I’ve been to some isolated islands in some countries and I can tell one thing that makes tourists unhappy or upset is the tricky tickets whether it’s harbor tax, unexpected entrance fee, or whatever people call it. I don’t mind to pay IDR 10.000 per person as an entrance fee but I don’t want to line up AGAIN just to pay that. The government should add that to the tickets from the harbor so the tourists don’t need to wait again after two hours in the boat and few hours delay. But this voice will not be heard by the government because all they want is the cash! The island is pretty. However still lack of waste management (as many part of Indonesia). I like the idea of zero motorbikes and cars but there should be legal regulations about how many hours the horses can work. And to be honest, some tourists like that information to be public so there will be some appreciation to the local people. I can’t say that for the next couple of decades this island will still be beautiful but this year 2022, you can enjoy the tranquil life here.

We came for Lombok! But visit the Gili Islands aswell, its easy to visit with a boot. When you are arround, visit this island with a daytour, its more then enough. There are plenty of restaurants, spa's, diving schools and many more! You can also rent a bike or explore this island with a horse. The people are very nice, and can speak very well English! Its very beautifull. Today we visite this island, and it was a rainy day, besides the Rain we enjoyed our daytrip to Gili Trawangan. I think when the weather is better, you can have a nice swim in the beautifull water. You can Come to rest on the many places on this island.

Gili T, as it’s called, so much of hype about this place, cleanliness wise, it’s a zero. Rubbish is every where. The sea is only nice when it is high tide and when it’s low tide, you would see lots of rocks around it. Every 50m, you would come across a bar & restaurant with live shows which is too noisy. A plus point is the snorkelling trip.

Guirilandia, if you are fleeing from the tourist sites this is not your place. The 3 gili have their charm and had to be a paradise in their time, but they have already lost their charm. I loved snorkeling there and the inhabitants of the place, the which continue to live as before, in years it will be another place where bachelor parties and drunks dirty its charm.

Bit of a party island, but not as big of a party as elsewhere, has good selection of bars or nice chill places. You will need water shoes as lots of coral but good sea life to see. If you want bikes walk I land as you can get them for much cheaper then by the harbour as well as everything else

This Island must visit....the only transport is horse ride and bicycle. We stay 3 nights here and we extend 2 more nights, is real worth it. Our activities 1) Snorkeling 700K per person full day with 4 spots. 2) Beach time 3) Bicycle rent arouns the Island 50K to 75K per day. 4) Few resto real good in tern if menu and prices.... 5) Shoping is also cool 6) few big hotel/resort has free movie at beach frint every night. We took 30minutes speed boat ride from sanur to Lembogan stay few nights at Lembogan. Then 2.5hours speed boat ride from Lembogan to Gili T. The journey was rough due to windy season in August.... However still good thing and worth it. When we arrive in Gili T. Take one of the horse driver drop us to hotel cost us IDR100K...

Beautiful island to visit if you going to Indonesia. Some points to keep in mind though, it takes pretty much the whole day to get from Bali to Gili Trawangan. You would start at 6am taking a 90min taxi ride to the harbour, then there's always a huge rush to get on the boat especially during peak season and it's poorly managed so even if you got a ticket early than someone else you might end up missing the boat, so you got push through to make sure you get on. You end up waiting on the harbour 2-3hrs then its a 2hr boat ride, so by the time you reach you will be exhausted. Another thing is the weather can cause cancelations, so always keep one day buffer while going and one day buffer returning. I saw many people who missed their flight from Bali coz they were returning the same day from Gili T and the boat got canceled. The best option I've found is take an inbound flight to Lombok directly or from Bali depending where you are coming from and then 90min taxi to the harbour and 10min boat ride to Gili. There's more number of boats and easier to get there. All in all it's worth the journey, the island is beautiful, people and friendly and it's very safe for tourists. Keep at least 3-4 days for each island else it's not worth it. The east side of the island is the party and night life and the west side is the quite romantic side.

Once and never again! Overpriced, dirty, littered, the smell of horse excrement and sewage everywhere, full of mosquitoes and the sea is a warm puddle. Of course the locals don't care about any of this, they just want to squeeze money out of you. There is nothing left of the former idyll. Extreme disappointment!

Rinjani was an awesome experience! Warm & friendly locals to stunning vistas, great food and wonderful memories! Highly recommend the hiking company we went with Lombok Trekker! Their emphasis on safety and camping gear as well as great guides & porters made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the climb.

If you don't have proper hiking gear or warm clothing, please do not go. I am avid hiker and this was a challenge even with proper gear. Cold nights. Sleeping on the rocky mountain ground in a tent. Early morning. Long days of treking. But... if you have everything... Go for it! The landscape is beautiful but there is a lot of trash everywhere.

Probably the most challenging hiking I have ever done in my life. Due to the Earthquake happened in 2018, the trail to the summit is closed for repair. Currently you can only hike up the the crater rim. I would definitely recommend any natural lover to vist this national part. But make sure you are physically fit.

As you may seen on my picture, Gili Trawangan such a perfect places to spend your vacation, they have a lot of beach club so it does mean, partyyy time! Beautiful place to watch the sunset, clean environment without any motorbike, you can drive bicyle or horse if you want to explore this beautiful island. Boat fee for public boat so cheap around 25K, and the last boat back from Gili at 5PM so dont miss the chance otherwise you need to spend your night here (they do have very cheap backpacker room like 200K) or you need to pay so expensive to pay private boat like i do! I paid for 300K when i wanna go back to Lombok around 7pm and i wont suggest you to do that 😤 Enjoy your healing time here ~

Quicker to the islands from Lombok if you are in Lombok. GILI-TRAWANGAN is definitely the busiest of the 3 islands and can be loud in the main area with nightclubs and music till late hours of the morning however there are quieter parts of the island if you walk 20 minutes plus rent a bike. Try staying at a few different places on the island.

Amazing place, blue and hot sea with too many kinds of fishes, turtles and another kind of sea animals. You can see it perfectly using a snorkel. A lot of parties at night. Amazing!

Nice small island, you can only use cycles and horse carts for traveling. There is good part of the island near the harbour were you will find most people and there is a shady were you will not feel safe. There is a roadside market though on the other side of the island.

If you have time and money, visit this island at least once in a lifetime! lately, Gili Trawangan is very crowded and touristic but the beauty of this island isn't vanished. Just take a few hours to walk around the island, it's just a small island. If you don't like walking, stroll around the island using bicycles. You will see a quiet place, without any pollution and public transportation, with beautiful blue beaches along the road. Breathtakingly beautiful!

From Senggigi beach, it took us about an hour to reach Sira beach. The coastal trip casted a spell on us as the beaches are so breathtaking!!! We took a boat and did our snorkelling at the other 2 islands first before heading to Trawangan for a small bite and a bit sightseeing. Maybe because I am older, I liked the smaller and more quiet islands.

It's very nice island, without and car or engine transport within the island. The unique way to travel around the island is by bicycle, foot or pony wagon. Many restaurants, dive centres, different kind of accommodation are available. I traveled from Lombok by speed boat, only took me 20-30 mins, can also travel from Bali by boat but definitely longer traveling time. The beach is crystal blue in some part of the island as well white sand beach. You can rent a bicycle to cycle the whole island only take around 1 afternoon. Totally worth it! But watch out, there are definitely bumpy parts ahead. I can stay here for weeks if I have all the time in the world.

Absolutely beautiful, cheap to stay and the meals on the beach are amazing. The people on gillie t are fun and friendly, the whole island has a safe feel and a reggae vide.... A lot of the bars have a Bob Marley cover band playing and it never gets old, it creates such a nice vibe. As always, view of this mountain are so beautiful, this is my 4th time riding my mountain bike with some friends. It took us about 5 or 6 km away going uphill, and the fun begin when we started downhill in the other side of the track, and it's about 10 km away. Passing through 3 forest and wide savana. Awesome!

The hike to the rim is worth the effort, not necessarily hard, but just long since you have to climb 2000 meters up from the starting point in Senaru. Plan 6 hours for going up and 4 hours for going down and take lots of water if you want to do it by yourself. Alternatively you can book a tour with an overnight stay at the summit. Bring warm cloth then since it is gonna be cold during night. Prices force there 1n2d tour should be somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5 million including guides, food, and accommodation in a tent at the summit.

Rinjani Park is nature in its best. Be ready for some epic effort as the climb to the top is not for the faint hearted! We did the 4 days 3 nights option with trekking down the to the lake and up to the caldera on the other side after scaling the Rinjani peak. Would have been more enjoyable to do an express trek to the top and back which is doable in 2 days and 1 night! Then chill in Lombok or the Gillis:)

The Mount Rinjani trek is 100% worth the time and effort to complete. The ascent and descent are undoubtedly difficult, don't go with the intention of finding it easy because you'll be fooling yourself. I'd say taking hiking poles are essential to getting to the top personally, the weather can get treacherous up there. If I'd recommend just 1 tip it would be to bandage tape your little toe and big toe up to help the rubbing against the inside of your shoe. This should help alleviate the pain and blisters. The sense of achievement from completing this epic hike is out of this world.. I was the only one out of my group of 10 to complete it, because of the strong winds.. mind over matter and you'll get there. Good luck!!

For Indonesian, the price is quite higher than in Lombok mainland, prepare more in your debit/credit card. Ah, they has Mandiri and CIMB Niaga, no worried if you don’t being any cash.

It’s a dream island. Love this place so much. It’s a fairly small island, life is very slow here and I enjoyed every second of it. Sunrise here is amazing, the sunset as well. Love this party island ♥️♥️♥️ Gili Trawangan is a paradise island perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, and watching spectacular sunsets. The beach is stunning for snorkeling or diving for the seashore. Really enjoyed beautiful sunset at public beach! The nice part are cycling around the island, sunset, sunrise and dining. We were enjoying Gili Trawangan alot for 3 days and we sad to leave. This island was really a good getaway from the chaos of Kuta in Bali.

The absolute best place. So beautiful and a must to visit. The island is a vibe, the nightlife is great, the people are amazing

Bounty island with many hotels, restaurants, pass and very nice snorkelling and everything at very reasonable prices Visit in November and low season with plenty of room and very cheap hotel, food massage, boat trip et cetera The last star is due to the lack of cleaning at the island surroundings Please do something about it as it is the only thing that’s not nice

It’s Freedom Island as people from Bali described it. Living young, wild and free. The residents could at least try to keep the island clean though, that was a let down.
