We are looking for Some Indian food and went here. It's a very good restaurant. We had ordered two Travel plates. You may see it in the attached photo. This plate is enough for one person cost €15. Taste 4.5 stars. Locality 5 stars. Service 4.5 stars. Must go place

Sat at one of the kerbside tables and enjoyed a lovely Chicken Madras with Pilau rice and a butter naan. Tons of chicken breast meat, so much in fact I couldn't finish it all. I would deffo recommend this place if you are ever in Amsterdam and fancy a curry.

Wouldn't eat this food even for free. I ordered Garlic Naan, Shahi Paneer and Rice. They sent garlic paratha, that too, undercooked and without telling me that they changed my order all by themselves. And then they have the audacity to tell me that it's the same thing, just made on tawa. Anyone who knows anything about Indian food, would never call it Naan, see pics. And this guy kept arguing that it was naan. What they sent was not even close to naan. And they didn't even accept their mistake, just kept arguing. The shahi paneer was sub par too, the paneer being very dry and hard, and the gravy was ok. The only good thing was the packaging and the rice, hence the 2 stars. And the delivery took more than 1 hour 40 mins.

I went to the restaurant when it was newly open food was good at that time. I visited again a week ago and quality of food has decreased alot. Everything was old Samosa and vegetables weren't fresh at all. Now they take lot of orders and not paying any attention to the quality of food. Disappointing

*Cash Only!* - We went there on a Saturday night and we absolutely loved the food, delicious butter chicken, lamb curry and naan bread. Even ordered a pitcher of „Indian Sunrise“ which was great - the negative surprise in the end was we had to pay with cash - which is quite uncommon these days, but other than that everything was great.

One thing I feel is extremely important for everyone running the hospitality business is compassion and kindness - I find this missing in many places, but definitely not at this one. Me and my friend were running late to catch a train/flight respectively since we were travelling separately. After ordering we explained the situation to the owner who was also taking the order. He completely understood the situation and split whatever we ordered into two halves (in larger quantity) and kindly packed everythig in two different sets of containers. To complete the circle, the food was absolutely tasty, I enjoyed it. Would definitely visit again during my next visit to Amsterdam. Thanks paaji :)

From the states here. Food is great. Had the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala and garlic naan to go with. Negative rating though for if you like Mango Lassi with hair in it that is not your own. No financial or food compensation OR apology offered by the owner who had the audacity to bring over his TripAdvisor QR code at the end of our meal and ask for a rating — after I told him the food tasted good… so here is your appropriate rating as requested 😅

Bollywood is an Indian restaurant that captures all the charm of small restaurants in heart of Amsterdam. The formula is simple: cosy atmosphere, good food and reasonable price. This is the type of joint locals would go back to and become regulars. Recommended and surely you won't be disappointed.

Good hospitality and affordable prices. Rogan josh and seekh kebab were tasty. Butter chicken could have been better. Also the basket nan had less butter and garlic nan wasn’t tasty. Overall good eatery place. Mango lassi was tasty.

As a vegan I am so happy to dine in a restaurant with a dedicated vegan menu. It was the first time ever to eat vegan garlic cheese naan and omg SO delicious. When you're looking for comfort food in a cozy atmosphere this is your go to.

We visited this place on a whim while navigating to another restaurant, and I'm glad we did. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the food was delicious. Opted for the "tourist menu" with smaller portions for two dishes since I wasn't sure what to try. Also first time trying Mango Lassi which was also tasty. For sure i would like to visit again. :)

Aloo paratha without Aloo. Food was bland with gravy tasting like tomato ketchup was added. We are disappointed by our recent experiences with Bollywood Indian restaurant.

We had a great experience here. I'm a vegetarian and my husband eats meat, and both our dishes were great - my 'butter chicken' was amazing, and he really enjoyed the mango chicken (which they made spicier to his taste). The staff are patient and friendly - literally the only things that could've made it perfect was more than one option for wine by the glass, and if the upstairs section was tidied. We'll absolutely be back! Thank you so much for the great food :)

Lovely Indian restaurant that also has a fully vegan menu next to its regular menu. Food is amazing and decently priced. The staff is very nice and attentive.

This restaurant was amazing. My mom tried a bryani and i tried a curry, both were delicious. There’s a lot of food so don’t order too much. The staff was really nice with us and the place was really cute. I highly recommend.

I didn't plan to visit, but had a pleasant time. The food was good, the portions were not small and are good for sharing. Two of our group of five were vegetarian and they had no trouble finding something to order. Despite being warned several times that my menu choice is very hot (spicy) the dish was not very hot. This is probably good for the majority of tourists that dine here, but I was hoping for something worth a good kick.

We were there last night, service was very poor, we waited 1.5 hours for our food, then we decided to leave they said that food is ready, and then we waited another 20 minutes. There is one server in yellow t- shirt is very rude, as we booked a table via social deal, as he came to know he started ignoring us. Overall very bed experience, would never advise to spend a penny there!

Explored the Indian restaurant, and wow, the food was incredible! They've nailed the flavors, offering a rich taste of Indian cuisine. Highly recommend for a satisfying dining experience.

5 stars for the all vegan menu (you need to ask for it). I've been craving Paneer Tikka Masala ever since I became vegan 10 years ago and I finally had it! Service was slow but the food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice.

Had lost hope in eating tonight and this place saved the day. Was grateful just to receive our order after closing hour but the food was delicious as well. Big portions of rice with every curry. Could not finish any of the curries. Deserves praise.

Wonderful service from the staffs. We had the lunch course and ala carte menu which were amazing! Wonderful service from the staffs. Make appointment to avoid disappointment.

With dietary restrictions, travel can be challenging, so it means a lot to me when a restaurant has vegan, gluten-free options. The vegetable biryani rice serving was enough for both of us to have for two meals. We loved the veggie pakoras and cauliflower pakoras, and I especially enjoyed the vegan raita which is the first time I've had raita since developing an allergy to dairy. My husband has no restrictions and he enjoyed a chicken tandoori appetizer. We liked the papadams also. I'd never had the tofu-based chicken and tried it with a coconut curry, and discovered that I prefer curried vegetables, but it was not bad, if you like that texture which approximates chicken.

Bollywood has a great vibe. Although we just went for takeout, the food was delicious. Great service and quick too. Has to be the tastiest Indian food I’ve had in the city hands down. Eat here if you want authentic Indian food.

Food is ok but apart from that it’s not a place we will go back to. The open kitchen is not or very badly ventilated and the smoke and smell in the restaurant is terrible. We had to go to the dry cleaners afterwards. Also the annoying sound of slot machines in the background and a guy (owner?) who constantly had to walk in and out of the restaurant made us feel not very welcome.

What can I say about this restruant. Absolutely fabulous food the flavours were out of this world. Iv eaten Indian food in places around the world but I have to say this was the best. The staff were so lovely. A beautiful experience for us both. Thank you to the chef and the staff. We Will be back again next time we are in Amsterdam

The food is really excellent, we love it! We always ordered with delivery at home, but we definitely want to visit it soon. The delivery is a bit slow, it usually take over one hour...but they are very kind if you call them, and anyway it is worth to wait! Recommend

  • 5/5 Martin M. 2 years ago on Google
I felt really welcomed, the staff is great and the food is delicious but the waiting time for main dishes is too long, some process improvement may be needed. Apart from that, great experience.

The only restaurant my husband and I frequented twice during our 18 day stay. The food is delicious, the Bombay cocktail was tasty and the service was amazing! Love the butter chicken!!! Yes, we waited a bit but it was so worth it. Relax and just enjoy not feeling rushed 😁

Food is good but took more than 2 hours to receive it and it was not warm. Do not do delivery if this is how you are going to do it. Plus I did not receive any discount or refund for the wait which is also why I am writing a review. If I had receive at least something or a real apology I would have not write anything down. I will not order again.

Ordered at Bollywood Indian Restaurant through Uber Eats. It took them 1,5 hours to deliver the food, which was quite long I must say. I ordered the ‘Lamb Vindaloo’ curry and garlic nan. The curry was super, like SUPER spicy, which I like! However, if you can’t handle spice I would recommend you to take something less spicy or not spicy at all. Aside from the long waiting, I enjoyed the food. Probably will not order for take-out again, but just eat dinner at the restaurant itself :)

👍👍 The perfect place to enjoy high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. Was surprised to see this large restaurant buzzing at 5pm (both inside and outside!) but after seeing the fresh fish on display and trying the sashimi which just melts in the mouth I understood why. The staff were also very well-...
