😠 Lucky to receive one star… I never usually review unless positive but the way we were spoken to was appalling. We stopped off for a drink to get out of the rain, unfortunately, they don’t take kindly to people who don’t order food and the waitress made that abundantly clear to us and the table next... People often mention service, coffee, good, drink, ordered, staff, nice, museum, water, friendly,

Lucky to receive one star… I never usually review unless positive but the way we were spoken to was appalling. We stopped off for a drink to get out of the rain, unfortunately, they don’t take kindly to people who don’t order food and the waitress made that abundantly clear to us and the table next to us. We all felt uncomfortable, swiftly paid and left. If the service had been better, we may have had more drinks and spent double or triple what we had. It’s a shame because we may have come back for dinner or breakfast another time but no chance of that now.

Stopped in for breakfast before the Van Gogh museum. The peach pancake was great, the service was horrible. I asked for tap water, the waitress told me they only give tap water if you order another beverage (coffee etc) because “all the tourists want tap water” and she continued on to say that anywhere you go in Europe they will not give you tap water (which is funny considering this is the first place that has refused to serve me tap water). My friend then ordered a hot chocolate and asked for tap water with her drink - and they refused to give it to her because they didn’t want me to drink it. About 15 mins later a different waitress brought us both water unprompted. Really odd experience, definitely wouldn’t go back.

Came here after going to Stadilik Museum around 4 pm on a Saturday. Weather wasn’t the best so no outdoor seating. It was a bit busy but since it was just me, it was easy to seat me. I ordered the Peaches and Cream Pancakes. It was super super good and hit the spot. Price wasn’t too bad either. The only downside was this took FOREVER to make. My food came maybe 40 minutes after I ordered so a bit too long and that’s why it’s getting a lower rating.

Fairly good, warm atmosphere. Great for a quick stop. Their menu has many different options. I tried chicken schnitzel and was too grease and thick for me. But you might enjoy it 🫡

Doesn‘t look like much from the outside. Inside: friendly staff, very reasonable prices for this part of town! Basic food, but done very well! Typical old basic Dutch atmosphere. Lovely! Will definitely come here again!

A nice spot to visit, just around the corner from the Van Gogh museum. The food was ok, but it has the feel of a nice traditional bar & the beer was enjoyable. The place serves both food and drink, but have a plan B before visiting as it can be extremely busy and you may not have the opportunity to sit down for food. The staff were pleasant, and always willing to help. The place was jam-packed to its limit, only appeared to have 3 people to take orders, clean/set the tables and serve - credit goes out to them as they didn't seem to have a second to breathe!

Good view, good coffee. I ordered omlette with cheese. It was delicious. The location also good, it is so close to museumplain. The bad thing is the serve is a little bit late

This turned out to be a pleasant breakfast spot. Wasn’t really sure what to expect, but we were hungry and needing a spot along our walk to the museums. When we popped in, the service was a little cold at first, but eventually warmed up and were pleasant. Good coffee, mimosa, pancake, and egg breakfast sandwich. Pretty big menu. Given all the options in the city, not sure I would make it a priority to go back, but we all enjoyed it and have nothing bad to say about it!

We love places where the owners are there and interacting with their patrons. We came in here after a long tour of the Van Gogh museum. We sat down and ordered some great coffee, tea, bitterballen. Of course, the owner joked with me and asked me what type of whiskey I was having. It was too early for that but never too early for a Heineken. It was perfectly poured and enjoyed it. We continued to chit chat , enjoy the good vibes inside the restaurant/bar and went on our way. I recommend a stop through in hear for lunch/dinner and/or a quick bite.

The location is perfect at a corner near museum area. The prices are quite reasonable and they have good free wifi. The service isn’t the best at the time I went but maybe it’s not the time where you have all attention it was around 1430. To be fair, it’s a good place and the whole setup at the top with seats facing the window is cool.

Menu highlight: banana Pannenkoek. They have a large menu with sweet and savoury options. Great place for indoor or outdoor brunch before heading to a nearby museum.

Cozy restaurant with Parisian vibe, tasty and filling food, nice interior and exterior decor. The service was friendly and quick. Reasonable prices in a nice area of Amsterdam.

Lovely little place to have your breakfast if you're staying near Museumsplein. We went there several times during our stay. The staff was friendly and served us quickly even though the place was quite busy. Breakfast was decent for a reasonable price, the orange juice was freshly pressed and excellent. Very good coffee! It looks small when you first enter, but upstairs is a large area with loads of tables.

Nice food and staff , the guy at the counter was very funny and friendly 😄, the prices are normale being in Amsterdam, i only think that orange juice was small considered the price.

Lovely atmosphere on the chilly day we visited here. We were on the top floor and had a lovely view over the streets. The staff was remarkably friendly and we got served very quickly.

A favorite little lunch/coffee/drink place I like to bring friends visiting from out of town. They have a great French onion soup and Erwten Soup when it’s on the menu. Right by the Museumplein so a perfect place to stop after a day at the museum!

Very cozy and comfy space. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Wasn’t really sure what to expect when we stopped in, but were definitely pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious, and would like to come back before we go home.

The other reviews I saw made me a bit hesitant to write a review in the first place, though I can imagine that these reviews were on the extreme side due to Amsterdam having quite a unique culture in terms of directness. One which can only be easily understood when one can converse with the employees in Dutch Anyhow, as a Dutch person I felt welcomed and the employees were quite kind and helpful. Didn't order any food but the beer was served perfectly, it worked for me!

Small little diner. Very close to the Van Gogh museum. Food was great. Service was very quick. A lie the corner it's on. Excellent people watching destination...

Tasty soups, delicious apple pie. Full stop. We asked for extra bread for the soup and the young lady told us with a rude manner that she was too busy to bring us... That's the reason for the two stars

It reminds me of a pub. So, there is a very nice atmosphere. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. Food is also recommendable. We had salmon and a grilled mix fish plate. Unfortunately, there is no local beer.

service was poor, a bit rude and rushed. Ordered salmon baguette and got salmon in a cheap burger bun.

I ordered “2 slices of bread with ham or cheese and garnish”, and i got two white toast with cheese and ham on it (cold) for the price 9.50 euro. I expected a nice bread not a plain white toast and with melted cheese. The salad was the only good thing about it. But i do not recommend the order i ordered.

Been there twice and one of the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. This place has a restaurant and a coffee bar and both have an owner, who is rude, yelling and customers (not only me but also others around him) where he seems to lack normal social abilities. First time I visited and ate a meal (which was decent but also had hair in it…) the owner was rude and snappy for no reason whatsoever. I remember leaving with a feeling of not being welcome and felt he was constantly looking over our shoulder. The next time, I came in with a friend and asked if we could order food and a drink but that I went to get a beverage another place as I needed something vegan and do not drink coffee. One of the nice ladies working there said that it should be a problem and next thing as my friend and I sat down and had ordered a white (“Karen” type of older woman) came up and was mad about it this having been allowed to drink it there, and next thing we know the owner (the man) comes over, yelled loudly at us, threw us out and even laid his hands on my friend (a 20 year old girl)! He then openend the door to push us out the door and even threatened by suddenly slamming the door in our faces while trying to leave. The most disgusting behaviour I have encountered in. The Netherlands so far. I recommend no one to visit this place, ever.

This is the worst costumer service I have ever encountered. First they say something is fine, then they changed their mind and decided we had to leave, and threw us out. Without any warning. We did everything by the book, so unless you are up for a meal/drink you might not get to try, but you have to pay for, this place is for you. Otherwise, I won't recommend.

We visited a cafe yesterday. The service and the atmosphere were pleasant. The French soup was awesome. However, what surprised us was the pancake service. Although it is not an expensive meal, the way it is presented seems substandard to me. I have been working in a restaurant for years, and apart from the fact that it is uneconomical, it is very unflattering and especially humiliating from the guest's side. I also noticed that when serving cutlery to the table, the staff held them from the side that is being consumed, which is also not very hygienic. (I recommend gloves).

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
