I prefer to give 5* reviews but i visited this gym today and i was really shocked. I’ve been to many gym’s in Bali (not the fancy ones) and i’ve never seen a gym this dirty. The place also stinks and is full of dirt on the floor. What is sad is that the staff is rude and they dont make you wanna come again. The 40k entrance is not worth it. Beware of the toilet there and if you need to use it while workout it would be better for you to go back home to do that.

Yes, it's an old gym and yes, it has no A/C but it's the best gym in Ubud if you're actually there to work out. The regulars who go to this gym and the type of people it attracts are those that are there to work out - hard, to sweat and to keep going with their day. For me personally, it doesn't matter how clean or nice a gym is, it's the vibe of the place that counts. The equipment is perfectly fine and well verse, you can do just about anything. Sweating is good for detoxing, drink more water if no A/C bothers you. I actually love that there's no A/C reminds me of a hot summer day when I was on the soccer pitch. When it comes to being dirty, you're in Bali, just driving on the bike you get dirty. Barely anyone is wasting time on machines scrolling their phones or videotaping their workouts with tripods in the way. Just giving some perspective. Most reviews here don't do this place justice. its affordable and it's local. support local. xx

IDR 50,000 for one session. Loads of equipment. Does get warm, probably the best option in Ubud.

I’ve been going here for 2.5 years and am happy with the value/price ratio. The equipment is generally in good condition and there are lots of machines. There are also tons of free weights and I always have enough space to do my routine. The treadmill area is fan-cooled and also includes a few bikes. Great place!

30.000 IDR for a day pass (edit: 40.000 IRD starting in March 2020) The gym is open until 9pm every day! (It still says 8pm here on google maps) ______________________________________________________ Hands down the perfect gym if you want to build muscle. Many super cool new and also some old but well maintained machines. Staff and other members are friendly. Not quite sure what happened to other people who left reviews but we could bring our water bottles in no problem. (Obviously it would be unacceptable if that was forbidden and no free water was provided!!!) Optimum Nutrition chocolate protein shake mixed with one banana for 20.000 IRD if you’re trying to get a post workout shake in. Fair price! We will for sure be back for a couple workouts during our time in Ubud!

Decent gym here in Ubud, love the open air format so you can sweat. Gyms around the world are my community! I enjoy traveling and have been in 100s gyms around the world. Thats alot of gyms!! Thank you. Will be back once more before heading Uluwatu for some ocean time . Good day rates, nice open space and all the necessary stuff. Feels family run which I appreciate.

One of the best gyms I’ve come across in SE Asia. Great value for money with a 30,000 IDR drop-in. Facility is spacious with a solid blend of modern and old equipment. There is no A/C so be prepared to sweat. If you’re dying, you can ask the front desk to turn on the fans. Highly recommend the banana protein shake post workout (20,000 IDR). Trained here for a full week and had an amazing experience!

Good price for the daily rate. 40,000 They have all the equipments, staff are nice, no AC, only fans but good enough. Mashines aren't brand new but in good condition. Washroom isn't the most clean. Overall with the price I give 5 stars.

I paid 50k for a day rate (not allowed to do multiple sessions) so I guess they recently upped the price, but still very cheap compared to other places I’ve been. I am kind of a powerlifter/body builder combo, and this was the PERFECT gym for a total workout, tons of equipment. I was particularly impressed with how much equipment they had for training legs, which you don’t see too often. Free locker with key provided. No AC so bring a towel (towels cost$ and no free water). Open air and fans help a lot so it’s not too bad but I was drenched by the end.

Very old gym that isn’t cleaned regularly if at all. You’ve got all the machinery that you’ll need, however some of it is very old and some of it has terrible range of motion (lying leg curl). No AC and there are fans installed that are turned on sparingly. The bathrooms are absolutely horrifying. Most of the times there’s no toilet tissue there. Other than that, it’s cheap. Also, the gym has very bad workout etiquette where people leave weights and equipment in a messy state. On the positive note - the gym has great tunes!

Gym itself is pretty good has everything you need. Staff are friendly to locals and tourists alike. Make sure to use facilities before you go there as they are very poorly kept (many different types of insects etc).

This is one of the better gyms I've visited on my trips to Ubud. It has 2 squat racks, dedicated deadlift platform, leg press, hack squat and a whole bunch of other machines/free weights. I enjoyed the no nonsense vibe and the pleasant lack of influencers compared to other, trendier gyms in Ubud. Only downside is it gets really hot as there's no aircon. If you're not used to the temperature it's going to be a tough workout so make sure you bring plenty of water. It was never too busy between 8-10am, but I imagine it fills up later on the day. Entry is 40k which is a fair price for the facility.

Definitely a bit gritty as mentioned by the other reviews 😝, but there is the perfect ratio of people to equipment and no getting angry at people for hogging equipment for too long! 1 month is 540,000 (at the time of this review)! We are sweaty fans 😍.

I don’t know about the gym, but I have an experience using the parking lot. So, when you turn right from the road to park near the flower shop (usually all parking is public in Bali), you don’t see any sign of it being private and available only to the gym users. I had a misfortune of leaving my car there for 5 minutes. While I was shopping for flowers, the stuff there was yelling aggressively insisting on me removing my car immediately from the parking lot. They had plenty of space though, and I needed just 5 minutes, and I was with a small child. When I came back, the gym stuff ran out and yelled at me, calling me blind, a bad person and wishing me to get crushed on the road. Again, I was with a child and left my car precisely for 5 minutes. This is the worst attitude I came across in Bali, and that is very disappointing. I think whatever the situation is, whether it’s a client or not, we should be friendly to each other. Or at least make your ‘private parking’ sign visible for the drivers making a right turn.

(Translated by Google) A well-equipped gym for Asian standards. Unfortunately, the barbells do not weigh 20kg and offer little grip. To complete at least one training session is enough. But you also have to say that I am used to Eleiko equipment and therefore have very high standards. The price was 30,000 rupees for an entry. Protein shakes are also available. 15,000 rupees for one and 20,000 with fruits.

To owner: dude, not having AC in place as yours is just disrespectful towards your visitors. I even had to ask the administrator to turn on the ventilators, which he did but just a few of them. Place has great vibe and machinery is sufficient, but the terrible heat is just turning a workout into a disaster. I was about to fade out a few times… it’s not safe! What if a person with heart insufficiency comes by and fades out? What’s the problem really? Not willing to spend a few more bucks on electricity bill? Congratulations, you just lost as least 3 customers for many months and you are loosing even more day to day because without AC your nice gym is more like a hotpot.

For Ubud, this is there best balance between cost and quality. They have enough equipment as long as you don't expect brand new or state of the art stuff, and are willing to compromise or get creative for your workouts. It is relatively clean, but I would recommend taking a shower right after. There is usually obnoxious music blasting so bring your own headphones and music unless you like electronic dance music. Very affordable, easy to reach place with parking, and there's a fruit and juice place right outside. I don't know for sure but I don't think they have showers in house.

Awesome gym. I went here at least half a dozen times during my stay in Ubud. 30k for a 1 day pass. I like to use barbells and dumbbells for my workouts and there was never a shortage of those here. There's a squat rack (unfortunately not a power rack with safety bars or straps), bench press stations, a supported t-bar row machine, plenty of barbells and plates, several loose barbells which can be used for deadlifts or barbell rows, and loads of other machines. Adequate space for warmups and freeweight exercises. There is no AC here but I didn't find it too bad. It's a large space and the doors are kept open so there some air circulation. The biggest improvement I believe that can be made is having a power rack that can be used for squats and bench press.

Big Gym and 50Rp for day pass. Very hot inside, no air conditioning, only a few fans the need many more fans as the heat is unbearable inside, reached temperatures similar at the out side, sweating profusely and filling dizzy from the heat and lack of ventilation. Is a good local gym if you don't mine the low standards , cleaning and heat.

Writing review from gym. Space was clean, air felt clean, no a/c but feels cool and I go to the gym to sweat so doesn’t bother me. Front desk lady was friendly. 30/k drop in rate. WiFi. Protein Shakes are 15k, has egg whites for 5k. I do functional fitness, all needs met for squats, bench, press, deadlift, etc. Big variety of machines to cover everything else, worn but usable. Three treadmills work with cardio bikes etc. It’s not pretty or instagram-able but iron is iron and I few like I can get a great lift here for a fraction of the cost of other gyms in the area.

Trained in worse gyms for more money, trained in better gyms for less money. Overall, this is a good value gym for the 30k day pass and seems the best option in Ubud. No fans working and no a/c. Decent selection of equipment. Best lat pull down I’ve ever used. Too much loud grunting from the big boys. Music was a nice change from the usual EDM remixes we’ve heard throughout Asia and Indonesia! Big protein+banana shakes available at the desk for 20k which is a steal - get on it.

We came here for a quick workout and used the fitness equipment and the treadmill. Entrance fee is 40k and they do not provide free towels. So better bring your own towel. You get what you pay for. Don’t expect a western gym. But for a „normal“ workout it is good enough.

Definitely gets the job done. I went 3 times and always got a good, very sweaty workout in. There’s no AC so expect to get super sweaty! They also don’t provide towels or water even if you have your own bottle (they have a filtered machine) which I find a little ridiculous. Not very eco friendly 🤷‍♀️ There are tons of machines & free weights & cardio machines.

Massa’s is the realest thing about Ubud. All the equipment you could need whatever your programme. Hip thrust machine, back extension bench , hack squat machine and excellent dead lift space with Olympic plates. Yes it’s an old school gym, yes you are going to sweat but that’s when the magic happens ✨

  • 3/5 Nastia D. 1 year ago on Google
The gym is the cheapest in town and extremely well-equipped. The number of machines is in fact larger than in most fancy gyms in Bali. At the same time the equipment is old, the gym has no AC and is not appealing visually. You can have your workout completed there, but you will be very sweaty.

Great gym!! Loads of equipment (more than most fitness first gyms in London), some of which is very new and only 30k for a day pass. Even at peak times it isn’t crazy busy and so you can get a great workout in stress free. No AC but I went in the early evening and so it was cool enough. Well worth the visit.

I like this place. There’s enough old equipment that, with a bit of creativity, you can get an ok workout done. It’s also good value for money but I have to down vote it for the utter lack of ventilation. I was going there every day for a week and ended up with heat rash. It wasn’t even that hot out at the time. It’s like they’re making no effort at all to sort this out. You don’t need to spend money on air con but yeah you do need to be smarter with fans and actually have air flowing through the property. Gyms all over Asia do this fine

Got told by a friend it was 20k pp for day use, I was 40k pp when we arrived but its fine as we both wanted to get to a gym as we've been travelling for 3 plus months....the gym itself was fine, all equipment we both used was in good working conditions so that's a bonus! Only downsides were the place could do with a lick of paint and a good clean, looks a bit untidy but nothing major.
