Nice and quite royal palace in the middle of Amlapura. The place is clean and well-maintained. They also provided written guidance regarding the buildings inside and their history.

Probably not worth a stop. Paid 30k entrance. Was given a little pamphlet with some info but without a map it was a little confusing. They were setting up for some event and we were the only tourists that have signed in that day, and none the day before.

A very interesting place and extraordinary while a well conserved site of the most powerful kings of Bali. The house Karangasem & Lombok was the most important of Bali. The place gives a lot of interesting information of the history dating from the 12th century up to today, a lot of photos of the last 150 years shows the changing history of Bali as well as the simplicity of the lifestyle compared to European kings. The site is very well maintained. For those who are interested in Balu history a Must. The very friendly and hostile staff will answer you a lot of questions. Thanks for your attention and patience while we visited your site. Suksema

I visited Puri Agung Karangasem as part of a royal heritage tour in East Bali. I was amazed by the architecture and history of this palace, which was built by the king of Karangasem in the 18th century. The palace has a distinctive tower that resembles a pagoda, and a series of rooms where the king hosted his guests. There is also a beautiful garden with a large pool and a view of the mountains. The palace is well-preserved and maintained by the descendants of the royal family, who still live there. They were very welcoming and friendly, and they shared stories and insights about the palace and the culture of Karangasem. They also offered some activities, such as yoga, cooking, and spa, for a reasonable price. The palace is not very crowded, and it offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere. It is a great place to learn about the history and culture of Bali, and to appreciate the art and craftsmanship of the past. I highly recommend Puri Agung Karangasem to anyone who is interested in the royal heritage of Bali.

The Royal family members still live on site, so it's truly a living museum. The entrance is 30,000IDR and you will get an information pamphlet about the place. However, with no map, it can get quite confusing to find the places, and except for the receptionist, none of them can speak English. It might worth a visit if you are on a road trip across the town.

We came visit nearly as an afterthought, but enjoyed the visit; reminded me of the kraton of Yogyakarta in a way, but somehow looking better. You need to pay an entrance fee and there is not that much to see but it is still a royal palace that is still inhabited by the family.

(Translated by Google) One of the historical places that can be visited by us as tourists is Puri Bagus Karangasem. Where from Denpasar it takes about 2 hours to arrive at the location. Access to the location is quite good because it passes through the highway. The environment at Puri Agung Karangasem is very clean and looks very cared for and arranged in such a way. Below the Puri there are houses of residents, where they are residents who are Muslims who during the kingdom era they were followers of the Raja Di Puri Agung Jelantik. In the castle there are several places that have their respective functions. (Please Visit) There is also a room for kings and queens, there is a place for performances, there is a place for death, there is a place for the king to see the condition of society (economy), and there are many others. That's all I can share. Thank you .. Happy visiting ..
