Great rooftop place for drinks and music and especially catching some sun if you can get the outside table. Cocktails are a bit expensive but worth it. I had probably the most beautiful cocktails there with white chocolate and raspberries. The music was great with very chill vibes and the staff was very helpful. Go there for sunset for the views.

Great cocktails served over the rooftops of Amsterdam. This creates a superb atmosphere. Staff is friendly and quickly makes you feel at home. You can choose between sitting in the more open bar area or in one of the airy compartments. If the weather is nice, of course the terrace is best choice. Cocktails are tasty and of good size, staff will gladly help you to choose.

The W is a luxury boutique hotel housed in two buildings which were formerly a bank and a telephone exchange, facing each other, on opposite sides of Spuistraat. The hotel's entrance in the exchange building has a small reception desk next to the elevators. Situated on the top floor, besides being one of the city's loftiest and trendiest hotspots, W Lounge also functions as the hotel's lobby. Here, you are likely to encounter international celebrities mingled with Amsterdam's "jet set". The huge lounge offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the city centre with the neighbouring Royal Palace and Magna Plaza shopping mall appearing so close, you almost feel that you can reach out and touch them. The lounge has an assortment of seating areas, open hearth fireplaces and a choice of bars and dining areas. There's even a wet bar with rooftop heated swimming pool. W Lounge offers a superb selection of signature cocktails. Snacks and bar food are available and for those with an appetite, there's Mr Porter, a stunning New York style steakhouse on the same floor. After sunset, the atmosphere is buzzing, as resident DJs play a great assortment of sounds. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. For those "in the know", W Lounge regularly hosts some of the best parties and events in town.

We were at an event/party on the W Lounge Rooftop (45€ per ticket). The terrace is beautiful and offers a great view, but it is extremely small and narrow. The staff at the bar seems disorganized and slow. There are definitely better rooftop bars with a more exclusive atmosphere. At least a bottle of prosecco only costs 50€.

5 stars for their lounge rooftop! Amazing place, very nicely decorated with cozy lights and stunning views! Loved the vibe, the ambience, the cocktails and the staff was incredibly friendly. Also, their bathroom is one of the best decorated in the whole city!

Service is really poor. Many waiters on the floor but it makes no difference - we had to ask for the previous customers' glasses to be taken away, for the table to be cleaned (somehow they didn't find this a natural thing to do after collecting the dirty dishes), follow up on our drinks order after waiting for over 20 minutes (which was mixed up at the end). Nice view but that's about it

Regardless of service or standard of food (I did not try either, I just came to see the view!) this is a must see bar in Amsterdam. It’s is so gorgeous dining and drinking in amongst the rooftops of Amsterdam. Absolutely gorgeous bar.

The first time we had been to W lounge, and we went with high hopes. Unfortunately these hopes were not justified. When we entered we looked for a space to take a seat whilst no one from the staff greeted us (it was not busy). Only when we went to sit down the bartender informed us the table we wanted was reserved for hotel guests. That’s fine, but if you see us walking in, and looking around, why not greet us instead of watching us and saying nothing until we make a “mistake”? We then took a seat, and it took us 15 minutes for someone to come and check on us. I can understand this if it was busy, but it was not. One lady near the entrance was standing near our table but was occupied with anything but the dirty tables all around us or the guests. When we made the order the cocktails came out in 5-10 minutes which was good, but they one had was topped up with crushed ice, and had no straw! This is a basic rule when making cocktails with crushed ice. When we needed the waitress my friend raised her hand and she looked at us with absolute disdain, and when we asked for straws, she made us feel like we were rude for bothering her. After almost 35 minutes of waiting we were finally able to enjoy a drink, which was good, but not at the level of many other cocktail bars in Amsterdam. We had one waitress who was very nice and hospitable who brought us our drinks (I don’t know your name, but keep it up!!). All-in-all, great potential but awful performance.

Very expensive and mediocre drinks. I am fine to pay 18eu for cocktail when they are elegant, these had plenty of ice cubes above liquid level in a rocks glass, not well balanced, very slow service if any at all. Would have to go to the bar to ask my server to come to our table as theyre all just chatting there. The positive is that if you are with a big group you can be lucky enough to get your own private little area which was nice. I do not recommend though, no charm or elegance

The place is very elegant and chic, especially it should be fun the rooftop in summer days. It is better to make a reservation for Friday and Saturday nights. Otherwise try to go early because of the “walk-in first” concept. The cocktails are tasty and the prices are affordable for that type of place. Approximately 15-18€ per cocktail. There was a dj when we were there, and it was a good performance and experience as well.

Good price quality ratio. Atmosphere was also nice you can see a historical building and have a fireplace. Not much food options. And specifically one waitress was not much polite. The rest of the staff was kind. Also we have been rejected to sit at a certain coaches with better view, by being said these they need to keep free for hotel customers. But then after 10 minutes everybody else just sit there.

Service was extraordinary, never seen such nice staff in any other rooftoop-bar before. We were welcomed with lime-water and caramelized almonds even before ordering We decided to go outside with our drinks, and even though the waiter apologized for not being allowed to serve us on the terrace due to the cold weather, they turned on the heating-lamps on our spot! Really liked the interior, would definitly recommend to come here if you want to end the night in a nice way

Very nice Hotel! Very nice view at the rooftop! We come again!! BUT: one star 4 waiter…. I know it was covid, but this guy…… the waiter was unfortunately overwhelmed with 5 people! Had to wait 20 minutes for service. went to order themselves. he couldn't divide a bottle of Prosecco into 5 glasses. although we didn't want full glasses.

Atmosphere was nice, we are staying in the hotel and decided to go upstairs for some drinks and light entrees. The service was sub par and so was the food. Might be better off walking and finding another place near by. Had to waive down a runner to get us water and our drinks and wave down our server for the check at the end. Ordered a second round of drinks that never came but didn’t bother to mention, we’re on our way to grab a drink somewhere near

We went there to have some drinks. The menu is quite varied and the drink deliver. We ordered a focaccia that was quite good. It is an expensive place, so keep that in mind. The service was really good.

We went there for the drinks only. They have great cocktails, the staff are very kind and the view was amazing. I thought this bar was popular in summer with the outside pool, but they actually made it so cosy and comfy in the winter.

On the 6th floor you have the lounge, a cosy and dark bar with a delicious range of cocktails. Absolutely loved the vibe and great cocktails. Ordering one was a bit harder as we kept waving the staff down but they were just running around from one end to the other without actually offering service to any of the guests scattered around. When they did come to get our order they were friendly though!

Nice rooftop bar with a great view, swimming pool and cocktails. The pool area is only for the hotel guests but accessible to guests with a fee. Good vibe.

Magnificent place, great spa. Value for money!

  • 3/5 Lara A. 2 years ago on Google
Very high end. Not cozy, not warm. Nuts offered with the drinks tasted old. Not much of a view either because it's blocked by the Dam Square and Spui buildings. Nothing justifies the price to me apart from being in a hotel.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
