This place is amazing. The music is great. They play all sorts of rock music. But the best thing is the owners and the regulars. They were so nice to me. I felt like I'd known them for years. They made me feel so welcome. It was my first time abroad and i was a bit nervous and this was the first place I went to on my night out when i arrived in Amsterdam. They made me feel Wright at home. Love these guy's can't wait to go back. Love Amsterdam so many awesome people. I met a girl on my first night here at the cave rock club and she was amazing. Damn i got to find that number.x

Felt very judged as soon as we walked in just because we didn't exactly "look the part". Dressed a little nicer as we went for dinner before going there and just felt very unwelcome as soon as we stepped foot in that place and got way over charged, paid 20 euros for two drinks (beer and a vodka+mixer). It's unrealistic even in London where we live. These places are meant to be no judge policy so it was very disappointing. The place itself seems great, amazing music so if you go make sure you wear your best band t-shirt otherwise you will get the hell judged out of you. Real shame.

Hands down the best rock club I've been! The bar staff were so welcoming going the extra mile for there customers, very sad to be leaving this place after an epic weekend! If your in the Dam and love rock music it's the place to be!

We visited The Cave for the two nights we spent in Amsterdam, this place is the real rock/metal bar where you can hang out and meet people. The service was excellent and the prices very fair, the owner is always there playing the best music. The will always be on my list when in Amsterdam.

It was a relatively quiet night when we visited (a Thursday) but it was a relaxed and cool atmosphere nonetheless with good music being played. It would be nice to return on a live music night. The Barman was friendly and I'm sure it's more lively there at the weekend.

Good rock bar with a friendly crowd. We went on a Saturday night for a few hours up until about half past midnight and it was busy but not full. There wasn't live music but the soundtrack was lots of good metal classics. We'd been to Excalibur previously but much preferred the atmosphere and crowd here - not being right in the centre of the Red Light District helps! Standard prices of around €4-8 for medium/large Heineken.

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, good conversation and a friendly bartender. And not to forget, good music! All kinds of metal are played here all the time. No watered down bs to get more patrons in. Sometimes there are bands playing too.

I absolutely loved this place. The owner is kind and friendly. (Thanks for the stickers!) He also chose good songs: we heard all kinds of music from across the rock/metal spectrum (big and small bands). Maybe there could be a greater draught beer selection. But I'm being picky: we went 3 times during our short trip, which says it all. If I'm back in Amsterdam, I'll be returning as soon as I can. Rock on.

The one and ony real rock & metal bar left in town. Been coming here for 20+ years. Nice & cool people, welcoming vibe, loud music. It's my home away from home (..and, for reference, I've lived in Amsterdam all my life) Live music occasionally / when possible. Some legendary bands have played here; some legendary bands hang out here after shows. For good reason. Check it out sometime!

They have happy hour offers, and live music, although we couldn't enjoy the live music I think the artist/s didn't show up as there was something scheduled when we visited and no one played. Been here a bunch of times now and I wish I could give more stars. The nicest bar I've been to in ages. Over the top friendly staff and the people you come across in there are awesome. I haven't felt at home like that in a very long time. I'm suprised how nice the acoustics are in there, especially for live music, which was sick btw, and the music in general is great, from more extreme metal to some rock classics, there is butter for every bread. Or if you like it all, like me, then you'll always be happy.

My favorite pub in all of Amsterdam. Amazing service in a cozy atmosphere. Really one of the best reasons to visit Holland is this gem. Live music on special nights, good rock and metal selections for songs. Cool look to the place and some of the nicest staff. The owners are really down to earth people. Really made us feel welcome in Holland and also like we were welcome at their pub. Definitely go to the Cave!

Amazing little club with a wide variety on metal music, sometimes you can ask for a song which the owner will allow but then he will just let the music play with no requests. Which was good for me as I hadn't heard some of the bands before so got some new bands to search for. Visited it 3 times on the weekend so I highly recommend this place.

Rock bars are sadly in decline but The Cave is still keeping it alive! A great place that has busy and had friendly service. We watched live music there as well (note there may be a charge to enter on such nights). A great music selection for spanning from classic heavy metal to nu metal. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in amsterdam!

This was place was a hidden gem. They played about 10 of my favourite thrash metal songs in a row and then happily played my bombardment of requests. I asked them to pick the place up and put it down where I live in England.

Fantastic experience. If you're alternative, this is the spot to go in Amsterdam. The regulars, the staff and the owner are all amazing people and made me feel part of the family straight away. You have to make this a priority stop if you're alternative/metal. They also do live music! One of the only bars in Amsterdam to have live metal bands!
