I visited this place with the intent to try their spare ribs. Besides the ribs, I ordered more fries, iced tea, and coke. The indoor ambient is quite good at this place. I can say it emits classy vibes regarding the overall interior, the furniture, the way the food is served, utensils, etc. They even have a very nice artificial fireplace. Have a look through the restaurant's gallery. This is 5/5 for me. The indoor music is in the alright-loud range. I.e., you can still have a pleasant conversation with someone at your table, even though I expect the place to get quite loud on busy days. Luckily, most people might choose to sit outside, and indeed I haven't noticed overcrowding indoors on my two recent visits. My pick is the indoor dinner because I want protection from cigarette smoke. And insofar the terrace and the indoors aren't connected, that worked quite well for me so far. Altogether for the stage 5/5. The staff is very professional-friendly and helpful, so I tipped high. I call this impeccable. 5/5 Regarding the ribs themselves, they look good. The taste is all right. I found them harder than expected to cut, and overall they were a bit too bony for my taste. The portion side is fair, as in 'just enough', rather than having just a bit extra. That perception could be individual. Overall, I would give the food 3/5 for quality. However, let's look at the pricing as well. These ribs are a bit on the expensive side, which makes it relatively poor value for money overall. Thus 2/5 here. Things could be different with other servings from the menu. The drinks were standard but, got to say very nicely served and accompanied with ice in every glass. You might notice that adding ice also counts in. This is a 5/5 experience. Overall the place is 4/5. While that might seem a bit too much given the spare ribs paragraph, I don't think so. There are quite a few good things about this place, and ultimately I've come there for the spare ribs, so feel free to look around at the rest of their menu. The location of this place is great (Rembrandtplein), and, at least at the moment, they offer an excellent separation between smoking and non-smoking areas, unlike many other places. I will monitor that over the Summer as well.

I had a great time eating lunch at this place. They had a good selection of beers both local and Irish (I think there were a few Belgian ones as well). The menu had plenty of Irish dishes, but I picked a Wiener Schnitzel, and I'm glad I did as it was very tasty. The service was very good. I can definitely recommend this place for lunch.

I was craving fish and chips so we went to the old bell and I lived the food there. It would be good to have some authentic tartar sauce with the fish . The other two dishes we ate were a spicy chicken sandwich and the shepherds pie which was not like I expected it but tasted good all the same. The ambience of the place is very Irish and the ice tea is very real.

One of the best schnitzels in my life! Super juicy! The sausages were also delicious. The spices they use are incredible, they give the sausage that one special taste 👌 They have a huge variety of drafted beer! The atmosphere here is exactly like in an Irish pub ❤️

The Old Bell is a great Pub with a good selection of beer on tap. Food was good as well even though they didn't have everything that was on the menue. The price was normal for Amsterdam. The service was great and the pub has a nice old atmosphere. I can definitely recommend a visit

I was there last year and the food was delicious, so i decided to visit old bell this year to and it was totally delicious. Big portions, nice staff and lot of local beer ! I tried the steak and it was 10/10. For me the bell is one of the top restaurants in AMS, also with nice staff and location.

I returned here because years ago it was one of my favourite places in Amsterdam centre. But It was our last time, definitely. It is no more than a fast food pub, without quality or personality.

This place seems to have a English vibe going on. Paneled walls, an open fire and cold beer! Prices are average for the area I found. The chick behind the bar loves to sing too.

We had the fish and chips which was delicious and way better than expected. Would highly recommend.

Great pubbinbthe middle of Amsterdam! The service is super fast and friendly. We were a group of 6, going for dinner after work. The English pies are very good - had the lamb and Thai chicken and both were a hit. Other than that the fish and chips and the smoked salmon salad were also a hit! There is a large selection of beer here so if you're a big beer drinker this is the place for you. Not so much if you're a wine or cocktail drinker.
