I'm not sure whether it was an off-day, given the other overwhelmingly positive reviews, but we did not have a good time at this place. My burger was warm and cold at the same time and did not — at all — live up to its price, EUR 21,70. For that price, it is reasonable to expect a toasted or quality bun as well. Instead, the bun was cold, the not meat was warm, and the combination caused the burger to fall apart whilst eating. Additionally, one staff member was using quite an authoritative tone towards the guests on the terrace regarding glass work and the usage of cannabis. I completely understand that this is not allowed per law, but a more friendly delivery would have made it easier for him to get the point across whilst simultaneously ensuring a pleasant experience for the guests. On top of that, we had a birthday party and spent quite a lot of money on drinks and food, and a member of the staff wanted to charge us extra for the fireworks. Nearly every other restaurant or bar would do this for free as part of the experience. In the end, they gave it for free anyway, but I found this a very strange thing to do or attempt when you have a party of 30+ people coming and buying drinks for the entire evening and night. I hope this feedback finds you well. Please remember that, even though this is a fairly popular chain restaurant / bar, the frontline staff can make or break the experience of your guests.

I visit Troost whenever I am in Amsterdam as it has a really nice atmosphere and is popular with locals as oppose to tourists. I like that there is music on quietly - it’s not overpowering, and you can still hear yourself think and hear your conversations. The staff are always really friendly and knowledgeable. My partner appreciates the great selection of beers. I don’t drink alcohol and I like that I can sit in here without feeling pressured to drink. It’s a nice atmosphere to spend a night.

One of the beat brewed beer bars in town. Has a bunch of different seating options and serves some really incredible beer. Loved all the flavours of the beers here. I especially liked the triple. The staff are super friendly and the food is really really good for a bar. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good beer. I would recommend booking a table ahead of time as this place is very popular and gets quite full quickly especially towards the evenings. Highly recommended

Great place to have beers. It has always been a good place yet quite slow. I was happily surprised that during corona the service became a whole lot faster, we order beers and they were there within one minute, burgers within 5, against the 5 and 15 minutes respectively that they would normally take. Anyhow, one of the best places to visit in any of their locations and one of the best beers to taste in A'dam!

I booked our team Christmas party here (20+) people. We had a space in the conservatory area. It could not have been any more perfect. Lucas and his team were super accommodating! We moved some tables around so we could all sit together. We had our own beer tap and food came out very quick. It was a perfect night - would highly recommend considering for any large/group event.

Lovely beer bar, clean beers and lip-smacking bar food like bitterballen. A must visit.

The food is below average and really pricey for the quality and quantity of the food. I have been twice and both times have been shocked by the price. It is outrageous. I would not recommend eating here at all. There are much nicer pubs and bars around Amsterdam with much better food at better prices. If anything I would go here for the pub quiz and a beer or two

I love this place when going out with a group of people. Staff is friendly, food is delicious and they allow you to split the bill. I already went here so many times and I was never disappointed

The New England is probably the most delicious beer I've ever had. They were very friendly and we enjoyed hanging out in such a relaxing spot.

For my birthday celebration I was allocated half of the glass veranda at the back of the bar. I had indicated 40-60 people, in the end I invited around 45 people and I’m very glad it wasn’t 60, as the space was already too small for 45. There was a table with benches in the middle of the veranda, probably to divide the space into two, but it wasn’t really working as my guests could have used that space as well (a group of strangers was sat there most of the night). It was a very crowded situation, people were stuck standing in the doorway, etc. It would have been best to either book out the whole veranda or invite max 25-30 people to have some breathing space. I arrived 15 minutes before the party was supposed to start, and the veranda was still full with other guests. The staff got them out quickly though and offered a free bottle of bubbles to compensate for the late start. It was ok in the end, just caused some unnecessary stress as some early guests already started to come in while the space was still being cleaned. The personal beer tap is cool though, people loved it and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, keeping me updated on spend etc. All in all, really good birthday location!

First of all i have to say, the staff was very friendly and helpful thats why it deserves 5 stars, unfortunately the food was really bad and the prices very high, certainly the neighbourhood is hip but it doesnt justify the poor quality of the food. We order a mac and cheese that have no cheese, the hamburger was mediocre and the bitterballen extremly greasy and empty, had no filling... the nachos were simple doritos and half of the portion was crushed and with almost no toppings....if they would put their food prices 40% would definitely be "fair". I hope they can improve their kitchen, its a lovely place

Nice place, IPAs would compete with the best American versions. Really solid. Diacetyl in the kettle sour but fruit was very good. Bock was clean and tasty, would go again.

Loved this place so much, I ate here twice in 4 days. The atmosphere is perfect if you want a relaxing night with a bar kind of atmosphere. I had bitterballen at every restaurant I could find it and this one was definitely my favorite. Burgers and pancetta flammkuchen (flatbread) were AMAZING. Also had the shrimp tacos, which were interesting and good, but I'd go for the other plates. Cider and lemonade are both delish if you're not a beer drinker.

Great Ambience. Good beer. Helpful and polite staff. Nice place to try fresh beer on the tap. New England is a must try if you enjoy light fruity flavors

Awesome bar in the middle of Amsterdam zuid. Great atmosphere both inside and out. Order any of their beers which they brew in the building or grab a cocktail from the menu. Coming with a group and have something to celebrate. See if they have their table taps available. Endless beers without the wait. 😉

Really fun place to grab beers with friends and try some new flavors. Food is all right. Nothing spectacular, but everything goes great with beers. If you are having a party, get you self a tap! (Otherwise it can take a while before you get served)

The inside looks a little quaint, the borrel snacks are okay, but pricey. Of course we came here for the beer and that was DELICIOUS!

Amazing burgers!! The menu is very varied, veggie and vegan options. Service is friendly and quick. I had the Umami burger. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. The combination of the meat, kimchi and sauce was a new experience !! Def a must try!!

Great beer selection of beer made by the brewery. More than a dozen in house beers with a pretty decent selection (even barley wine?!?!?). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. Overall I'd say this place is a winner and I would definitely return. Highly recommended

Great place for a quick drink! We didn’t eat here but will definitely be back to try the food because it all looked awesome. Huge beer selection, most brewed there, and they also offer Bear cider which is made in the Netherlands but not widely available at a lot of restaurants. Super cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Unfortunately the menu changed to zero meat, was better to offer some meat options. Ok to be sustainable but is contradictory to produce beer, hopefully the production and the beer CO2 supply chain is sustainable too. V Bitterballen dry. Fries still oke.

I live in amsterdam long time and I know the price of the city very well. I paid here for a burger 15e with nothing coming with it. Not even a little salad leaf to pretend the burger was not alone. The plate came half empty with this little burger on it. I was chocked. The burger was ok but not worth this price. It is just a matter of principles somehow.

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
