The man who served our food wasn’t kind, and we didn’t feel welcomed. The food was tasteless, and the portions were small for the price. I had tried Thai food outside of Jordan before and was excited to find a place in Amman, but I left feeling disappointed.

One of the few Thai cuisine restaurants in Amman. It's a small restaurant located by (sometimes) busy street in the neighbourhood of Weibdeh. Has indoors and outdoors seating, which is nice on a not so hot nor so cold day or evenings. Not ideal for big groups of more than 4 people due to the seating/space. I had the mixed vegetables green curry in "Thai medium spicy" with jasmine rice. I thought the curry tasted good, and it's nice there is the "local spicy level" and "Thai spicy level". The rice was quite "dry" in the sense of consistency and a bit of air impacted it and wasn't fresh. The menu labels dishes with nuts, vegetarian (v), and spicy. Spice levels range from mild, medium spicy, and spicy. Additionally, there is "mild Thai", "medium Thai spicy", and "Thai spicy", which the staff normally asks depending on the dish one orders. Good customer service.

I loved this place. It was my first time trying Thai food, I didn’t find myself quite fond of it, and the portions were a bit smaller than I expected. yet I’m rating 5 stars for how nice and polite the owner was, he explained the ingredients for me and showed me exactly what was the taste I didn’t like and offered to do it next time without it, I truly loved how caring and understanding he was. I’d definitely go there again and try different dishes.

Delicious Thai food, Ibrahim was super welcoming and friendly! We were greeted with a refreshing Thai Lemongrass drink followed by a glass noodle salad that had an explosion of flavors from the first bite. Papaya Thai Kitchen offers gluten free options as well as so many healthy dishes. A MUST TRY when in Weibdeh area.

Papaya was a pleasant surprise. The quality is pretty good and the prices are much more affordable than other Thai places in Amman (basically, Thai Room in Abdoun, I don't know any other local Thai places). Papaya offers a nice varied menu, the portions are good and the service is friendly and fast. We had chicken pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, and papaya salad. The papaya salad was actually spicy, which is rare in Amman. With authentic Thai food (in Thailand) you gotta ask for "not too spicy" if you want a fully spicy dish, and "not spicy at all" if you want a low spice dish. Papaya was kinda like this, we ordered the papaya salad "medium spicy" and it arrived quite spicy, spicier than Ammani standards. Whether it was on purpose or accidental, it's good to know that they can deliver spice if that's your thing. Now on to the cons: the shrimp rice had only 2 shrimps. I was expecting more, at least 4. 2 shrimps is just too skimpy. The pad Thai had decent amount of chicken I think. But not as intensely flavorful as the pad Thai you get in Thai Room (but again, the much more affordable prices make up for it). Overall Papaya is a very good option for Thai food and I'm looking forward to my next visit to try some other dishes.

It couldn’t be better, it was perfect! They had very good service and they always check up on you and make you feel at home. Also, the food was delicious, the presentation was superb and portions were perfect. This is my favourite restaurant, I would recommend to go check it out. Trust me you won’t regret it. 👍😀👍

We were looking for a place to have a lunch and came across this restaurant, the owner was very warm and welcoming and had so much passion for Thai 🍲 food that we decided to eat in Papaya The food was beyond delicious, everything was cooked a la minute, fresh ingredients,perfect balance of flavors and spices and all of it was completed by the hospitality and care from the people who work there. It was love from the first bite! ❤ ❤ ❤ Can't wait to come back to Papaya

Came here for lunch and it was amazing. Such a humble unassuming place at first glance but the owner is hugely knowledgeable and clearly loves his food. It is a family run business and everything we ate tasted authentic. 10/10 would eat here again once we're back.

I keep going back… again and again. I have developed an addiction to the Pad Thai 🤤🤤 I usually call in for them to prepare my order before I arrive! The second I walk in I just wanna get my hands on something! Everything was just perfect! We orderd beef, chicken, shrimp, soup, rice, noodles and desert and every platter was a unique experience. The chef is very friendly and makes you feel at home, the kids wanted Lipton peach ice tea which they didn't have but they managed to get it from a close store. Highly recommend the place and wish them all the best!

Family run restaurant with excellent food, excellent service and lovely staff, I came with family who are vegetarian/vegan and they tailored all our food to ensure we can eat what they had on the menu. Highly recommend this place.

This place is a real gem of thai kitchen. It is a small place which you would not discover if you didn't search for excellently reviewed thai kitchen on Google. The cook was really nice and pleasant , he showed us the ingredients he uses, which are all fresh, of high quality and hard to find. He also told us about Jordanian culture. This is one of the best places I've ever eaten!

Food was really good, service was amazing. Small hidden gem, give it a try, honestly if you need something extra on the side, just ask. Will be back to try other things on the menu.

I am Thai and I love this place! This is the best Thai food you can get in Amman. The food was tasty and in generous portion. I ate here several times and the chef always made sure I had the best experience. The restaurant can get busy and service might be slow at times, but when the food was on the table, I had no complaint. I wish the best for the chef and his business. I would love to go here again whenever I visit Jordan.

My husband and I dined here for the first time and everything exceeded expectations. Food was super fresh and flavourful, portion sizes were generous and the prices were very reasonable. Chief Ibrahim who looked after us went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with everything - we are so happy to find this gem in Amman and look forward to many more meals here

Honestly, the best Thai food I’ve eaten outside of Thailand. The chef is Jordanian but he really knows Thai cuisine. His Som Tam in particular was perfectly balanced and properly made with pestle and mortar. Utterly delicious. We also tried the Pad Thai which was really good. I had long chats with him about getting really Thai ingredients like galangal and holy basil. He’s totally on it! Amazing.

You don’t have to be Thai to master Thai cuisine. Abraham at Papaya Thai has achieved this. He has learned from the best - he worked with a Thai chef at Four Seasons and Banyan Tree resort. He took that knowledge and skill and expanded the depth of the cuisine focussing on using fresh ingredients, with a touch of personal expression. I never thought that I would find such delicious Thai food in Jordan - or outside of Asia (!) - I’m South East Asian. Each dish is prepared for the individual ; he cooks each dish one at a time - (that’s the true Asian way). I wish we found this gem at the start of our trip and not on our last day.

Best Thai food in the Country. Been in amman for more than 2 years, and this is my first time trying this restaurant, and I wish I knew this restaurant sooner. The small space provide better Asian “Street food” kinda vibes, where you can see they’re preparing your food. As a fried rice fan, their Shrimp Fried Rice reminds me of Home, Indonesia. ❤️❤️

I ate here the other day because I wanted some variety, not just shawerma. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I had the yellow curry and there was a good variety of different vegetables. I especially loved the mushrooms. Great restaurant and great experience!

As a cross contamination sensitive celiac food can be difficult, but the owner could make almost the whole menu gluten free for me. Had the Curry. No reaction afterwards. Would definitely go back!

They are not Thai, but they cook perfectly like Thai food. We had beef basil and Tom Yum Shrimp. Everything is perfect, even fish sauce with is perfectly like Thai made. Owner and chefs are very friendly. We are from Thailand and we love this place 👍🏻

This Restaurant was really amazing. We were warmly welcomed by the owner ,he is so decent and the service was perfect . the food was very good and the chief is so creative. The portions were a good size and reasonably priced. Definitely I'd recommend to others and would visit again.
