We had the first dinner of our whole week in Amsterdam. Such a nice restaurant with very warm and sweet service. The owner was super nice to use. The food is quite Dutch traditional food. A little heavy but quite delicious. You must try the stew. It’s super good. If you have no idea to order, I recommend their sets. Like menu 2/3/4 sound very good and easy to choose.

Small, cozy restaurant with nice atmosphere. I just got to the Netherlands for the very first time, so I really wanted to taste something local, and really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, portions big, and the food was marvelous. I had one of the fixed price 3-course meals, so it was also quite cheap, in my opinion. The food was obviously very hearty, so I was glad that I had no other plans other than just go back to the hotel and take a nap. Thanks for the first great impression on my stay here! :-)

What a great experience! We wanted to go to this restaurant since we started planning our visit to Amsterdam, it was recommended everywhere. It did not dissapoint. We made a reservation online two days in advance, for 3 o’clock, but we arrived an hour early and it was packed. As soon as there was a space we were seated. Even though the place was completely full, service was quick and efficient. The waiters were very cheerful and had a minute to chat even though they had a lot of work. We ordered menus 2 and 3 out of 4 they have, a shrimp cocktail and 4 large beers. Total was 90€, worth every euro. Food was delicious, even if it seemed a bit strange. Very typical Dutch food, touristy but it had a homemade taste. Very happy we went there, 5 stars well deserved.

On our visit to Amsterdam we felt we hadn't really had a lot of Dutch food, so I looked up the best places to get some and found The Pantry. It delivered on every level! I think we were lucky to get in as there were a couple that didn't show up for their reservation so we managed to get a seat. So it is probably best to book ahead as it's a small restaurant and gets packed fast. The staff were exceptionally friendly and delivered brilliant service, and always with a laugh and a smile, very welcoming. I ordered menu B which had croquettes, the oven dish, and mini pancakes. The croquettes and pancakes were very good, but it's the oven dish that blew me away! Every bite was packed full of flavour as the dish is seasoned really really well. I was a little disappointed when I finished as I wanted to keep eating it until I was full! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try traditional dishes while in Amsterdam.

Friendliest service in the universe! We are so glad we chose this restaurant to try out some Dutch food. Loved the apple pie and the main dishes were also delicious. I can only highly recommend this place, the people are so nice! Big thumbs up and keep up the fantastic work!

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The menu offers an interesting selection of daily Dutch dishes. This was a nice way of introducing foreigners to this type of food. Definitely recommend for any tourist who likes to try new food options. Quality, pricing and service is all good. Restaurant is clearly ment to target tourists.

Great customer service, lovely ladies with great personality. Tourist friendly with a variety of translated menu, staff were very accommodating. Arriving around midday, the place was full, lucky as a solo diner I did not have to wait for long. Ordered the Dutch special Smoke sausages with a combination of mash mixed with veggies (Hutspot) and their mini pancakes. Delicious meal and friendly service, unfortunately I cannot try other things on the menu. One of the most popular and probably the best Dutch restaurants in Amsterdam and cheap as well, a must visit.

The Pantry was the first of many delicious food stops while in the beautiful, quaint city of Amsterdam. I was truly impressed by the welcoming of the staff as well as there ability to accommodate us so quickly. Despite different language, they had different menus to offer and the staff was fluent in many. I could not have asked for a better for impression of the Netherlands. Great people. Delicious food. Wonderful time with friends.

Wonderful Dutch culinary experience! My wife and I stopped by here on a rainy February evening. The food was absolutely wonderful, the beer selection was excellent, and the staff were friendly and just a delight to be with! This is an absolute must for anyone that is spending time in Amsterdam. Come see how amazing the Dutch food is from a superb restaurant.

Interior is cozy. We had the beef stew and Dutch ham, both of them were delicious. For the beef stew, the smashed potato that came with it was also surprisingly good: seasoned just right and slightly baked (probably?) from the outside. The service was super nice. We walked in in the afternoon and got a table immediately. If you come without reservation during peak hours, you may have to wait for a while.

One of the best Dutch restaurant in Amsterdam. The restaurant is always full, and be expected for a long queue if you don’t have any reservations. The reason for being so popular is the food quality and reasonable price. We enjoy a really good dinner here, with huge proportions of traditional Dutch food, including Boerenkoolstamppot and the Dutch ham. The Dutch ham was really juicy, with excellent sweet mustard. Staff are extremely friendly, with good conversations as always.

Best traditional Dutch/German food in Amsterdam. Service was great and the atmosphere. We arrived at 8 on a Tuesday without a reservation but they made room for us right in the front window with a perfect view of the street. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing.

If you want an authentic Dutch experience this the place you are looking for. I knew it was going to be good when I arrived because the place was packed. As a suggestion it would be good to make a reservation, we were lucky to find availability. We waited sitting outside for a couple of minutes and we were able to go inside. The food was amazing, we ordered the menu 2 and menu 3. The service was fantastic. Eeryone very polite! This is a must if you are in Amsterdam.

Staff were incredibly friendly, and given how busy it was, they found us seating outside. I had the Dutch pork. The pork was cooked perfectly. the sauce was not my favourite but nice to try something local. The Dutch sausage and mash was amazing, and the small pancakes were delish. Really good value given portion size and quality. Definitely come but do book ahead!

We went to the Pantry based on a suggestion from a friend, and it did not disappoint. We arrived there without a reservation, but I would recommend to make a reservation beforehand. All the plates were really good and typical Dutch style. The staff was also super nice and explaining all the dishes. I will come back.

My friend and I wanted to try some Dutch food and saw this place with raving reviews. It’s in the centre of Amsterdam and definitely catered for tourists but we absolutely loved it. Dutch food might not be the most exciting but we knew that going in and everything we ordered was hearty and delicious and so comforting on a cold rainy night! The service we received was amazing and we thought the prices were very reasonable.

What an absolutely great dinner! We really want to experience Dutch food and our hotel concierge highly recommended this restaurant. The food was really good and they were so kind and friendly. We both ate from the set menu, I had #3 and my husband had #2.

Small, local restaurant. The staff were very friendly and kind. I experienced Dutch food for the first time. It was a very pleasant experience. Pea- soup & Dutch shrimp for Appetizers and Dutch peas & Savoury beef and onion stew for main course. They were really wonderful and delicious.

Went here for my 21st birthday dinner, which was reserved weeks in advance! Be warned…restaurant is very busy so recommend booking in advanced! On arrival, had to wait for our table around 10 minutes outside. Loses a star as had to wait on a table that was reserved. It was the only place on the street with queues outside, so we knew it was the place to be! We were seated on a table with two others, as the restaurant is tiny and tables tightly packed. Waiters helped with food and drink choices and were very friendly. Delicious house made traditional Dutch cooking (we had set meal 2 plus sausage and mash). All very tasty, comforting and satisfying. At the end of the evening staff surprised me with birthday sparklers in my dessert and dimmed the lights to sing happy birthday. Was a lovely touch, followed by shots (named “perfect happiness”) on the house for our table and all the waiting staff too! A memorable evening!😊

My 14 year old son loved this place. The waiter is really zany, the food is strange and it is in a really touristy part of Amsterdam but it is a lot of fun to visit here. I am not sure how genuinely 'traditional' the food is but don't worry about just enjoy the weird ambience. BTW the pork chop is massive much better than the hutspot.

Delicious food. Some great Dutch inspired dishes. The sheppard pie and chicken satay were fantastic. The ambiance of the restaurant is out of this world, I felt like I was in an old Amsterdam city movie shoot. A must try if you’re in the area.

The Pantry is a delightful little Dutch restaurant in Amsterdam. My wife and I shared a sausage plate, beef stew, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, and cheese fondue. Everything was delicious, down to our chocolate mousse dessert. The wait staff spoke several languages without trouble, including English, German, and French. The high reviews on Google are well deserved!

Absolutely adored this restaurant! Tasty traditional food, super friendly waiter, relaxed atmosphere, romantic interior, reasonable prices... a word of warning though: come hungry! The portions are quite big! In terms of the meals, it was a difficult choice (as the whole menu looked so good!) but I went for Menu 1 and the boyfriend had Menu 3 - both absolutely delicious menus with starters, mains and desserts. Had a pleasant surprise in the pea soup. Would definitely come back again next time we're in town!

(Translated by Google) Highly Recommended. We went to this great restaurant twice. The service is great and very friendly. We felt so comfortable both times. Dutch cuisine is no frills, but very tasty and definitely filling. The prices are perfectly okay, but the service is priceless. The staff go out of their way to speak the local language of their guests, but it should not be expected. Everyone is most happy when at least the "Thank you" is in Dutch. In this sense: Thanks u well. Here you should reserve a table in advance, as they are very well attended (we can absolutely understand). Anyone in Amsterdam should definitely eat here. (Original) Absolut empfehlenswert. In diesem Sinne: Dank u well. Hier sollte man allerdings einen Tisch vorab reservieren, da sie sehr gut besucht sind (wir können es absolut verstehen). Simple food. For starter we went for the goat cheese croquettes that were nice. For mains, we had 1) the beef mixed with too much onions for our taste although not really a problem apart that it was lacking taste. It came with a side of cabbage that was typical (so nothing special), and 2) the sea bass that only had a plain olive oil and parsley (so not that tasty) but the potato mash that came with both dishes was quite nice. The restaurant itself is cute enough and the waitress was nice.

One of the best places to eat in Amsterdam! The food is good and at an affordable price. The place is beautiful! Staff are very friendly and helpful. There were some dishes that we didn't know and couldn't pronounce in Dutch and they helped us. For start we ordered the "Dutch goat cheese croquettes". It's so good! Delicious! For the main course: "Combination of hutspot, boerenkool- and zuurkoolstamppot served with a smoked sausage" and "Over dish with cauliflower, ground beef, Old Amsterdam cheese, curry onions and mashed potatos". I have to say that the Over dish was a little too spicy for me, but it's my problem, not the restaurant. I don't eat anything spicy and I didn't think it could be spicy. For dessert we ordered the "Boerenjongensijs" and the Apple Pie. Apple Pie was the best I've ever tasted in my life! It was so good! Not too sweet, more apple than cake. Perfect! I've tasted several apple pies in Amsterdam and this is the best!

Typical and homemade delicious Dutch food. As a starter we had the green pea soup, thick and flavorful. We had the beef stew and the hache with sausage as main courses, both very tasty. Prices are not expensive for Amsterdam. The service is excellent, although the place is very busy all the time.

I loved my dinner at The Pantry. The ambience were really cool and the food was great. The staff was very nice and welcoming. I had for starters the bitterballen and for main Hachee (the beef and onion stew). Both were delicious and felt like comfort food. 10/10 would recommend for some nice traditional Dutch food.

Wow. Some of the best service I’ve received. Genuine, thoughtful and switched on. All good we had was excellent! Best pea soup I’ve ever had! The beef was great and mini pancakes too! We went on a Friday and it was full. We had booked in person earlier in the day so try this or call if the website is full for reservations.

We had the loveliest time at The Pantry last night, the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating, defining what customer service should be. We will definitely come back again when we visit Amsterdam and recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Dutch food and excellent customer service. Thank you again to the staff who made our visit so memorable! Ps. Highly encourage booking in advance though as it gets very busy at dinner time 🙂

The food was delicious here. We had the pea and ham soup and bitterballen to start. We then had the Dutch ham (pork knuckle) and smoked sausage with mashed potato and sauerkraut. For dessert, we had poffertjes. This was my favourite restaurant on our trip here.

Cute little restaurant. Very nicely decorated. There was not a single empty place. The food is simple, tasty and large portions. The steak was a little bit tough.

Great local place, with really friendly staff and decent price. They offer menu options, with great combos. We were really satisfied with whole experience, would definitely recommend.

Have been here twice and still super happy about the quality of the food and service. I am Dutch and grew up with Dutch food. So I can say with complete certainty that this is authentic Dutch food. Such an amazing quality. The service is honest and real. They like their job. Amazing place.

If your in Amsterdam and want to sample authentic Dutch food then this is the place for you. After managing to squeeze in a couple of visits over the period of a week, we can honestly say this is now one of our favourite places to eat. The food is certainly 5 star and complimented by equally great staff. I would recommend that you book a table well in advance as it fills up quickly, but if you fail to do that you may be lucky to get a drop in. But this is one place you certainly don't want to miss

Had a delicious meal with wonderful service here. The food was very much "comfort food" . Filling, flavorful and non- pretentious. The prices were also very fair. I'd recommend making a reservation, or arriving early for dinner. We only got a table thanks to a very accommodating hostess.. Also of note, he Feeling Dutch beer was excellent!

A must-visit in you’re in Amsterdam! 1. The food was delicious. The fillet of sea bass was herbal, silky and optimally-juicy. The Dutch shrimp croquettes were crispy and hearty. 2. The waitresses were amiable and charming. 3. The service was quick. 4. The place was impeccably clean and smelled of exquisite food. Try to get a reservation as this restaurant is highly popular.

Wonderful little place. I visited today and had one of their specials. Everything was so flavorful - the pea soup, the combo with sausage, and a yogurt/pudding dessert. The service was fantastic - the server was so pleasant. And the man who seats the guests, who I suspect is the owner, was kind and gracious. I would gladly go back again, and will share this gem with friends planning a visit.

Awesome food experience. The staff are very funny and lovely. The price is also reasonable. Don’t forget to reserve your table before if you want to make sure to dine there as the queue is pretty long if you don’t.

Food was okay, the main course was bland. The dessert and appetizer was very good. Lots of flavor. Make sure to reserve a table, as this is a small place and very busy. The tables are very close together. You need to be accustomed to close European dining. Pictures below are menu options 3 & 4.

This is the place where you can try some traditional food in good price and quality. The staff is really amiable! The place is common so probably you will be waiting for a moment in the queue. The restaurant offers four menu each with three courses but you can choose whatever you want also

You want an authentic Dutch experience with food? This is the place. I knew it was going to be good when I arrived because the place was packed. However, I enjoyed sitting at a table outside. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Pricing was decent as well. I highly recommend the bitterballen. 🤤 You must try!

It’s situated in a vibrant food area with nice atmosphere, it’s a small and quirky place, with extra few tables to seat guests outside. The service was warm and friendly, we didn’t book because it said in had no availability, after reading the positive reviews we decided to show up and and wait incase of cancellation. They managed to find us a table, and after a while we managed to place our order which took a very long time to arrive 😢 The food was flavoursome, but similar to British pub food, and unfortunately very limited on vegetarian options. Prices for what they offer and the location I would say reasonable. Overall experience was positive, we chatted to the people sting at the table next to us had a nice time.

Lovely little restaurant for Dutch food! We got set menu 1 and 2! Both were delicious. Highlights were the: croquette, pea soup, sausage, baked dish and pancakes! Would highly recommend making a booking a week before - when we were sitting we could hear plenty of customers try to get a seat without a booking!

Perfect. Great atmosphere, amazingly friendly and expert service, excellent food. We arrived around 7.30pm on a Friday night without a reservation and were told there would be a table around 9pm. We returned at 9pm and were taken to the table. Thanks for a great first meal in Amsterdam (happened to be our favourite). Food appeared authentic and very tasty, including desserts.

Excellent place for a traditional warm meal. I stopped here for lunch while exploring the city in the cold and ordered the 3 course "menu 1". The pea soup was excellent and rich in flavor. The main dish allowed me to try 3 different variations of traditional garnishes along with a meatball. The dessert was nice too, although I'm not a fan of this kind of desserts and prefer chocolate 😁 Very friendly and joyful staff, very pleasant atmosphere. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal so much, I strongly recommend! Mind that the place is small and typically a reservation is required.

Very cozy environment and friendly staff ☺️ the food was amazing, typically impressed by the Dutch Ham. Super tender! The dessert was also very good. Especially love the raisins with rum and vanilla ice cream. Would surely recommend to everyone travelling in Amsterdam!
