit high for a better view! We stayed here to extend our trip, and absolutely loved the view from the sea! We could enjoy the sunrise, had a great place for snorkeling, and the Internet was good enough to work remotely! But I was a bit sad it wasn't a pool... That would make the place One of the best to stay!

The Bungalows are very big & comfortable and with great view to the sea. Also, great terace for relaxing. But, there is no beach in front of the resort, you have to go in front of the next resort. If you are looking for a nice beach with beach beds and clear water, this is not the place for you. The small beach neaby is full with the locals fishing boats and is good for snorkeling, once you pass the dead coral near the shore and the rocks that are everywhere. I was expecting to enjoy the chill sound of the waves during the night, as other places I’ve stayed and were beach front, but instead it sounded like it was always a big storm, because of the big noise of the waves crashing to the big rocks and the wall the resort is building. And this was happening during good weather. The restaurant is nice, but food is just average. Fresh juices are very good. The service is not great, as the front desk person, that also served the food and all, seemed a bit anoyed some of the time and it was difficult to get along with her and the rest of the staff as they don’t understand basic english. If you don’t have complex demands, you’ll be just fine. Although they have a POS, they say it’s not working and make you pay with cash. So, bring cash or you can fight with them and they will take the POS up the street, where it has signal and it works (I saw some tourist do that). The front desk lady was not happy about it :))).

Very good fruit juices WITHOUT water or ice. They cool down the fruit itself. Awesome taste and great view. Prices are reasonable. You can also get a beer if you are just lying on the beach, which is by the way one of the best in the whole area in my opinion.

Wow the food here is REALLY good. I just had a chicken petutu and banana sate. So far one of the best traditional Balinese food I had in Bali and I've been here for 5 years. The view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning.

It's a really cool place, super relaxed, cosy bungalows. Would be 5 stars except the check out was a huge let down. Bring cash or be expected to go on a merry dance to alternative hotels to find a machine that works. Usually I'm not too anal about this kind of stuff but the machines had clearly been broken for a long time and the staff were happy to make it my problem.

Good location, just on the shore, sound of waves makes staying very atmospheric. And instead of writing about disadvantages I’ll tell our story. When we moved in to our house the fridge was not working. But not a big deal, we can survive without that, so didn’t complain and started settling. The first night was very interesting though. As soon as the light was turned off box of chips that we left on the table suddenly fell off. We thought it’s probably just wind, so didn’t pay attention. After that box of chips started moving around, I’ve turned the flash light on and spotted huge (15-20cm) rat on the couch. We didn’t like the opportunity to share room with rat (even though we like animals) and I went to reception to request another room. After half an hour of google translate conversation with guy on duty (because he spoke zero English) we were allowed to move to another house, where by the way fridge was working fine. Few days before checking out we also found cute mice in the bath. So it’s up to you to judge. Location is very close to the nature, but that was a bit too close for us. Besides that, food in their restaurant is quite bad (if you order more than standard breakfast). Be aware that scooter is the must (can be rented in the hotel) for this location.

This is one awesome piece of paradise. Your own spacious Bali Bungalow with sunrise watching terrace , right at the sea with reef inside. What else you may need? Yes! Very tasty food and the most friendly and welcoming staff ever. I so much recommend this place. Truly awesome.

Truly peaceful place to stay. Breakfasts are big and delicious. The staff are wonderful and the views and snorkelling are world class. We have stayed here five times and will keep coming back.

We enjoyed a delightful 16-night stay here. It's a stunning and serene place nestled in tranquil Amed. The staff is incredibly kind, and the breakfast with its panoramic view of leaping dolphins is simply lovely. 🌴🐬 Thank you for the wonderful experience!

clean territory and clean sandy beach, The rooms are ordinary cozy with a large bath and shower, there was tea, coffee (2 types), water in the room, all rooms with sea views, the dawn shines directly on their own terrace, Breakfast was good and included in the price (I took a smoothie pancake omelet with bread and salad) . there is a snorkeling rental on the beach^ the Internet was good^ at night it's a little noisy from the sea, but I like to fall asleep to this sound,

One of the best places you can choose in Amed. It has just 5 bungalows over the beach, with a beautiful garden in front of them. It feels like almost having you own private beach :) Staff is really nice and can help you arrange anything you may need during your stay.

I didn't stay I just visited the beach, the small cafe with great views at the top of the steps is a great pit stop and incredible value

Nice view, high prices, great French fries, cold bintang. Chicken sandwich with 2 tiny pieces of chicken. It made us laugh, just don’t expect a normal chicken sandwich.

For value for money, this would have to be among the best options in the whole Amed area. There will be cheaper places, there will be better places, but wow - you get a lot here for what you pay. Firstly the location - what the heck? This is literally a private, sandy beach which you share with the local fishermen, this hotel is close to the only accomodation. It's not even listed as a snorkelling spot, but it's excellent - heaps of fish, giant coral formations, and a dramatic drop off. It's not listed as a beach, but it's possibly the best little beach in the district (a bit rocky to enter the water at low tide). You are somewhat away from the most lively parts of the area, that's good or bad depending on what you want, but there are some really good dining spots in walking distance, and you are right next to Japanese shipwreck, it's just a walk away. So, great location overall. We rented a scooter for some independence to get to the other locations in the strip. This worked well. Then rooms. Very nice rooms, very nicely presented. They are lightweight structures, so don't have a solid luxurious feel, but they are really comfortable, and well appointed, and suit the climate. Bar fridge, wi-fi, big provision of fresh water, spacious room, spacious bathroom, air conditioner, comfy furniture on the deck which looks right at sunrise! Bathroom - there was moss in the open air shower, they would do well to pressure clean that sometime! Mattress is firm in the Asian style. Again, for the price, this is fantastic. There is a noise - mainly the ocean all night long, you are genuinely beach front, so that took a night to get used to. Roosters - but that's everywhere, this is a village. Some use of winches to haul up the boats - no problem really, part of the charm. Grounds - beautiful. They have created a wonderful garden around the rooms and are caring for it really well. The restaurant is just a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the views. Food - basic. The included breakfast is a good start to the day, with good choices, happy with that. The evening restaurant, if you're too tired to go out it's fine, but it's not a highlight of this place. So much great food nearby. Staff are lovely and friendly. Our room was made up once during a 5 night stay - more frequently would have been nice.

We had a wonderful time with Kadek. Presto sure he is the best boat captain in Amed. He took us to the best locations giving us the bests tips. I highly recommend it.
