Riding elephants is extremely inhumane! They are tortured into submission for your mediocre entertainment. Please stop supporting this cruel treatment of beautiful, intelligent creatures. They deserve as better life as much as you do.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Coming to this place is NOT ETHICAL. I stayed at a nearby place and I could see how horrible this place is. They have a mini zoo whose facilities are terrible, the animals are locked up, some in very small cages, without hygiene, with hardly any food and just a little dirty water.  I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS PLACE IS STILL IN BUSINESS AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING TO HELP THESE ANIMALS. PLEASE, NO DEMAND, NO BUSINESS. DO NOT CONSUME THIS KIND OF ENTERTAINMENT THAT ONLY PROFITS FROM SUFFERING. BECOME AWARE.

The rafting was good and nice scenery, but a long, steep and, at times, very slippery walk to the river for the rafting. The quad bikes were fun to ride but essentially it was just circling around a rice field with some mud sections for fun. My bike had flat tyres and no tread so I kept getting stuck. Eventually they swapped it over half way through. Shoddy all round. We cancelled a planned trip to Ubud with BaliSmart Tours to take this one on advice, but we really regret it. Not a professional operation. The promised "buffet lunch" became a plate of rice with a tiny bit of chicken (boxed lunch) and you had to buy drinks. It's like something out of the olden days. Archaic establishment. The WORST thing was the "zoo" - it needs to be shut down on the basis of cruelty. The orange utang is all alone and fed on straw. The otters have no water. Beautiful animals in concrete cages. Too cruel for words. Like something out of the 1800s - total neglect of the animals' needs for companionship and stimulation and for decent food. It needs to be condemned. We don't do animal rides, but some people who came back from the elephant "sanctuary" were really distressed about the cruelty and neglect. Save these animals.
