I
recently
had
the
unfortunate
experience
of
bringing
my
mother
(W.F.A.)
to
Al
Sharif
eye
hospital
for
a
cataract
surgery,
expecting
exceptional
care
and
service
based
on
its
reputation.
However,
the
entire
ordeal
left
us
deeply
disappointed
and
concerned,
as
the
hospital
severely
lacked
care,
privacy,
and
effective
communication,
all
while
being
unreasonably
expensive.
Our
disappointment
began
with
the
utter
disregard
for
punctuality
at
Al
Sharif
eye
hospital.
We
arrived
on
time
for
our
appointment,
only
to
be
made
to
wait
for
an
excruciating
90
minutes
beyond
the
agreed-upon
time.
To
make
matters
worse,
not
a
single
staff
member
offered
an
apology
or
even
a
basic
gesture
like
a
bottle
of
water
(not
mentioning
how
rude
the
receptionist
was).
This
lack
of
consideration
for
patients'
time
and
well-being
is
simply
inexcusable,
especially
in
a
high-end
facility
that
charges
exorbitant
fees.
The
absence
of
compassionate
care
was
striking
throughout
our
entire
visit
(or
a
total
of
4
visits
and
follow
ups).
The
staff
appeared
detached
and
disinterested,
failing
to
provide
the
support
and
reassurance
that
patients
and
their
families
require
during
such
an
anxiety-inducing
process.
Even
the
most
basic
privacy
measures
were
overlooked,
as
eye
drops
were
administered
in
the
crowded
waiting
area
(during
our
first
visit),
compromising
the
privacy
and
dignity
of
patients.
Such
blatant
disregard
for
privacy
is
unacceptable,
particularly
in
a
facility
that
claims
to
prioritize
patient
comfort
and
well-being.
Moreover,
we
were
deeply
disappointed
by
the
lack
of
open
communication
from
the
eye
surgeon
regarding
the
extended
duration
of
the
surgery
and
the
prolonged
recovery
period.
Transparent
communication
is
a
fundamental
aspect
of
patient
care,
and
the
lack
thereof
undermines
trust
and
confidence
in
the
medical
professionals.
A
plus
point
for
the
surgeon
is
that
the
final
results
were
satisfactory
(which
at
the
end,
the
only
thing
that
really
matters).
Adding
insult
to
injury,
the
exorbitant
costs
of
the
services
provided
were
entirely
unjustified
given
the
glaring
deficiencies
in
care,
privacy,
and
communication.
Patients
and
their
families
should
not
be
subjected
to
such
disappointing
experiences,
especially
when
paying
a
premium
for
supposedly
top-tier
medical
services.
As
concerned
individuals,
we
strongly
urge
Al
Sharif
eye
hospital
to
address
these
critical
issues.
The
hospital
must
prioritize
punctuality,
ensuring
that
patients'
time
is
respected
and
acknowledged.
Compassionate
care
should
be
at
the
core
of
their
approach,
with
a
focus
on
providing
privacy
during
all
aspects
of
treatment.
Additionally,
transparent
communication
between
medical
professionals
and
patients
is
crucial
for
fostering
trust
and
understanding.
Our
hope
was
shattered
by
the
lack
of
care
and
unreasonably
high
costs
at
Al
Sharif
eye
hospital.
Regrettably,
based
on
our
experience,
we
cannot
recommend
this
hospital.
However,
we
sincerely
hope
that
our
feedback,
encompassing
the
issues
of
care,
privacy,
communication,
and
unjustified
expenses,
will
be
taken
seriously.
It
is
essential
for
Al
Sharif
eye
hospital
to
reflect
upon
these
deficiencies
and
take
necessary
measures
to
improve
the
quality
of
care,
ensuring
that
future
patients
receive
the
respectful,
compassionate,
and
transparent
treatment
they
deserve.
Every
patient
deserves
an
experience
that
upholds
their
dignity,
prioritizes
their
well-being,
and
justifies
the
expenses
incurred.
We
genuinely
hope
that
our
feedback
contributes
to
positive
changes,
resulting
in
a
transformation
of
the
hospital's
approach
and
improved
experiences
for
all
patients
in
the
future.
