Been twice in two days, loved all morning food: waffle, yogurt with granola, croissant and mini biscuits. Nice selection of fillings and lovely little Nutella's.

As one enters the hallowed realm of Slijtereij Osterling, one is instantly enveloped in a warm embrace of delightful aromas and an ambiance that exudes sophistication. This esteemed establishment, nestled in the heart of the bustling city that is Amsterdam, presents a tableau of epicurean delights that entice even the most discerning of palates. The experience commenced with a sumptuous offering of fried eggs and ham, a dish that may seem deceptively simple but was elevated to celestial heights by the adroit hands of the café's maestro of cuisine. The eggs, cooked to perfection, boasted a sublime consistency with an unctuous yolk that gently cascaded onto the succulent, savory ham. The marriage of these flavors and textures was nothing short of harmonious, providing an exquisite overture to the feast that would follow. Next, the pièce de résistance was presented – the Eggs Benedict. In this divine creation, Slijtereij Osterling has achieved a masterful rendition of a classic dish. The poached eggs, enveloped in a velvety, rich hollandaise sauce, sat atop a foundation of tender, house-made English bread and delicate slivers of smoked ham. Each bite of this ambrosial concoction was an affirmation of the culinary prowess possessed by the artisans in the kitchen. To accompany these gastronomic masterpieces, we partook in the luxurious libation of their signature cappuccino. The rich, aromatic coffee was expertly blended with velvety steamed milk, producing a symphony of flavors that danced upon the tongue. Each sip of this nectar was an ethereal delight, adding an air of sophistication to the repast. In conclusion, a sojourn to Slijtereij Osterling is an absolute must for anyone with a penchant for the finer things in life. The skillfully crafted fare, coupled with the resplendent surroundings, makes for a dining experience that transcends the realm of the ordinary, transporting one to a world of gastronomic enchantment.

Great corner spot with indoor and outdoor dining. Enjoy watching people pass and going in and out of the nearby park. Large selection for drinks, especially for the cocktail lovers. Got to try some jenever that is more aligned with brandy than gin, according to the bartender. It was delicious. Highly recommend. The only bummer is that the kitchen is closed on mondays so I can’t report on the food.

Food was tasty and generous portions. Kitchen must not have had extractor fan as the whole pub stunk of grease. Pub was dark, and service was slow but friendly. Nearly one person serving 15 to 20 people.

I texted with them before our visit and despite the fact that they don't take Reservations they texted me the time that would be best to come over to have breakfast and it worked out perfectly. We had a very delicious breakfast for a very decent price in a very historic, old and cool spot. Very cool place.

Oh my goodness, the waffles. Visiting Amsterdam for the first time and came in here for breakfast. Their waffle puts every other waffle I have ever eaten to shame. We came back the next day to order them again because they were so delicious.

I just love this pub. It is full of character and you feel like you have traveled back in time. Their Jenever is also the best I ever had.

Cool place & atmosphere. Delicious food & great coffee. The owners Oscar & Lucas are a joy to deal with. Favourite place I've spent my mornings on my trip through Europe.

Nice vintage vibe for real. No music but that's not really an issue. Good place to have an actual conversation over a drink.

Echo the above reviews - tons of character, you feel like you’ve traveled back to old Amsterdam. Combined with really friendly bartenders who helped us pick out a nice Jenever, beer and told us about the history of the bar (according to them wood on the bar is over 300 years old!)

Used to live above here. Very nice, simple casual place. Not big. Generally quiet but trams are loud. Sells beverages to go as well (soda/wine).

I was feeling sick in the worst possible way when the bartender ushered me in straight to the ladies room. I have no idea how he knew that's what I needed, but I was having an awful evening and almost cried from this display of kindness. If you want a drink and a chat with the loveliest bartender in Amsterdam I strongly recommend that you come here. Thank you, sir!

I find it the most relaxing and social place in Amsterdam. If you're looking for authentic, it's the place to visit. Stop by and have a laugh with the proprietors. Friendly and approachable all. Ask advice about the city and where you should visit. Of course, they don't wish you to leave. Have fun! 😊

Great spot. Very old spot. Patrons were professionals, parents, kids, foreigners, etc. No music or tv, just conversations. Last place in town that operates as a liquor store as well. Great selections, vibe with friendly service

Comfortable and very cozy on a chilly rainy day. Sat beneath the casks and chatted with the owner who was very welcoming. Delicious array of ciders and beers.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
