They really spend time and effort to make this museum better. They used the CoVid hatius to their advantage. It looks fresh and new. New paint, new floor, new restaurant. The museum shop has excellent items. Especially the Batik and Ikat is of very good quality. I loved the huge collection of Keris from Bali and Java. The art collection is broad. Although I do not particularly like the Balinese traditional paintings. The east meets west collection was beautiful.

A place to meditate. The museum is partially closed, but you can walk around the library and garden. It's just beautiful for relaxation

Incredible gallery with an amazing collection of traditional as well as modern Indonesian art! The museum itself is a beautiful building as well. There were no people when we went, so we had the whole museum to ourselves, which allowed us to take our time and view the whole collection at our pace. The museum has 8 different pavilions as well as a separate building with temporary exhibitions. One of the pavilions was dedicated to a collection of traditional Indonesian daggers (Kris), which has been recognised by the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. All the exhibits have great in-depth and insightful descriptions, which help in understanding the local culture and traditions through art. Some of them even have QR-codes with audio voice recordings.

Though not cheap to enter, we felt the price was worth it. Beautiful collection of artwork which was paired with thorough and interesting descriptions of each subject. Art styles were varied, but all very enjoyable. Not crowded at all. No A/C, but it wasn't hot thanks to a nice breeze. The ticket includes a small bottle of water and a couple sweet crisps. Bathroom was very clean. Plenty of secure parking on site.

Traditional Balinese art and contemporary works. Several buildings to visit and different artistic styles. Painting, sculpture - not all of them have English labels. Entrance fee is 75K IDR/person and includes a free map of the museum. Free parking in their courtyard.

Amazing collection. 7 buildings to go through with collection of local artists and movement demonstrating the culture and evolution of Bali, as well as some international artists. The one thing that’s quite disappointing is that some staff were rather lazy. It’s supposed to close at 5pm and they started to close at 4.40pm and ask you to leave. Depending your museum pace, You probably need 2 hours for the museum

Great collection of the Balinese art paintings, historical stories through the paintings, and Keris collection. I’m amazed when entering Keris area, so many blades! Indonesian heritage is amazing. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the building needs major improvement, air-con at least? And some pavilions for the paintings also humid, it needs more attention. When I walked inside the building, the security staff was starting to lock all the windows, but it still 4 PM! Why? No air circulation because of him locking all the windows. Sigh. If you are going here, make sure to come before 2 PM, because looking all of the art thoroughly need at least 1,5 hour. There are 7 pavilions: 6 for paintings, 1 for Keris. The admission fee is IDR 75,000. Photography is not allowed if using flash or tripod.

The Neka Art Museum is beautiful in many ways -- its many gallery buildings honor Balinese architecture splendidly; its gardens and outdoor fountains invite guests to pause and reflect; above all its vast collection of artworks, by Balinese and Indonesian as well as expatriate artists invite guests to admire the beauty that is Balinese heritage, culture and nature.

This is an extraordinary museum contained in a complex of beautiful Balinese-style buildings. The founder appears to have had had relationships with a number of artists from different backgrounds, disciplines, and cultures. The paintings and sculptures, many of which are stunning, are nicely curated, and the exhibits are intelligently organized. Highly recommended.

Must visit if interested in 20th century Bali art. Takes about an hour .. Most artists / sculptors represented. Lovely gardens. And - amazingly - only a handful of other visitors. Cost 100,000.

7 separate buildings with traditional and modern paintings. Quite similar to what I saw in ARMA museum in Ubud. For me, the most interesting part was the one with Arie Smit’s works.

Wonderful museum in a nice calm garden, managed by lovely people and giving a great insight into the various arts of bali. Lovely jamu offered at the end. It is worth noting that the museum is big, but you can exit, go eat and rest a bit, and come back on the same day. Thank you for this great experience.

Excellent collection, well displayed with good information on each piece. My initial thought was that the 100k entry fee was pricy, however half way through the museum I had changed my mind. It is well worth the entry fee, and I am very glad to have went. Go have a look, you will not be dissapointed!

This place should have air-conditioning system installed. The december heat was too much for me to view all the exhibits...especially in the keris hall. Overall ....it has a good collection. Thanks to Mr Neka for his love and passion to art. The Arie Smith collection is exceptional.

Very nice museum with 7 different buildings showing traditional Balinese artwork, and explaining the significance behind common cultural symbolisms such as the winged lion, the horse or the dog. Count between 45m-2h depending on your interest. Gift shop is a bit lacking though and you need to pay 150.000 IDR entry which I found a bit steep.

Lots of really cool and interesting art. There is definitely enough here to keep you entertained for 1-1.5 hours. The only negative was the lack of Air Conditioning, or at the very least air movement through multiple of the rooms. It was definitely hot and humid outside, but there were a few rooms that we had to take breaks from because it was so hot inside. Overall, definitely worth the visit, I recommend bringing some water and a hand fan.

It's a pity more people don't go here. The paintings and sculptures are terrific and the descriptions of each helps you gain insight into Balinese culture. The collection ranges from traditional through to when Western influences impacted on Balinese art. An extensive collection. You would pay four times the ticket price in Europe.

Amazing art with professional explanation of the artwork. Will make you learn a thing or two from the good explanation of what you are looking at. I am at least 50% more cultured now. Don't forget to go see the Keris Hall on the first floor. Biggest collection of intricate Keris collection I've ever have the privilege of seeing up close! Owning a Keris is usually reserved for royalty or VIP. To see one up close is priceless. Compared to the ARMA (100,000 fee) that I went to yesterday, Neka (75,000 fee) definitely gives better value hands down!
