A very important museum with fabulous exhibits ranging from Neolithic to Umayyad periods. It’s an old museum well in need of investment and renovation but it’s art artefacts are top. Although it is a relatively small building, the museum is rich of so many artifacts from all historical epochs of human settlement in the area. They have artefacts, skeletons, pottery , statues organized in sections such as bronze age, iron age, stone age and so on. No entry fee needed. If you have entered Amman citadel, it's in the same campus. If you get tired watching, you have seats to sit down and relax. Nicely presented history of the Jordan. The exhibits are great. A lot of information in a small space.

The visit to the museum is included with the same ticket for Amman citadel, so no entry fees. Inside the museum you will find some skeletons and tombs, some primitive jewelry. It’s will maintained in good shape. I like the way they organized it in sections such as Stone Age , iron ages and Bronze Age , please don’t try to touch anything as the place is equipped with alarms and sensors.

A very important museum with fabulous exhibits ranging from Neolithic to Umayyad periods. It’s an old museum well in need of investment and renovation but it’s art artefacts are top. They have here several of the Ain Ghazal statues which are considered the oldest figures ever made. They also have a figure - from Jericho that is considered the oldest worshiped figure in the world. The descriptions are also excellent in this museum. But it does need a renovation, dark black with better lighting. Hopefully this will come in tne not too distant future

Although it is a relatively small building, the museum is rich of so many artifacts from all historical epochs of human settlement in the area. It is amazing how, in only one place, you can track the evolution of human skills marked by the invention and manipulation of tools. First, the "Stones," followed by the pottery jars and dishes, then tools from the Bronze age, followed by the iron tools. The Roman time is marked by the glass. From the Islamic period, you will find nice pieces of colird porselin.

If you have entered Amman citadel, it's in the same campus. If you get tired watching, you have seats to sit down and relax. Some areas, they have sensors which triggers alarm which people cross the line and go near artefacts. The beautiful Roman statues are really interesting.

A beautiful museum with many treasures to offer including neolithic sculptures! If you can, plan for multiple visits. Note: the dead sea scrolls are not available here anymore, moved to the Jordan Museum in downtown Amman.

This is a small but interesting museum in the middle of the Amman Citadel, located near the Pillars of Hercules. It used to be famous for housing the Dead Sea Scrolls, but they have been moved to the new Jordan Museum in the town. But still, this museum has a lot of interesting things about Jordan & surrounding areas's ancient history and even some pre-history. Outside the museum, right in front, is also the famous Hand of Hercules.

The museum houses artefacts from different archaeological sites of the country, from the Paleolithic to the Islamic Era. The collection is arranged in chronological order and includes pottery, glass, flint and metal tools, inscriptions and statuaries, jewellery and coin collections. The highlights to see are: Statues from Ain Ghazal, among the earliest known large-scale human figures, dated to approximately 8700 - 8500 years ago; Neolithic plastered skulls from Jericho; huge anthropomorphic sarcophagus from the Iron Age found in Amman; the Nabataean fish-goddess from the temple of Khirbet et-Tannur, and the Tyche of Amman, the white marble bust of the protector of Roman Philadelphia.

(Translated by Google) It is the museum located within the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Amman. You will not need a ticket because it is included in what you had when you first entered the archaeological site. It has stairs so people with limited mobility will find it particularly difficult. It has many exhibits from different periods, but I would say that the site needs better maintenance. Good experience, but I think it could get better.

Free museum, I would say, the exhibition is a better word for describing what it is. Objects, statues are from the iron and bronze age, not well described, put in the old way of style of presenting the exhibits. Good to go inside and look around, 15 minutes for this is more than enough.

(Translated by Google) When you enter, you will need to enter your full name, nationality and how many visitors you are. There is no entrance as you have the jordan pass upon entering the archaeological site. It is impossible for a person with a wheelchair to enter. Many of the exhibits have elements of the Hellenistic period. Maybe some renovation, better lighting maybe.

The most important museum in Jordan, this a well designed museum that shows the history of Jordan in chronological order, with very rich display of rare and beautiful objects from Jordan and Palestine. You truly gets very good understanding of how important the location of Jordan was through the ages. Unfortunately, it's not equipped with any digital tools but still very important and rich!

Gorgeous museum which holds items dating back to apporoximately 500,000 years ago. It feels like a journey through the past, the walls have posters explaining the history of the different time periods and the corresponding artifacts. It is well-organized and the staff are very kind and welcoming. I recommend coming here especially if you love history.

In a busy city on an island of calm the Jordan Museum is fantastic. We purposely went to see the Dead Sea scrolls and after being to there and experiencing the surrounding land the find was all the more incredible . The exhibits and exhibitions are well curated and have lots of hands on information to keep children interested. A great visit and lovely helpful staff.

An amazing and nostalgic experience. To visit the area so famously described in the Bible and imagined what it was like while Jesus walked on earth and see the actual site where he was baptized. The journey to the site is by bus after you have paid your entrace fee, prepare to walk so dress comfortable and wear appropriate shoes. A hat also and drinking water.

(Translated by Google) The museum is small compared to the amount of exhibits (some very interesting and extremely precious) but all in all well defined. Display cases and display cases could show better indications; there is no real recommended circuit or tour, the management could improve the experience by hiring guides or maybe students for explanations. Overall a small, interesting but conceptually outdated museum. Still worth visiting.

There are really wonderful artifacts here. Easy to miss given the scope of the Citadel (in which it’s located) and in comparison to the robust Jordan Museum, there are some unique items here to view. The museum curates a wide historic range which only reinforces what you see outside the museum: a continuity of history on this hill in Jordan.
