Great place for a pint or two… Excellent location in the heart of the Red Light District filled with tourists and locals! Cold beer, friendly service and great smiles abound… The staff is amazing! Mike, Ken, Richard, Morris, Calvin…. always ensure you’re well hydrated… with a smile! Do yourself a favour… come to relax a bit or stay for the evening to mingle with like minded people from all over the place! Proost!

Busy place in the red light district of Amsterdam, hardly a chance to get a place. A little bit more expensive, maybe because it is a touristic place. Great choice of beers!

Genuine Dutch pub, nice beer good atmosphere. Just don't go if you need a poo.

We came here for a few pints, it's not really a cafe it's more like a traditional English pub, with hen and stag doo's enjoying the beers on offer. The atmosphere was amazing playing 90's pop and people enjoying talking and some dancing inside, this pub is located in the heart of the red light district. I did feel two pints of strongbow for €18ish was a little way over priced. They lost two stars because there wasn't enough seating outside, some people were sitting there with no drinks in hand while people who had drinks wanted to sit, and wasn't a far rotation of passing by people jumping for empty tables while who paid wanted a seat was asked to wait inside with no chance of getting outside. Also the men's toilets are disgusting, they have a traditional Asian hole in the floor type toilet and there was piss everywhere and someone had been sick and there was splash back on the sides and floor.

Truly a GREAT bar in the core of the downtown Amsterdam area. Happy staff always manage to turn a good place into an awesome place. Loved it so much I went back a few times and got a T-shirt for fun too! During soccer matches expect and heck of an great atmosphere here.

Great little spot in the middle of the red light district. The bar staff were very friendly and we had a lovely bar man who looked after us and (as two young girls in a busy area) made us feel very safe and welcome to come back whenever we needed to. Thank you

This was a great bar! We had a lovely time talking to the bartender. He found out that we were still newlyweds and treated us to shots of Jäegermeister. I never drink shots and only took a sip. Couldn’t drink it…black licorice! Yuk! Thank goodness my husband could finish it! I highly recommend stopping in!

Very busy, the bar staff were friendly, the service was very good and the gents toilets are quite unique. (well worth a visit).

This place has been a repeat stop for us every time we are in Amsterdam. It is located in the Red Light District offering people watching at its best RLD, so no parking, no food. It is a full service bar with a good beer selection. We have seen the same staff working there for years.

Quite a nice bar, but very tourist trap like. It was crowded, service was slow and the drinks were expensive compared with elsewhere. The toilet is free however and, if you can find a seat at a window or on the benches out front then it's a great place to watch the world around you (do not stand outside with a drink, you will get in trouble!)

A fun vibrant boozer. The bar staff are super friendly. This is just like your local pub at home and you are made to feel like it. Definitely worth a visit.

Every time I travel to Amsterdam I stop to the Old Sailor. The bar is located in a perfect spot in the Red Light District. The atmosphere is perfect. It does have a pretty good selection of beers on tap. The servers are friendly and service is good. The bar does only accept cash. No credit or debit cards. Smoking is not allowed inside. It is nice during spring/summer to have drinks of the front patio. It might get really crowded at around 5 PM. Highly suggested!

Such a cool place to relax for a bit and get something to drink. The bartender is soo welcoming and the greatest I have ever met. Definitely worth a visit!

Nice decor. Attentive barman. Big TV screen turned to soccer which was ok with me. All ages present. It also felt safe when I was their in the afternoon even though it is in the red district. Beer was cold. Male toilet is basically a hole but clean.

Wanted afternoon drinks did a bit of a bar hop then came across the old sailor. We sat there for hours, crying with laughter the staff were amazing 🤩 highlight of our trip bloody love this place x keep it up guys 👏🤪 if we ever come back we will no doubt be visiting 😍

The music was terrible, no WiFi password given even though they have a personal WiFi. The smallest toilet you've ever seen However the decor is nice and the pint of Amstell was also good.

The home pub of a good friend, located in the buzzing red light district. It is something else, always this happy party buzz cheering dancing locals, a lot of English guests and people visiting even from neighbouring cities. Great vibe, friendly staff that do keep an eye out for everybody's well being. Great place!

terrible service and people at the bar I'm a girl who mixed up the doors in the toilet and for one second I opened the door to the men's toilet, the bartender saw it and said that this was the door to the men's toilet, okay, I understood and went to the women's but then when I came to the bar to order another cocktail, they refused to sell me one because they didn’t like that I opened the door to the men’s room and they also refused to sell anything to my friends they came up and snatched their own beer right out of their hands!! which my friends paid for I don't know where these people get such hatred from thank you very much to this bar for a terrible and ruined evening
