👍👍 Great little Warung with the most friendly owner! The food was great, we ate here several times during our trip to Amed, and all the dishes we tried were delicious! We also recommend trying the coconut black rice pudding and Dadar gulung (coconut filled crepes) People often mention owner, Warung, delicious, good, friendly, Putu, fresh,

We ate there twice. The wait time the first time was 45 minutes as the cook had to come from somewhere else. The food was OK. Maybe 7 out of 10. The second time we ordered chicken sate which was quite good and a seafood soup. The seafood soup cost more than the chicken sate but consisted of a single prawn and three very, very small pieces of fish served in something the size of a coffee mug. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Three weeks in Bali and this was worst value meal by a long, long way.

Oh my god, Putu the owner…buys, preps and cooks all the food we ate. We didn’t know this while waiting, but all the blade sharpening, cutting, chopping & combining sounds in the kitchen 10feet away, that is Putu working to make our delicious meals. This means if she is busy with her helpers, what you give up in time waiting will be amply rewarded w true home-cooked Balinese food…fresh ingredients, vivid but simple delicious flavours. She cooks with care & love, her excess foods she donates away to extend her Kharma gift into the community. We enjoyed her fresh home cooked flavours so much we happily came back for seconds. If you are a disconnected resort escapee, you wont appreciate her humble understated presentation, but I assure you…Putu is the real deal, pure village Balinese gold and a humbling experience in a world filled with entitled global escapees needing flash & glamor. A big recommend! 🙏🤗

Absolutely delicious! I asked for a vegan dish and she surprised me with the best meal I have had yet! Simple, real, quick and yummy 😋

Sweet little Warung run by an incredible mama. I stopped there for lunch and asked for tweaks to displayed menu choices to support stomach flu recovery. I received so much more than a healing pumpkin soup! I have since returned many times, tried other tasty dishes and took advantage of the delivered to my homestay. If you're looking for traditional cooking, always fresh from natural ingredients and purified water, look no further. You might feel Bali's most motherly embrace right there.

I visited Warung Mekar on my first night in Amed in October. Putu was so kind and friendly and her fresh fish with sambal was excellent. I went back almost every other evening. Simple and delicious as it should be. I will definitely return to see Putu when I am next in Amed :-)

I asked for the price of the daily meal she offered, she showed in the menu "like this dish". It was 50000. I had to pay at the end 70000. The guests before me had also some issues with the bill. Otherwise food is really good. Could only be more open with the prices.

Great food and the owner had such a great personality. She made us awesome vegetarian/vegan dishes that were not on the menu which were so tasty. The freshly made sambal was one of the best ive had on this trip. Loved the dragon fruit juice too. And fried banana dessert. :)

We went to Warung Mekar for the dinner. We spent a really good moment. All the family worked on the Warung. The owner is very nice and the place quiet. The food was very tasty and the price good / cheap (as everywhere in Bali). We recommend this lovely place.

Food made by someone who knows how food should taste! Later edit: Returned for another 3 times and every meal was fantastic. Other places, even pricier ones, do not match the flavor and satisfaction at Warung Mekar.

Very friendly owner, Bu Putu is a very warm individual and a good cook as well. When I mentioned that I was a bit seasick, she suggested that I drink warm lemon tea. Turned out that was the most fragrant lemon tea I've ever had! We also ordered the grilled baracuda with lemongrass sambal, and it was very tasty. While waiting she served us a plate of freshly popped corn as well. I definitely will come back here again in the future.

Your visit to Amed is not complete without dining at Warung Mekar. One of the best places to eat the food is cooked with love and care. Wonderful, kind, friendly and passionate chef. Every dish is amazing, fresh and delicious! Our favourites include lumpia (spring roll), gado gado and sate. Go eat, you’ll love it.
