It is greatly arranged museum, but unfortunately it should probably be called Greek cinema museum. I guess it will be interesting for people already familiar with Greek movies , but for foreigners with no specific background in cinema it won' bring any feeling or thoughts.

(Translated by Google) Amazing, great. Incredible to have such oases in our city. Everyone should visit them to nourish their knowledge.

The Thessaloniki cinema museum is located at the port of the city in the A pier. In the pictures you can see the hourly schedule of the museum and in front of it.

A very good effort and probably the only museum of its kind at Greece. Although needs a better museology and much better narrative. Other than that ..... enjoy.

As a non-Greek, I missed the historical background and more focused content. I'd rather see one longer piece than a few seconds of tens of films (especially in the early cinema). Also, the interactive boards were confusing - the pictures said nothing and I the way it worked didn't exactly make me want to stand there and check everything. Price is ok though. Good for checking when around. And good luck for the museum. I hope it grows.

The place has a coffee shop with a great view to the harbour. The exhibitions that take place are of top quality. Bring cash as they don't accept debit cards!

History of Greek cinema. It would be nice to know how long (minutes) the movie clips would last in total.

Lovely little set up chronicling the history of Greek cinema. Surprisingly, there’s a lot to do given the small space the collection is housed in, while it’s location next to the photography gallery and contemporary art space (not to mention the Kitchen bar) make it a good destination for a day out.

One of the best afternoons. All greek cinema in one building. You walk through the rooms starting from 7 and ending in 1, counting down like the beginning of a classic film. If you don't care about greek films and cinema it's going to be a quick visit. There are videos in every room for every decade, along with a little bit of history of Greece and how it affected the world of cinema. There are posters, clothes from movies (dress if Vougioklaki, hat of Merkouri and many more), clips of films, music, and touch screens that let you learn more about your favorite actors. There's also old equipment that was used to make old films. This great experience costs only 2euros. Enjoy

The museum is quite interesting, but the library and archive is where this place shines. Very well documented film magazines, books and programs from all types of countries and eras. Staff are very very nice!

Good free exhibition of old movie posters. Swing by for a couple of minutes on a hot day to cool down and enjoy the art.

Small but very interesting museum. You can find some old filming equipment and a history lesson inside. You can take pictures inside but only for personal use.

(Translated by Google) Located in the port of Thessaloniki, the Cinema Museum offers a brief overview of the history of Greek cinema from its origins to the present day. The exhibition is not particularly large, but it does include some valuable items, such as a Golden Lion from the Venice Film Festival donated to the museum, or a collection of various cameras and cinematographic equipment. Visitors can view a few assorted clips from films from different decades, as well as some selected memorabilia. A greater effort is needed in explaining the context since, instead of informative panels -although there are some-, what the visitor finds are a few sheets of paper to read at all comfortable. The entrance to the museum costs € 2.
