👍 Walked past here every day and finally went inside. What a great pub!!! It’s right on a canal with amazing views. Originally built in 1695 this place serves some good pub food and ice cold beer and drinks. It’s a fun place and if you pass by go in, you’ll have a good time. Cool location by canal and historic buildings. Seating inside and outside. Food OK but nothing special, good selection of beers. Good service.

Little gem this is. Nice place to sit, relax have a drink and something to bite and watch canal and people passing by. Nice selection of beers and small bites. Curly fries were amazing- cooked to perfection 👌🏻 Everything would be perfect if not for not so nice waitress. Attitude 🤦🏼‍♀️🤌🏻

This is a charming place right on the canal with a beautiful view downstream It was originally a lock keepers cottage and has a lot of historical charm. When you view it from the patio area it is wonky, leaning towards the water. We were the first customers, so it wasn't busy at all... We didn't eat here although before we arrived in Amsterdam it was on my list I had a coffee and my partner had a beer, it was lovely and warm inside and very welcoming You are directly opposite Rembrandts house... Fascinating to think he would have passed this building... I loved sitting here and soaking up the atmosphere

Great place to have a particular beer in a suggestive place. The location is amazing. Prices are reasonable, if you consider it is located in a very central area of Amsterdam center. There are some particular beers which I think deserve to be tried.

The only place I've felt drunk before I've had a drink - This wonky pub is all at different angles. Definitely worth a visit to this historic pub right on the croosroads of 4 canals - a great people watching place.

A unique place on the bank of one of Amsterdam’s channels that gives a possibility to enjoy the city drinking a stunning Dutch beer and the one from other parts of the world. Perfect beer choice. Kind personnel. And this concept of a small wooden old house is very attentive.

It was really a good moment to drink something next to the canal in such a beautiful place. The building is small but there is seats outside. The atmosphere is really pittoresque, prices are good. The staff was a little bit unfriendly unfortunately.

The Re Sluyswatch just oozes old world charm. Great Amsterdam vibes. Small and charming. They put out some great snacks to go with the beer. Try some of each, their prices are great! Just far enough off the beaten path that it isn’t overrun with the backpacking crowd. (Thank goodness for that) It’s right on the waterfront of a large canal. Seating out front, inside and out back.

Quirky little place with a little bit of a 'lean' to it. A good choice of beers, not your usual Amsterdam Heineken or similar... some good beers with a decent % too!! Nice ambience sat next to the canal and enjoy a beer or food (not tried the latter on this occasion). Worth stopping by!

Better sitting upstairs, downstairs in the bar is reserved. Cosy historic place, a good reason to learn a Dutch word Gezellig!

Gave a short visit to this cafe, we immediately got a seat outside by the canal overlooking the Amsterdam canal houses. Very friendly staff, we asked for recommendations which they provided. Really loved the vibe of the place, ordered bitterballen and curly fries. Loved it. Shall visit again! Tot ziens!

I tiny bar where Rembrandt may have possibly sold his paints for 3 guilders! (But don’t quote me!)

Our favourite pub in Amsterdam and dare I say it maybe one of my all time favourites. Great beer and good nibbles. Idyllic setting on the canal and a quintessential Dutch building.

Loved this place so much. We went here several times during our weekend trip. Highly recommend the fried cheese sticks.

Such a cosy place with great views and affordable drinks (wines for 4 euros, Gin Tonics around 9 euros). There are blankets for when it's cold outside but still want to enjoy the great views. Inside however is really small and smelly (old beer aromas), with a sticky floor. Toilets are clean.

Walked past on a sunny day but cooling off with a bit of chill. Had gone past on a canak cruise earlier and plenty in. Empty when we walked past later with only a few clinging to the last rays of sunshine on the terrace

Perfect spot, we stumbled upon this very famous place by accident and so glad we did. The service was great and the atmosphere was very relaxed, a perfect dog-friendly spot to rest in the sweltering heat in Amsterdam.

Super-charming, tiny historic building on a canal, with lots of outdoor seating. We came a few times for beer and snacks--their fries are the best we found anywhere in the Netherlands or Belgium. A fun, lively hangout scene with very friendly table service. We didn't try any of the actual food, but we found it a great early evening stop before heading to dinner.

Waited 10 minutes to get a menu, another 15 to order 3 beers and finally just walked off after another 20 elapsed. The restaurant was at less than half capacity. Lame.

We loved this place as we were trying to find a drinking spot in a historical location and this one met our wants! Plenty of snacks and a good beer selection. Lively spot, quirky, and would return if back in Amsterdam.

Great location, surrounded by iconic Dutch canals in an old building. Great snack options (but no full meals), polite helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere to relax and enjoy the afternoon. Great if you want a beer - not much selection in the way of wines if that's what you're after.

Great place. They open at 12 and then it is the best time to visit it if you do not like a crowd. You can enjoy in your drink watching ships in canal. Afternoon it is impossible to find free place and you need to wait at least 10 min

Favourite pub in the city. Amazing location, nice staff, good food. Just an all round enjoyable experience.

The service was slow, they forget about our beers, but the place has a nice atmosphere and the food was good. We had vegetarian cricetts with mustard, it was okay.

I just love the place's silence it is close to crowd but also hidden. One missing thing is their coffee machine was out of order. Easily can be solve.
