Absolutely 100% must go place if you love beer and are looking for large variety, bar tenders are experienced beer connoisseurs, good ambience, old pub vibe, no music, just people chatting to each other, old style pub.

Very special place with a really good russian imperial stout on tap. I especially enjoyed the space and no music at that night. A place to enjoy good beer and relax and talk about the all day sightseeing.

Had great happy drink 1 week ago when just landed at Amsterdam with jetlag. Local friend brought me to the bar and informed their beer menu is thick like a dictionary, that's so true ~ they offer over 200 brand beer which is not easy to choose. It's nice bar and can enjoy happy time with friends, not too noisy but relax.

Nice beer and decor but no music. The place is so quiet and gets boring. There is not much options in snacks as well. But good variety of beers. I can recommend Lupulus beer. It’s strong and fruity.

Can't believe I've never reviewed In De Wildeman before now. Been coming here since 1999 and only the beer on tap and the people pouring it have changed since (well that, and no smoking indoors). A highly curated, rotating beer tap list that features a few selections from their "brewery of the month", this month it was Galway Bay brewing from Ireland. Definitely not anything I'd have come across otherwise, so It's things like this that set Wildeman apart from other beer bars in town. One thing you may, or may not notice, but that says a lot to beer lovers is - no TV and no music. It's just you, the beer and the people around you to focus on. That's the way it should be. Staffed by some of the most friendly, knowledgeable beer folks you will find anywhere. Great, voluminous bottle list as well. Centrally located just north of Dam in an east-west pedestrian street between Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and Damrak.

Welcoming, vintage-looking atmosphere, great bottled beer selection plus good tap list and a friendly service. That's all a beer advocate would expect from a decent bar and that's all you get here. Snacks are also non trivially tasty.

Don’t be put off by the Google translation as ‘Beer tasting room’ - this is simply a great Dutch ‘brown cafe’ (pub). Escape the tourists and shoppers outside to an oasis of old world calm & charm inside. The beer selection is good, the staff are helpful and friendly and importantly the vibe is relaxed - old men sit on their own contemplating the world over a beer, friends get together to catch up and tourists like me pop in for an authentic experience. Recommended.

One of the best beer bars I have ever visited. The pub has existed since 1985 in a house that has existed as a distillery since 1690. Always 18 beers on tap from all over the world and many bottled beers, always perfectly tempered. The staff really knows beer and what they can do. In addition, this wonderful, old furnishings. It is very pleasant that there is no music playing. You can have a wonderful conversation, stay there for a long time and enjoy a fantastic beer selection. If there were 10 stars, I would give them.

Simon is the best. He gave us great suggestions for Copenhagen which all turned out to be fantastic as well. Thanks for everything Simon.

Beautiful pub serving varieties of beer!! The building is from 1690 and there is something about the vintage ambience here that we kept on coming back again and again the same day! The staff are super friendly and Simon suggested to us the drinks...must go place in Amsterdam!!!

The warmest of service from wonderful people like Frank, where you're encouraged to sit as long as you wish with board games and books, and a fantastic list of beers on draught and in bottle. My new favorite spot in Amsterdam.

This place has every beer you can dream of. Get the cozy brown pub experience with the lovely staff, varying beers on tap and great snacks to go with your beer. The only place where you can get belgian raspberry beer.

Beautiful bar with a great classic European atmosphere. Around 18 options on tap and infinite bottles. All beers were great and the service was very friendly.

Visited here twice during my time in Amsterdam . First time the barman was very helpful in recommending the many beers they have . He was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Sadly the second experience was not as good. The lady was very grumpy, I felt like I was inconvenience being there , and when I ordered spicy sausage platter and it hadn’t turned up after 30 mins, when I checked on it I got a look of disgust, like how dare I chase it, and no apology once delivered They weren’t busy and it was only a cold (I presume it was meant to be cold as when I got it 30 mins later it was) sausage - oddly as soon as I did chase it did come out - so either it was there waiting and just no one came out with it. Sadly that experience is what the reflected in the rating for service

A really cosy and great place for a drink! They also have a selection of gluten free beers that are great for people like my partner who has a gluten allergy.

Nice city center beer tasting room. Impossible to choose from the long beer list. Slightly elitist about beer, but there's nothing wrong with that 🙂.

Fantastic little bar off the chaos of the main streets. Beer selections are first-class and service is warm and welcoming. I am enjoying the unicorn- Westvletern 12 at the moment.

A gem. Really nice selection of beers, Dutch, Belgium and others. Knowledgeable staff on beer and the building and bar. Beer just tastes better when served in the right glass and in a bar like this. Great experience for beer lovers

This is my favorite bar. I visit at least once a year and always enjoy the huge beer list especially the bottle list. The bartenders are always extremely knowledgeable and obviously love what they do. To add to everything their food menu is really tasty. This bar is simply a legend.

Great staff, very knowledgeable about beer and always ready for a nice chat about cats and beer. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is very cozy. The Pub was near to my hotel. So I was able to stop by this pub several times and enjoy a good freshly tapped beer. Greetings from Munich.

Stumbled upon this place by accident. Just looked like a nice place to grab a beer. The staff are really knowledgeable and very friendly. The variety of beer is quite extensive. Ended up having a lot more than just one! This is now my go-to place whenever I visit Amsterdam.

Fabulous place to drink! A wonderful choice of beer. We enjoyed sitting in the sun sampling the ales, eating great local meatballs, meats and cheeses whilst chatting to the very interesting regulars Great banter to be had with the owner who is wonderful! You simply have to go!

If you're looking for a craft beer bar in Amsterdam... this is it. Best Bar in Amsterdam in terms of nice beer and the friendliest staff. We were there on 2 separate occasions, different staff each time, always super nice and incredibly helpful if you want recommendations or a chat. Can't want to return some day

One of my absolute favourites in Amsterdam, if not Europe. Very good selection of craft beers and some nice platters to eat. The interior and atmosphere are amazing.

Well, be prepared to be spending quite some money, but if you have a fine palate for hops and want to explore the most incredible ales and into the deepest and darkest stouts, which are especially brewed for the taps of this unique tasting location, then you will be able to try some of the purest brews out there. Not fancy, really a place for lovers of exquisite hops after taste. Serving portions are also minimalistic and for proofing purposes. You will pay for few ml the price of a pint at your regular pub, but of course the quality and selection is not comparable. This place seems to host professional brewers, sellers and traders. Downside: if you have a drink afterwards and downgrade to regular beer, you will be disappointed by the taste of your "normal" crispy ale. Leave that for another day. It's my personal experience of course, and not all palates are the same.

What a wonderful find, nestled down a sidestreet. This unassuming beer establishment has a gentle relaxed vibe, lots of beers on tap, and in bottles/cans. The bar staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Just ask and be guided to find a tipple of choice or two 😉

All the positive reviews were right. This is a gorgeous gem of a place. Initially I wondered if I was in the right place as it looks like a traditional old beer house. One look at the beer board and I knew I was at home.

Delicious and one of the best ways to try beers exclusively from around the area as well as abroad!

👍 A cozy restaurant with a view. I liked those Avocado chips very much. Comparatively budget friendly in central Amsterdam. (More ideal for a coffee date.) They are providing white bread with steak. . . PS: Don’t forget to reserve a table and visit the restaurant.
