Arriving
for
a
late
dinner,
we
were
quickly
greeted
and
seated
per
our
request
at
a
table
outside
with
a
view
of
the
canal.
It
was
a
cool
evening
and
we
wanted
to
enjoy
the
sights
and
sounds
of
Amsterdam.
We
ordered
the
roasted
aubergine
(eggplant),
a
side
salad,
the
600
gram
ribeye
for
two
with
fries,
and
two
gin
and
tonics.
The
roasted
eggplant
was
amazing.
It
was
served
resting
on
a
bed
of
mixed
baby
field
greens,
goat
cheese,
walnuts
and
pomegranate
seeds.
The
textures
and
flavors
of
the
dish
work
well
together.
It
was
delicious.
The
Hendricks
gin
and
tonics
were
served
with
a
cucumber
garnish
that
added
a
nice
refreshing
flavor
to
the
cocktail.
The
side
salad,
steak
and
fries
came
out
immediately
after
we
polished
off
the
eggplant
appetizer.
The
steak
was
a
perfect
medium
rare
and
had
just
enough
fat
for
a
wonderful
flavor
without
being
fatty.
The
fries
were
crunchy
and
delicious.
The
restaurant
has
a
great
atmosphere
and
the
servers
are
very
helpful.
While
paying
the
tab,
we
struck
up
a
conversation
with
the
staff
as
the
restaurant
had
closed
and
they
were
cleaning
up.
It
turned
out
we
had
been
speaking
with
the
chef
who
prepared
our
meal.
He
was
very
friendly
and
attentive
and
requested
our
feedback.
It
was
a
delightful
conversation.
